  1. Thanks, this is the collection there's no names on the books other than books on football. My mum just wanted them gone really but if someone would make use of them then, they are more than welcome or we can take them to a book shop.

  2. Hey everyone bit of a random one not sure if this is the right place to ask this. My grampy passed away recently and my mum and family have been going through some of the stuff he kept ( lots that he didn't ever need to keep ) they handed me some football memorabilia books there are 6 of them all varying with differnet things from fa cups history,  club history things like that would anyone know where to go to get then valued or at least someone that collects those sort of things ? Any help would be appreciated.

  3. Lost another fellow red last night my grampy. Peter Stone he sat in the lansdown with his wife mavis and before that in the Williams stand, I have so many memories of going to football with him. He will be up there with more fellow reds who have passed away R.I.P Grampy.

  4. Hey everyone, just wanted to pass a bit of news on that we lost a fellow red this evening my grampy Peter Stone aged 92 , he had watched city for many years I'm not even sure for how long he was going for, before the new stadium was built we used to have to walk through the same gate behind the wedlock stand for good luck ( it never brought any luck ) haha, on his 80th birthday we bumped into Scotty Murray who came over and said hello and wished my grampy a happy birthday it made his day and we still have the photo of them together. One more memory for me which I will never forget was coming back from Wembley having lost to Hull, it fell on my grampys birthday and all the city fans sang happy birthday to him he was over the moon. I will miss him very much but I'm sure he will be looking Down on the gate and willing us to promotion r.i.p grampy Pete ?

Same as Matt, I had sepsis a few years ago, along with pneumonia and wasn't at all well.

Luckily, like Matt, it was caught in time but I thought I just had a stinking cold or the flu.

Son came home from school and I had passed out in a pool of sweat. I woke up 3 days later in the RUH. Turns out my temperature was 44, not that I knew anything about it.

Horrible disease, absolutely horrible and I share the good wishes to Brooke.

Glad you came through. It's scary how quick this can creep up on you. Mines a bit of a gross story to be honest it involved an abcess in a sensitive area. I'd been told many times it was nothing and would pass, well no it wasn't nothing it was an abcess that eventually burst, even when it burst they were sending me home until they took blood tests and found my blood was infected, I was amidiataly put onto an iv drip, was the worst experience of my life.

For those who have not seen it, what an awful thing to happen (to anyone) but what a fight from Brooke. Inspirational to us all. Not many get through sepsis unless there is very early intervention.

Love to Brooke and best wishes for next season xxx

Very brave to share her story I had sepsis a fee years back, luckily it was caught early for me and I got treated very quickly, but still a scary experience.

Love and hugs to Brooke. X

Probably the hardest day of my life today leaving my Wife in a Care Home. Came home and dog is searching everywhere for her. Heart breaking.

Really sorry Tone, life really is pushing you at the moment. As said above not much I can say other than stay strong. My best mate's girlfriend has just been diagnosed with cancer, it's treatable but it's been a real tough time on them over the last few weeks and waiting, which has also taken a toll on my mental health too with worrying about my mate, He's lost a brother and his mum before we were 15, I've just tried to be there for him and let him talk about it to get his thoughts out. Hopefully you have some people around you, who you feel comfortable talking too.

  8. Terrible pricing from city, but I do get they need to maximise what they can, its £64 for me and my boy to go, But for a one off game for my son to experience the atmosphere I experienced when we played man u and man City 5 years ago will be special.

He has NOT been prosecuted. He has a right to earn a living. Morals has nothing to do with it.

Your right he hasn't so he should be able to play again, But without doubt a complete knob for the way he spoke to the girl on that video, Hopefully this last year has been enough to teach him he needs to change.

Not sure how long he has left on his MU contract, but will be interesting to see how he comes back either there or at another club.

He will be back, charges been dropped so he's not done anything wrong in the eyes of the law, There's players out there that have done time and have come back out and played.

    Finally, someone said it.

I imagine once Antoine got wind of the wages they were offering, over a 4 year contract period, and that massively swung him to ultimately say to the club that he would like to explore the option.

Can’t really manage yourself out of that one as a club once it happens

Yeah you can't blame the club at all, But some will if a replacement isn't brought in, But from some of the reports and from what Pearson has said were in the process of doing that, And we have to give the new guy a chance

It wasn't long ago that most people were up in arms about Aaron Wilbraham joining and he didn't turn our too bad.

We always used to sell for, what felt like, the right price. This is the first one for a long time (that I can remember) where it feels we have been short changed)

Could this be a case of Antoine wanting to go, saying he wouldn't sign a new contract If we offered him one and City not wanting to lose out on what they could get now rather then risk holding out for more and no one actually willing to pay it.

I doubt we would have got much more for him in the summer with his contract running down.

I wonder when the press conference being released will correlate to the move itself. Might be embargoed until later on in case the club don’t want to show their hand

Yea it might possibly be pushed back, but pearson is usually honest in his interviews so I can't seeing it being much of an issue , or maybe one of the coaches may do it instead.

£9m plus add-ons sounds a bit derisory tbh. Of course those add-ons could be very easy to hit, devil is in the detail but the initial fee yes is a bit derisory.

Could it be that Bournemouth are willing to pay £9m upfront and the rest in instalments ? I've heard some people say if it is £15m it would likely be paid over a period of time so £9m upfront right now doesn't seem to bad if the add on's are likely to come a later date

Same here: the first game was the same day as my best friends birthday party , i was fuming my dad made me go to the party.

Needless to say i sat in the corner listening to radio the whole of first game

    ...

Anfield i just remember listening at home with my dad, going absolutely crazy twice. The time between goal and FT felt like an eternity

Ha Ha that's dedication to be at a party and listen to the game.

I remember being at the game when the floodlights went out couldn't tell you anything about the game other then the floodlights going out that's all I remember

Have no memory of the next game at home.

I'm so pleased my son who is 7 loves coming to games now and he can have some memories of his own tha's what it's all about.......Well hopefully anyway.

  16. I was only 8 when this happened although not at the game, But I will never forget being able to listen to the game on the radio in my bedroom and running down the stairs and jumping into my dads arms with us both cheering when tins scored that goal had the city bug ever since.

Still dont know what to do. Waiting to hear from hospital re wife. Feeling really down and fed up TBH. I normally try and look on the bright side of life but ain't working today.

That's shit to hear, I can't give any sound advice about your wife as i've never been in the situation, but I know how feeling down and fed up feels, Just make sure you talk about how it's making you feel always good to get it out and maybe see how your wife is feeling when she gets home and make a decision when things are a bit clearer. ( Sorry if that's rubbish advice ) If ever you need a chat just drop me a message or speak to others you might know on here.
