    The last time the delluded morons had a season average ABOVE 10K was over 40 years ago in 1976!

    • The last time Reading had an average BELOW 10K was 2000
    • The last time Swansea had an average BELOW 10K was 2005
    • The last time Brighton had average BELOW 10K was 2011
    • The last time Hull had an average BELOW 10K was 2002

    So in most cases its been nearly 20 years of these clubs being bigger - so I'd argue that in every instance they have been left far behind and history means very little.

    I'll acknowledge that in those previous 40 seasons there may have been cases that those clubs had lower attendances (especially when brighton were at a low ebb), but it's been a long time since that, and ALL of those clubs have far outperformed the gas attendance wise. How "historical" do they want to get?

    The other conclusion of course could be that they are actually bigger, but their fans are just shit and fans of other clubs are far more loyal and actually turn up to watch their team play.

    Agreed. Plus, if you REALLY want to go THAT far back, why not go just a bit further?

    Barton likens the first ten minutes to being like starring in Fawlty Towers.

    Maybe he's a better manager than we think.

    Ten minutes of moaning about the ‘referee conspiracy’ three minutes moaning about predecessors (who BOTH have better win ratios than him) and then says “we have no one to blame, except ourselves”. If that’s true, stop moaning about the referees every week Richard-Head.

    Weird I never knew rovers first entry to league 2 (old division 3) came in 2000! I started watching in 98 but always assumed they had been bouncing around down there for years before.

    I noticed them saying that. League 2 is Division 4 old money.

    prem = Div 1

    champ = div 2

    lge 1 = div 3

    lge 2 = div 4

    they’re not even down yet and are airbrushing history. We’ll be hearing more about ‘Tier 5’ again soon, no doubt.

    Oh yes, they sure would be prowed

    What, BOTH of them?

  5. Is it just me in thinking that the overwhelming reason Blue won the vote at this time is because that is the colour most closely identified with the NHS?

    All sorts of thing have been lit blue to say thanks to the NHS (including Ashton Gate) and so blue is an obvious choice.  Now, the fact that the next most popular choice was RED, well...

    Since the redevelopment Ashton Gate has been lit up Blue plenty of times whether with the Rugby or NHS so lighting the Bridge blue is really not going to worry folks too much I think.
