Surely a few zero's missing?
Post by amgas on 3 hours agoSuspect Barton could get 10000 Gasheads to go to court and agree with his point of view.
I have some sympathy for Tisdale as he was not given time, but Garner I am afraid had plenty of time to select the players and work with them in pre-season. He and Widdrington are the main culprits for our impending relegation.I think you'll find that they're all zeroes...

Well he has blamed everything and everyone since he’s arrived. He publicly crucified the previous two managers through the clubs media and that obviously had wallys backing as it helps take the blame of him. Such a little amateur basket case of a club . What is it with suing and Bristol Rovers. The gift
Maybe he's worked out that the club is a basket case and he's being a pain to try getting compromised out. Mutual agreement, personal reasons etc. - plenty of clubs up north where he could work. Easy to do...

I know this isn't anything to do with the takeover, but it is Burnley and it needs to be seen.
If only all press conferences were like this:

Wasn't much hugging and kissing going on in the Bristol and District in my day. Just banning that when players are still tackling each other, still jumping for the same ball, still hooking up for defensive walls seems pointless. If they are to strictly observe the rules then football must stop - it's a contact sport.
Despite all the safeguards there still seem to be a lot of Covid cases on football, so precautions dont seem to be working that well.
Of course it's good for us to watch the game, but then again you can see some not taking social distancing seriously when they see what happens in football. Sadly, another stop to football seems a sensible inevitability to me.

Looking at the numbers you could see season ticket holders having the option of choosing to attend one in two games or not or get game by game refunds. That might leave a few left over for non ST holders. Concourses and catering might be a bit awkward but you can imagine very organised queuing and servers behind screens. Of course it's not perfect but we all need to be a bit flexible. If the club can make it work, then they and the players could do with the support. Count me in, it will be great to get back!

Well by gas logic 7,000 is probably dull capacity for them because they always sell out and have the best support in
The Memorial Stadium has a capacity of 12,300, they've been told.

With people giving so much money to NHS charities at the moment, I wonder what the impact is on other charities?
Given that as an entity, the NHS shouldn't (if it correctly funded by taxation) require any additional funding it's both great that people are giving to them, but I hope other charities aren't suffering as a result.
And unless the family agree for his confidential medical records to be public, you won't know.
The effect is disastrous. Am told that charitable giving is generally down by around 40%. I am currently involved trying to raise money for Alzhzeimers through a golf club I am a member of and even gone to the extent of creating a JustGiving page. Have been talking to them a fair bit of late and their income is massively down and it is having an effect. It is almost impossible to even try for anything other than the NHS. Frustrating beyond belief.

Thank you - a very enjoyable few minutes:
What could we do to get you to arrive earlier: Earlier kick off times.
What could we do to improve your overall experience: Disband

Why can I never read ‘ Dido ‘ as ‘ Dido ‘ ?
She must be a worried woman:

Dodi died.
The dodo died.
I imagine that Dido must be bricking herself.

Any chance of Essex win probably went with those late wickets and losing time to bad light. Optimistic to think Warks can take 14 wickets tomorrow but if they strike early who knows
Spot on. Mind you, I suppose there could be a couple of declarations to set up a last day run chase. Unikely, but certainly not impossible. (Warks are just about mathematically safe so guess there's no real motivation for them).

I think Sky usually televise one of the last round of games each year. They'll surely have to go for the ir love in with Surrey Som/Essex match
So, does that mean that Somerset can stream their games free all year (as they are now for the Yorkshire game) and then have to stop if Sky choose to take the fixture? Makes no sense to me at all but then again I don't know anything about the deal that allows Somerset to stream free.
-
Well, I've been occasionally looking in on Somerset live games through the match centre on their web site. Think live games have been available for some time though and don't know why the Essex game would be any different. I know nowt though, as we say in Yorkshire.

Will the Essex game be on sky? Sure they usually show the last game.
Sorry, won't it be on the usual stream? (Have been watching the Yorkshire game live this morning and I think that all games have been shown so far. No idea what the deal is though).

Maharaj to open the bowling for Yorkshire!!

Yorkshire 9 down but Coad is injured/ill so won't bat.
Essex have taken 3 wickets this morning.
…. and he won't bowl either!
96 is a huge lead on this wicket.

Yorkshire 92-6. Ball helping both spinners and seamers alike. This match isn't going to a fourth day and would say that Somerset are now favourites.

Yorks must be thinking however - Essex lose, beat Somerset and then looking at the last game being between Som/Ess that they could sneak under the radar, no?
Oh, definitely yes. All Yorkshire really care about is the County Championship. Must admit to being surprised the way they started their innings - very quick scoring, look to max their batting points and force a win. All a bit gungh-go though.

Interesting day at Taunton. Difficult conditions to start with - very overcast and the ball doing a bit with a slow outfield due to yesterday's rain. Yorkshire put Somerset in, so that's a bit of a clue. The dark clouds went, the outfield started to dry and batting became a bit easier. Worth noting that Maharaj, Yorkshire's spinner, bowled one third of their overs and took 5 wickets. The day finished with Somerset operating with spinners at each end. (Bess and Van De Merwe). Mark my words - if Yorkshire are left with 200 to get in the 4th innings then they're in trouble. This match could go either way - but Somerset need a decent day tomorrow.
With Essex looking to be struggling to win vs Warks this could be a very good week for Somerset.
My money and hopes are still firmly on Somerset for the title (and this from a long-standing Yorkshire cricket supporter).

4 down now. Very overcast and the ball doing a fair bit.

Every player from what squad went on to play in the top tier..?
Is that correct..? Incredible if true, but surely not every player in a Bristol Rovers squad went on to play at the top table..?!
Rather funny that no “current” Rovers player has ever played there.... but is his claim true or is it the usual deluded lies..?!
Don't think so....

Congratulations Somerset - brilliant stuff. This could be a very special season and a good chance of a first County Championship. All the best from his Yorkshire cricket supporter.
Btw, have absolutely no idea why Hildreth hasn't had multiple Test appearances. Very odd.

Sorry, struggling to understand what difference it makes whether he's declared dead not from the point of view of payment being made. Cardiff bought him from Nantes and he was Cardiff's player when he died. I can understand that Cardiff might have a problem making an insurance claim before a declaration but no idea what that is to do with Nantes.

No doubt they're hoping that the ESL goes ahead with (now) 4 English clubs kicked out of the Prem and, hey presto, Rovers move up 4 places and avoid relegation.
