  1. Love a quick cross in, scares the cr4p out of defenders. More please.
  2. If we got a penalty we would probably pass it back to Max first.
  3. There is though, the question of form and confidence. Would Arsenal have put 6 past that same team if it was cruising along and enjoying life heading for promotion? SU have been battered this season and Arsenal have taken advantage of their low morale.
  4. As I was trying to say in my '2 stools' post (not my best choice of words) I don't think LM quite knew what stance to take. I think NP had enough experience to know that you can't be mates with the players. Have a divide, be the boss and then you can dish out a rollicking whenever you like. If you win the league, no one worries about the half time shouting. If the manager tries to be one of the squad in a 'we're all in it together' style, it's great when winning but you have nowhere to go when you need to fire them up. I have seen this outside football. So, in a way, having a bad run could be a force for change, create that authority. A harsh way to learn that lesson though and establishing authority does not guarantee results on it's own.
  5. Fair play to the drone pilot, managing to miss all those pillars....
  6. I wonder if he fell between 2 stools when he took over. If City had been bottom he could have built a siege mentality and talked a hard game where anything good was a bonus. If City had been in the top 6 he would have had a team already with confidence where he could tell them what they want to hear to keep them on track. Instead, being mid table,, he couldn't beat them up and neither could he tell them they were doing everything right.
  7. On a serious note, I think we are all aware of recent tragedies in Bristol. A bit of a scrabble in the park sounds like nothing but could easily become something else. I wonder what the bereaved families would make of those scenes.
  8. Used to be flares on the terraces in the old days too. For me, 32W 31L. So was Saturday not a bubble game?
  9. All I can do today is watch our B team playing Burnley and hope the 2 x ASs have a good game....
  10. Get a big bag of donuts and pass them around your fellow fans. In anyone wants savoury then just post your order on here.
  11. Fast tracking promotion. Sounds great. Why didn't all the other teams in the league think of that? It's easy, right? Their new owners sound very clever.
  12. I have only been on a 3G a couple of times, but my thoughts are that there is probably a very wide spread in terms of quality. A newly laid 3G is a fantastic asset for young players as discussed, with matches one after another all week long and a decent realism to grass. At the other end of the scale an old astro pitch which was probably laid with hockey in mind might as well be tarmac.
  13. The thing is, that twig is probably still there.....
  14. I heard a rumour that there was a 2nd 3G planned for Stanley Park in Chippenham? Is that right?
  15. Last time I looked at Gaschat there was a very popular theme there about comparing themselves to teams such as Luton and Brentford in terms of what could be achieved. Those fantasies are easy to digest because they see that as an possible way to the PL without spending hundreds of millions. The reality of course is that those teams do have some good players that cost 10s of £millions which they will never be able to afford or, if they struck gold with an academy product they would have to sell - as have we.
  16. I know I am stating the obvious but how do you stop this happening if better barriers for those stood up block the view when sitting down?
  17. Good work! On a purile, childish note I should point out that in those days the photos suggest City played in white shorts with a grey shirt, Brentford would gave played in white shorts with grey and white striped shirts. The grass was also grey.
  18. People who drive at night with their headlights set too high. I apologise if this has been mentioned already a hundred times on here. There is a ******* button that adjusts the beam up AND DOWN. Use it please so we don't end up in the ditch. And whilst on the subject, those drivers who think they can fit xenon and LED kits to standard reflectors - it doesn't work because the beam pattern gets scattered, blinding everyone else and making your own view worse than before. Rant over, cheers!
  19. No mention of the missed planning application, the missing seats, the missing concourse, the missing toilets, the unhappy residents, the mud, the pillars. At least the long suffering fans can sit in the dry I guess.
  20. If there is anyone reading this who was stood in the enclosure when Royle scored his 4th and nearly had his eye taken out by my Dads folded umbrella - he was very sorry.
  21. Found the original image, it is Griffin Park, Brentford apparently. My Dad had a cousin in Ealing and they went to at least one City match there around that time. Not sure which team Uncle Bert was supporting though!
  22. Yep, was also wondering that. At first I thought perhaps it was Fratton Park and a Portsmouth shirt but the badge looks like City and an old photo of FP I checked doesn't match. It is a weird looking stand in the back ground so hopefully someone will recognise it.
