  1. 100% agree that the structure is inadequate in terms of board/direction/strategy/recruitment etc. Without a definitive recruitment strategy we'll just carry on as we are and tread water, which in this league means going backwards. Players and supporters like to see a club being ambitious and with clear objectives rather than sound bites, but there is no sign of that at the moment, certainly not from an outside perspective. I don't know what the recruitment strategy is, other than collect young players and hope to make a fortune from selling them later (yet still make an accounting loss). Its apparent to me that the structure of the club is inadequate with inexperienced people in situ with no clear strategic objectives. Sound bites like "we want to be a top 6 club" doesn't cut it. The club should have fought tooth and nail to keep Gould if possible and, if NP had to be removed from the managers job, move him into the Technical/Football Ops Director role, with Tinnion staying as Academy Director, LM Head Coach, and JL taking a back seat. Dream team imo and a big opportunity missed or, more to the point, not wanted.
  2. Woolworths made football boots under the Winfield badge, I got confused as well thinking they made Winfield Wings boots. Bloody memory

Very harsh on Conway who has a high ceiling imo. He's young, trying to play the way LM wants him to play and struggling with it as its not to his strengths. If I were him, I'd not sign a contract extension and see how it develops and whats available at the end of the season as its possible that if he just can't get to grips with playing LMs way, his career may not be going in the right direction. Very high potential, but possibly not here.
  4. As unassuming a bloke as you're likely to meet and one of the best players we've had in our history imo. One that really deserves to be called a legend.

Likewise, he was way below par against Birmingham and just didn't get into the game against Millwall with several sloppy passes. He's young so maybe a case of just hitting a wall in the last couple of games, or maybe the contract is on his mind (or lack of) at this time of the season. I like him and would go for it.
  6. As a young player, I was given a pair of those to try out and keep in return for a favourable review/quote. They were crap and I didn't do a review, they said to keep them anyway, but they went in the bin. Not sure if they were Hummel or some other make but they were just a gimmick really.
  7. I'm not sure of the last sentence, but he's certainly giving Mehmeti time to play his way into the team and in the absence of any other player being any better at the moment, why not ? I don't know if it will pay off, but we'll find out in a few more games I would think. He's playing better than the sporadic appearances under Pearson to be fair. I'm not a great fan, but happy to give him some time to get his mojo back.
  8. Another two for Martin. Thats four in the last couple of games. 91st and 98th minutes today.
  9. It wasn't a low block in the second half tbf. I was hoping Millwall would open up and try to win the game, but now I wish they didn't as they were better than us and totally deserved their win. We had one attempt in the first half and none in the second, can't win games just passing the ball amongst themselves. Three attempts against Birmingham, one on target, was bad enough but today was another level unfortunately. Once again, Dickie and Vyner (to a lesser degree) played well, but least said soonest mended regarding most of the others and I feel sorry for Conway who is being bullied every game in the way he's being asked to play.

  11. Sykes gives it 100% every game for as long as he can, he's probably due a bit of a rest and will no doubt come on for the last 30 mins. I don't see anything wrong with that personally.
  12. Covid affects people differently, my sister is currently bedridden and having a tough time. I've had Covid three times despite all the vaccinations and on one of those times I ended up being transferred to hospital in an ambulance in a bad way. So yes, if it were just a cold I would attend, but I don't want to be responsible for sending someone to hospital if I know I have Covid - that would be stupid. Hence me checking this morning. Not a badge of honour, just being sensible.
  13. Tested positive for Covid this morning (thought it was just a cold), a lot of family have the same, so its a stream for me. Millwall are on a mini-run with two consecutive wins after winning just one of their previous 13 games.Turned a corner ? Last four away is W0, D1, L3, F3, A7, Pts1 so not good, 22nd in away form. City last four at home is W3, D0, L1, F8, A6, Pts9 and 6th in home form. On paper it looks like a home win, but its never as easy as that is it. I would have preferred to have beaten Birmingham before this game (and we really should have). I can see Millwall battling for a point today. Cue 3-0 or 0-3 given my record for predictions...
  14. The only goal in the first leg of the quarter final no less. Good player for us, as was his dad who was also a prolific scorer. Brian died in 2010 from a form of dementia - four years before his dad.
  15. I prefer to think that Norton-Cuffy will have his work cut out with Pring.
  16. Norton-Cuffy aint that good. Watched him a few times for England u19/u20, doesn't play with his head up and has virtually no end product. Wasn't impressed by him at all. He'll be up against Pring and quite confident that Pring will come out on top.
  17. I wouldn't call that rotation tbh.. Much more likely that James will take Williams starting place.
  18. McCrorie will need one or two u21s games I would think.
  19. They're not coming for anyone anytime soon. I think the ladies have had attendances around the 15k mark this season - they can only dream of that in their 11k dump
  20. No, City women have a higher average than Rovers men. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/league-one/attendances The rugby team averaged over 17k last season and got 25k last Friday.
