there's an extra syllable in cider, doesn't fit properly IMO

They actually sing drugs and city - also seems relevant to us considering the huge queues for the nose beers in the toilets Tuesday night

What a whiff I had from the clothing of two guys who were in and out of our row all game. Must have had an affect as I was clapping and singing along with the crowd, now that's not me I'm a miserable bugger.

In the last two games, I have been struck by the positive difference made to the team when the strength, guile, experience and gameplay of Wells has replaced the pace of Bell.

I like Sam and believe he’ll have a big future here but Nahki has know how which can only be gained over time. It’s made me appreciate Nahki all the more.

Felt Nahki's nous and experience would have got him into positions to get on the end of what felt like countless balls cut across the face of goal in the first half. Not saying he should be in front of Bell though.

    Or.
It’s given an opportunity for local residents to park their cars on the streets on Friday night allowing them to let out their off-road drive on the Saturday for an extortionate price.

Thankfully there are enough of these residents letting their drives out for under a tenner, but some are charging waaaayy in excess of that.

And of course the income will be declared on their tax return in April.

Would solve a lot of problems if one of the redeemable items was a £5 gift voucher in the club shop

I always exchanged my £10 starter for a shop voucher and gave it as a Christmas present to the son of my niece. Each time Y was told you can't do that in the shop but replied " well I did last year" and I always got one.

Absolutely, but the desire is key, too.

How many times in the past have we let in a late goal from a set piece?

This by Williams & the collective stuff in the final few minutes at Preston where Weimann, Vyner then Scott all got blocks in to keep the opposition out, is how to turn draws into wins & defeats into draws.

    GJ’s playoff final team (so under appreciated on here) were the absolute masters of it;

Orr, Carey, McCombe, McAllister, with Marvin Elliott in front of them, McIndoe superb at tucking in, Dele as another aerial support, that & by outrunning sides was how they did it.

Fail to see how McIndoe falls into the category of "throwing bodies in the way". Any likelihood of getting near a "meaty" challenge and he turned into an Olympic hurdler.

Of course, it's half term, I expect many were making it a "half way house" to points further west ?

Exactly, there was a youngish couple and their three young boys, all in their Norwich kits, on my bus heading for Weston. The Jewel of the West.

Still find it weird you get the “tickets please” stewards as you walk to the ground.

If I haven’t got a ticket then I’d go to the collections behind them, so with or without tickets I’d need to pass them…

I just ignore them and walk through.

Going in through Ashton Road end a young lady steward asked the wrong question  " have you got a ticket" "yes thank you" I replied. She smiled as I walked past her.

  8. Only spoke to Phillips once. One lunch time I had gone to the Gate pre season to renew my season ticket. Whilst driving out towards Ashton Road the open top car in front stopped and the male driver signalled another open top car driven by a lady, coming into the Gate, to stop and then proceeded to have a conversation. After waiting patiently for a minute or so I got out and politely asked the driver to pull over in order that I could get back to work. It was Phillips, he looked at me as if I was a piece of sh** on his shoe. I got back in my motor and waited patiently for him to move. It was lucky I was in a firm's motor or I would have rammed the arrogant sod after being kept waiting for what seemed an age before he pulled away. He holds my record for being the most contemptible person, in the shortest contact time,  I have ever "met".

Mick McCarthy: Blackpool appoint veteran boss until end of the season

Mick McCarthy left Cardiff City in October 2021 after a run of eight consecutive defeats Mick McCarthy left Cardiff City in October 2021 after a run of eight consecutive defeats

Blackpool have appointed ex-Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy as their new head coach until the end of the season.

The Seasiders, who are 23rd in the Championship, sacked Michael Appleton on Wednesday after a run of one win in 11 league games.

McCarthy, 63, has been out of the game since leaving Cardiff by mutual consent in October 2021.

His first match in charge will be Saturday's home game against fellow strugglers Huddersfield.

McCarthy, who has also managed Millwall, Sunderland, Wolves and Ipswich in England, will be joined by long-serving assistant Terry Connor at Bloomfield Road.

"I'm delighted to be here, I'm delighted to be back in the game," McCarthy said.

"I'm thrilled to be back up at a club where I've had many battles in the past and hopefully we can achieve some of the similar success of those years."

Blackpool are three points adrift of safety and without a win in the Championship since beating Coventry on 29 October. They have only picked up four points from a possible 30 since then.

"From the initial contact with Mick, you sensed an excitement to come to Blackpool yet a calmness and confidence about the job ahead," chief executive Ben Mansford added.

"Mick referred to our superb support from the first conversation and how important the fans will be for the remaining 19 games, starting against Huddersfield on Saturday."
