    Finally, someone said it.

I imagine once Antoine got wind of the wages they were offering, over a 4 year contract period, and that massively swung him to ultimately say to the club that he would like to explore the option.

Can’t really manage yourself out of that one as a club once it happens

Yeah you can't blame the club at all, But some will if a replacement isn't brought in, But from some of the reports and from what Pearson has said were in the process of doing that, And we have to give the new guy a chance

It wasn't long ago that most people were up in arms about Aaron Wilbraham joining and he didn't turn our too bad.

We always used to sell for, what felt like, the right price. This is the first one for a long time (that I can remember) where it feels we have been short changed)

Could this be a case of Antoine wanting to go, saying he wouldn't sign a new contract If we offered him one and City not wanting to lose out on what they could get now rather then risk holding out for more and no one actually willing to pay it.

I doubt we would have got much more for him in the summer with his contract running down.

I wonder when the press conference being released will correlate to the move itself. Might be embargoed until later on in case the club don’t want to show their hand

Yea it might possibly be pushed back, but pearson is usually honest in his interviews so I can't seeing it being much of an issue , or maybe one of the coaches may do it instead.

£9m plus add-ons sounds a bit derisory tbh. Of course those add-ons could be very easy to hit, devil is in the detail but the initial fee yes is a bit derisory.

Could it be that Bournemouth are willing to pay £9m upfront and the rest in instalments ? I've heard some people say if it is £15m it would likely be paid over a period of time so £9m upfront right now doesn't seem to bad if the add on's are likely to come a later date

Same here: the first game was the same day as my best friends birthday party , i was fuming my dad made me go to the party.

Needless to say i sat in the corner listening to radio the whole of first game

    ...

Anfield i just remember listening at home with my dad, going absolutely crazy twice. The time between goal and FT felt like an eternity

Ha Ha that's dedication to be at a party and listen to the game.

I remember being at the game when the floodlights went out couldn't tell you anything about the game other then the floodlights going out that's all I remember

Have no memory of the next game at home.

I'm so pleased my son who is 7 loves coming to games now and he can have some memories of his own tha's what it's all about.......Well hopefully anyway.

  6. I was only 8 when this happened although not at the game, But I will never forget being able to listen to the game on the radio in my bedroom and running down the stairs and jumping into my dads arms with us both cheering when tins scored that goal had the city bug ever since.

Still dont know what to do. Waiting to hear from hospital re wife. Feeling really down and fed up TBH. I normally try and look on the bright side of life but ain't working today.

That's shit to hear, I can't give any sound advice about your wife as i've never been in the situation, but I know how feeling down and fed up feels, Just make sure you talk about how it's making you feel always good to get it out and maybe see how your wife is feeling when she gets home and make a decision when things are a bit clearer. ( Sorry if that's rubbish advice ) If ever you need a chat just drop me a message or speak to others you might know on here.

Wife saw Dr on Friday only to be told her cancer is back and has possibly taken up in her liver also. She had a fall at home yesterday and has ended up in hospital so waiting to hear what the outcome is. Spoke to my Sister in Oz this morning as it is the anniversary of Mums passing and was told that Dad is failing rapidly.  Am due to fly over this weekend to see him but now is a quandry as to what I should do, go or stay here.  Life really can be shit sometimes.

So sorry to hear that BigTone, such a tough thing to have to decide on.

  9. Anyone remember him as a youngster at city, not sure he made many 1st team appearances if any at all, He's just been announced as Dovers new manager he's only 28. Good to see someone so young given a chance.

  10. Actually looking forward to the game this week, I think the injuries to Andi and Tommy could force Nigel's hand with the formation so will be interesting to see what he does or maybe he will just revert to the usual 3-5-2, I'm feeling positive for 3pts, but I dread to think what the atmosphere will be like if we let an early goal in, If people are going to try and create an atmosphere in the dolman corner I hope it's a positive one, we need to get behind the players from the first whistle. 11. I voted no, I think its the club that is the problem and has been for a while, we've been too soft for a long time now....people have to remember we wanted someone proven....and someone that would come In and take no punches, Pearson does that and maybe sometimes he's a little harsh but the truth hurts sometimes especially when it's about something we all love like our club, I do get though that we can't afford to go down, but I don't know who comes in and changes this....yes ok maybe a manger bounce and a bit of confidence back for a few games but, we'd still have the same problem in the long run because some.players simply aren't good enough for this level sadly.

  12. I am in the camp of keeping Pearson based on the fact that some of our players simply aren't good enough, I've felt he needs time to sort that problem out........... but he really is begining to  irritate me with his speaking out about players, he's tried lots of different players at the back and things still aren't improving they can't all not be good enough, and like lots have said he doesn't take responsibility or not much anyway, I still think a new manager would have the same problems but may add some confidence to the squad, which I think is lacking. I think if we drop into the bottom 3 then the board may have to react. Just hope its not to late by then.
