Never heard of parachute payments?
They cheated FFP to get to the Prem based on their dodgy Russian money, trust me, it makes a lot of difference.
Doesn't help that our club has had money wasted we've not had people at the club that could use the money wisely.. To many average players signed and we are still stuck with them and we now have limited money to sign more quality.. It certainly does make a difference and theyve used the money to there advantage.

Really really disappointing for him and the team. Hope it is not too serious. COYR
His career with us has been doomed from the start,He's a cracking player and would love to see him settle down and get a decent run of games, But I just can't see him being a regular and one that stays fit for any length of time.

Driving the kids to swimming lessons tonight having to suffer "Toon" fans saying how hard done by they've been over the last 14 years and how they'll be in the Champions league final in 10 years time.
Sounds like buying a trophy is really easy
All the money in the world at Man city and they still can't win it.. Not sure what planet these toon fans are on.

So, would we rather have Smodicz back or the three points?
I wouldnt of let him go, but this shows the difference in our squad now we don't fall down and die..In the past we would of just folded 3 points in the bag!!!

Signing 19 players is extraordinary. How can they afford that!?
That's a lot of hamstrings

Tbf- they will need all 19 for when the “back on the grass next week” injuries kick in.
Hysterical how they’ve all fallen for his “open and honest” communication.
if they’re 15th in November, let’s see how “open and honest” he is!
Injuries already have kicked in for them .. Paul cooks hoping over international break they get injured players back( whether that's long term injury or recent this season) and the squad trains hard

He's a C**k and I really dont care

I think both clubs are in the right ball-park, he’s in that £3-5m range imho. Few appearance based add-ons and a sell-on and I think you have to take it.
I think there are players out there that will suit Nige’s team system better.
Whos negotiating this would Ashton still be in this process? It does seem around the right figure and if we can get add-ons and a sell on it would be good business.. It's how we put that money back in the team and now hopefully Pearson can add quality if this happens.

Such obsession with LJ, its pathetic. You wanted him out, and now he is, we are all still obsessed. Huge mistake letting him go.
Huge mistake hiring him in the first place let alone letting him go.

From what I remember - it was accepted that Baldock was going. Didn’t Cotterill only really spend a fee on Agard?
As for SO’D, at that time it was clear we had to cut the cloth. He inherited an expensive and ineffective squad with few assets to recoup money from. He did a LOT of crucial restructuring and made difficult decisions. He also bought in a number of players who we got extraordinary value for money from. He wasn’t popular here but deserves lots of credit imo.
He rubbed the board up the wrong way too because he said it as he saw it.
I really do agree with this I think overall he done a fantastic job especially how much restructuring needed doing not just on first team level.

Ah! the good old days under Danny Wilson...................
Yep the days when we where on the edge of our seats the days we had atmosphere at the gate The days we got to finals seeing younger players in the team seeing tin mans left foot Murray banging in the goals etc etc ok we did miss out but it was certainly better than the dross that's been on show the last 3.5 years and how much have we spent..Quite frankly what's on show now is utter garbage.
