He'll be bailing clubs out of relegation battles until he's triple digits mark my words

I don't doubt it, but he's too old now for a whole season's effort.

Was at the game last night. Huddersfield were overrun in the first half. No idea what Warnock said to them at half time but they were very good after the break - high energy, pressed well and got forward quickly. Brilliant strike by Danny Ward for the goal. Warnock went off through a guard of honour. 18th now on 50 points with one to go. Amazing stuff from Mr Warnock.

Not many people in the world can brag about only needing to work about 6 weeks out of the year.. There will always be a job for him come late March early April!

He's 74. Most people that age don't work at all.

I won’t knock the club for this specific incident as such, as many people wouldn’t have got the reference (I didn’t). That said, any club (or company) allowing public broadcasting of messages should be doing some kind of filtering - and it’s a potential risk if that’s down to an individual.

There’s technical solutions available to automate this

But how far would you go with filtering? For example, would you check that people reported as passed on actually have?

(Btw, It seems we have reports of deaths and other family messages at every home game these days, which I think is a fairly new development for us - personally not sure it's a great idea).

  4. Well done you, and ignore the critics.

A mate of mine once promised his wife a trip to the Peak District and lunch out. He took her to watch Huddersfield play at Chesterfield and bought her a pie.

Compared to that you are treating your wife as the princess she doubtless is.

Hope you have a great day.

I agree, but the way around it is to have more staff processing those claims so migrants/refugees are quickly assessed and either returned or allowed to live where they want in the country and earn money and pay taxes.

Very few are in "luxury" hotels, most are in run-down B&Bs in parts of the country where no one wants to go on holiday. They get £40 a week and are forbidden from working until their asylum claims are assessed.

Just shorten the process from months to days or weeks, then prolonged stays that neither the migrants or the taxpayers want take place.

Thing is, the government wants UK voters to be angry about this issue.  They figure somehow their deliberate incompetence on immigration, combined with meaningless rhetoric - flights to Rwanda costing £240,000 per person - is somehow a vote winner for them.

Agree that ideally the initial process needs to get down to 'days or weeks'. One of the issues would be the small industry of lawyers engaging in lengthy appeals processes. Perhaps we need some sort or triage process so that those that aren't fleeing war or persecution can be returned straight away. Suspect.a change of law might be necessary, not to mention issues with ECHR.

At a time where councils complain their budgets are stretched and they need to increase council tax and cut services, is it right to be handing cash to a private business with demonstrably wealthy owners?

Quick answer: yes. the investment will bring jobs in the construction itself, more visitors, more jobs in leisure. All in all, a bit of growth in an area that very much needs it.

(As an aside, I would add that the many local councils that I've had dealings with over the years have been fantastically incompetent and wasteful. I'm not saying they don't face difficult problems but running things properly would be a decent start. Don't know many folk who think Bristol City Council is well run. Anyhoo, that's a whole different thread).

  7. Can't really see a problem here - there's already a number council owned/funded stadia. Wrexham has staged Wales matches over the years, and am sure could be described a the biggest stadium in North Wales. Maybe the locals think that the investment will bring business and jobs into the town - probably correctly. Good luck to 'em.

Surely there is now no reason for Radio Bristol to interrupt City coverage for a Conference South club 50 miles away?

I would have thought the local radio station should cover the likes of Yeovil as well as league clubs.

There's enough complaints about the media's obsession with the Prem to the detriment of clubs like City. Surely this is just the same issue but down a level or two.

Wasn’t Cornick’s man…he was watching Ryan Giles.  Just watched it back.

Poor tracking initially by Sam Bell on Tommy Smith.  Half-hearted, thinking he’s got him covered, but Smith has the half a yard he needs.  Tough to blame Tanner, Vyner and Pring either, 3 on 2 (Tanner on Crooks, Pring to block the low cross, Vyner with Akpom).  Ramsay free, shit happens.  Most goals are a result of situational overloads in a passage of play.  It’s kinda how we get our goals too.

Not unlike Ian is it to want to take away some credit from a player who’s had a good game? ?

Interesting watching Cornick yesterday. Obviously did his stuff up front, but was quite often back supporting in the right had side and covering Tanner. A few have said that Tanner was out of position too often. Not sure about that - personally thought that Tanner was tucking in trying to help Andy King out and Cornick was helping with the gap that was left. All in all. Cornick put in a hell of a shift yesterday, quite apart from the goal and he assist, Good to see.

  10. Thoroughly enjoyed this season - we are now good to watch, can see progress been made and all with our own players (no loans). The only frustration has been the number of ridiculous, totally avoidable mistakes made early on in the campaign, without which we'd be around the playoffs now, With Scott and a few others moving on the next window will be crucial - my worry for the next year or two is our Board - they need to get Nige's contract extended and back him in the window (assuming we will be clear of FFP issues).

Doesn't sound like much enthusiasm for his current deal/offer but as long as he keeps up his levels and maybe improves a bit am sure he'll get a better deal. "We'll see what happens" sounds like he's open to staying longer for the right deal.

Out of interest, did you pick up on Kellen Fisher (#35) the Bromley RB / RWB?  Getting a bit of attention from PL Scouts allegedly.

... forgot to add he was very good going forward as well and he's got a decent pass in him. As I've already said Bromley should have been 3 up in the first 15 minutes. All the trouble was coming down the right, including the set up for the early goal.

Highlights (but bear on mind Yeovil have also got a player called Fisher to confuse things):

Yes, he looked good - always positioned well and never beaten. Always difficult to tell - he was up against an opponent who had reasonable skills but always came inside before running into traffic. Not once was he tested by someone trying to get down the line. (Shumumni himself was that side as well and he looked better than National League standard).

Enjoyed watching Bromley but Yeovil weren't much of a test.

  16. Went to see Yeovil vs Bromley last weekend. Yeovil were dreadful. A couple of decent players and a number of new signings that hadn't even trained together, let alone played together. Defence look like they'd never met, going forward had no energy and carried no threat. Bromley should have been 3 up after 15 minutes.

Mark Cooper said afterwards in his interview that the new owner was buying the players he wanted (the owner that is).

Sadly, relegation looking very likely - a pity for the very pleasant fans I was sat with.

(On the bright side £5 in, good pasty and Bromley had a player called Shuwumni, which brought back the odd memory).
