Straight swap for Tanner at RB.

15-20 min cameo of technical proficiency / skill.  Can’t comment defensively.  He was unfairly yellow carded for playing the ball.  But the ref was James Linington, who was crap, as was the near side Lino (I’m not referring to the disallowed goal, he got that right, but the other decisions right in front of his nose he got wrong).

I thought the ref was decent. The offside was odd (was it his fault?), but he was at least trying to allow a game of football to be played, and generally succeeded.

  2. Finally a game of football this season to really enjoy. City had a go, even at the end were chasing the win.

Had enough opportunities to win at that.

Just keep playing like that. That's all we can ask. Do that a results take care of themselves.

I’ve given you more detailed feedback before and you didn’t appreciate it. I won’t go through it again.

If I may say Henry, you're being a rather pompous ass with that remark. As a pensioner I can be forgetful - please remind me when you did and I will look it up or you can state it again on here

You’ve used a personal insult then want me to help you?

Can I suggest that you don’t put yourself out online if you’re that sensitive?

Guys...... Stop. Just block eachother ffs, better things to do in life

  4. Boring comes to mind

Been that way for a while now. I was hoping post summer we'd see a spark, things worked on over a summer. So far it's just win or lose.

How often in the last ........ Years have you said, wow what a game that was. Not close to often enough.

Wolves and top at xmas were the last real have a go team.

    Scott was the spark......

The way too early opinion in the season is it's all well and good improving the side (it has) but you need magic that delivers more often than not.

We have many good players now.

But creativity? I'm still to be convinced.

I'm all for fighting for the right to play, but you have to play.

4 points 3 games...... Meh football

Here's to the next 43 and some inspired team football along the way.

    Without intending to hijack the thread;

I know mate - we love the place - and we already own a place in Gibraltar which is part of our plans. We will definitely buy SOMETHING in that area between Malaga and Gib. It's how much money we spend that is affected by the 90 day rule. If the Gib negotiations allow Gib citizens access to Schengen then we will then buy a larger place, because we would be able to spend as long as we want there. However, if not then we will buy smaller and cheaper (considering we'd be banned from it for half the year)

We will definitely have SOMETHING there though. We've been visiting the Malaga area 4-5 times per year since 2015. We stay in a friend's flat (mates rates!) in Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel and we will be over there in 2 weeks time (10 days in Gib for their National Day celebrations, followed by 5 days in Arroyo). When we buy our own place we'll be further down the west coast though in order to be closer to Gib, so we can manage our flat there as an AirBNB.

    Love the Malaga away kit!

I always say "i could try and tell you about malaga but you'd never understand" it's a place you have to experience. And August feria, well that's something else another level entirely.

Benalmedia harbour is also quite something special eh.

With the Gib negotiationa, a lot depends on who the next Spanish government is.

Living in Spain, i sometimes forget about the 90 day rule and other aspects of brexit(I live under grandfather rules for now) But yours is a harsh reminder i need to investigate stuff when i comes to buying my own house in a few years.

P.s  do you find it easy to adjust to Gibraltar life when you go? It's one of those places with a life and set of rules of it's own . It's British with a twist, a cool place to spend time with so much to learn.

I’m still hoping to move out there in retirement (well, Marbella actually, but I know that part of the Costa very well), if I can find a way around the post-Brexit 90 day rule.
If this happens then I’d definitely make the effort to go to a few Malaga games - and probably make them my ‘second’ team.
    I’ve never had one to-date.

Just to sweeten the deal, their away kit is purple and lime (official city colours)

My advice; don't hope, just do it. Malaga city is wonderful, the whole coastline is pretty epic at that.

Do you know when they are announced? Hoping to go in October!

I've never been to a game abroad before so really wanting to scratch the itch this year!

The fixtures themselves are already up.

I've not paid enough to Portuguese ko times to know when the actual ko is announced

The weekend games go from Friday night to Monday night. The first weekend timings are still tbc

    I was torn between

    Sporting v benfica nov 12

    Or

    Sports v porto dec 16

I went with the second as also includes xmas time

The TV schedules usually come out a month to six weeks beforehand. So, you can either book flights and make a long weekend of it (Fri - Tues) or wait til the schedules are confirmed.

I'd like to go to AC Milan this season to watch them play at the San Siro before it closes.

Fixtures have been announced, and weirdly AC Milan play home games on Sundays?

Does anyone know when I can be confident to book flights for December fixtures? Thanks in advance!

It's a pain and really makes you appreciate how English fixtures are done.It is the hardest thing about going to games in some other countries

Need to book Friday (early) to Tuesday, to be absolutely sure of getting the game.

Im spain, they decide fixture times 2 weeks before. Pretty sure when i went to Milan derby it was 2 weeks, as i booked flights 1 month before with no idea when game was.

I'm planning to go to sporting v porto in December, as part of a Lisbon trip. If the game is Monday, no football for me.

In short, if you can Friday early til Tuesday. It's the only way you can be absolutely sure you'll be safe with your flights.

  9. Just finished listening to last night's show. What a show that was.

In 1993 i was 9, my football memories only still fully hold around then. Geoff has been THE voice ever since. I mean, my voice of Bristol football, and one of the voices of football full stop has just retired.

End of an era. We were so lucky to have such a man as the heart of football.

    What happened last night?

I thought the guy slipped and accidently knocked the linesman over?

My bad, i confess i heard it on the radio when first woke up. And seemed to be suggesting punched him.

But seems perhaps that's not what actually happened.

  11. Jim white just stirring the pot as he sometimes loves to do.

Of course there was going to be a pitch invasion if they won last night.

Just like there was at city after Rotherham, Hartlepool, and Palace.

They are joyful, they are well intended, they are beautiful memories, and add to the occasion.

    however there is a line.

1st round of the league trophy against your rivals... Well just no. And of course as a general principal rule fans shouldn't go on the pitch in 99% of games.

But the last home game, with your season on the line. If you win it's part of the occasion.

However, part of that deal is .. you let opposition players get off the pitch , and you leave the officials alone; the guy who did that last night =***banned for life*** (edit: I may have gone to far for what really happened)

    ....

Ps. Do you remember city v palace at the end,  fans were literally on the touchline waiting for the whistle; that's how special it was. I also remember Watson walking through the crowd generally being left along never in danger.

  12. Playoff mix, like a real challenge.

It's not enough to make small progress, year on year.. to then be broken up by the big clubs buying power in a few years; healthier bank balance, square one on the pitch isn't why you watch football. (Plus before you know it , hola relegation battle)

Promotion is not the be all and end all.

But to be a successful season, go into is game 42-43 knowing if you win those last 3 or 4, you're top 6.
