They believe what someone tells them ,it doesn't have to be true, you keep saying it enough times you will believe it .

No need to question or reason the information, if it's want you wanted to hear ,then it must be true. Sad mind !!

    For example...

”The contract we have with Sainsbury’s is watertight”.

Where would they go in Bristol if the ground was sold? League can't stop the ground sale.

Fruit Market. Mahoosive 40,000 seat stadium so almost 50% of their ‘true fan base’ can go to the games, as long as they don’t have to give up too many seats to tin-pot away teams like Sunderland and Bolton.

  3. Lee Johnson. Club stalwart and decent managerial reputation at Oldham then Barnsley.

Steve Cotterill, good reputation at Cheltenham, Forest etc etc etc

Sean O’Driscoll, (before joining us) pedigree as one of the best coaches outside the PL

    versus

    Scooby Doo, ex Salisbury then

Father Ted, ex God knows where,

now the Academy Manager (basically a Scout Leader).

    Mind the Gap.

I know a few former Fewers who are now season ticket holders for the Bears.

Apparently a rugby season ticket is good value for money.

Steady on Rob. Growing up in Midsomer Norton, Bath Rugby was always going to be the oval ball team for me. #WeAreNotAllAssholes ?

edit quoted wrong person (might be an asshole after all) ?

Spouting their ‘unique’ bollox again I see, I wonder if this Fewer knows where their amazing nickname originated from? Your nickname is about as unique as your ‘famous quarters’, that no one bar yourselves take zero notice of.

That one who says he never refers to them as ‘The Gas’ calls himself Pusey GAS. So you NEVER use that term huh?

Different structure and times maybe, and it probably wouldn't do them much good in the long run but it is worth noting that clubs voted out of Football League during days of re-election didn't necessarily fold immediately.

Southport were elected out of the football league (in favour of Wigan) in 1978, but still exist, still have a stadium and still play home games every other Saturday.  It doesn't have to be the end for Bury.  Hope it isn't.

  7. Reading the story of the Bury collapse is no cause for celebration for Rovers. The rescue failed because of a loan charge secured against Gigg Lane. Short of ‘Doing a Derby’, Rovers fans really have no cause to High-Six each other. Sounds to me an AWFUL lot like their situation.

Quite rare that- usually Northern clubs got ejected/voted out for Southern ones- doubtless there's a list somewhere.

I used to work with the Chairman of Wigan at that time. That particular year the Football League were v keen not to dilute the NW contingent. If a Southern Team had finished bottom if Div 4 that year, Wigan mightn’t have gotten in. Because Southport is less than 20 miles from Wigan, it was felt to be OK so Wigan took there place.

    Though they're back!

Brilliantly, got promoted back in 40 years after the bankruptcy of the original- brilliant in a symbolic sense, and I think Oxford replaced them in the League. Well their promotion would have been all the sweeter as when they returned in 2006, Oxford went down.

Interestingly there are a number of those original clubs still in existence in non League- add to that Barrow, Gainsborough, Southport and Workington all voted out at varied times. Reformed versions of some of the others of course but glad to see some of those e.g. the 3 I listed, had a quick look and both Glossop and Nelson still exist- Darwen went bust but very quickly reformed and still play in their own ground- half a continuity.

    Southport were replaced by Wigan.

and remember that Phil Gartside wanted to create Premier League 1&2 with no promotion or relegation from the EFL.

    Now we see why.

Shame is, one week of the salary that the Chinese were going to pay Bale would save Bolton and Bury.

    Football is very broken.

I was on this forum a few months ago, Aprilish under the name "Bodin." I'm more the debating type if anything, but I was told this forum wasn't the place to rationally debate City fans because it's intended to irrationally take the piss and nit-pick over everything the Gas does so I left. But if by playing nice you mean am I going to go guns blazing like Gas we go in marching or whatever his name is has, then unfortunately I'm not the sort, I know City are a bigger club than us and have a better set up than we'll ever have. I just came here to ask a question that not only undermines Rovers, but the whole football fan experience. I've seen a lot of criticism for the way some of the Rovers fans acted yesterday, I thought a lot of it was disgusting. I made the personal choice to respect what Taylor accomplished for the club and why he left, even if I still don't understand his logic behind the timing of the move, and so I didn't boo and I clapped him when he clapped us whilst going off the pitch. But I see a lot of generalisation of this forum that the actions of a few idiots on Gaschat, twitter, and at the Mem reflect the ideologies of all our fans. And in fact we've been one of the biggest critics of this as a fanbase.

A City fan on Facebook posted regarding Junior Agogo's death "What will his funeral song be? Wake me up before Agogo?" The post received 18 likes I believe. Meanwhile, on this forum a lot of you posted praising Agogo and respecting his death, something which was very sincere. In the same way City fans have a few idiots but the large majority are completely different, the same is true for Rovers. Like I said this isn't even a Rovers or a City issue really, the actions of a few idiots give a false impression of what the majority of the fanbase is like.

The too long didn't read version is, the actions of a couple Rovers fans don't reflect the actions and ideologies of the Rovers fanbase as a whole.

Welcome. It would be nice if we could actually debate reasonably. We get some Gasheads on here who are valued contributors like @Miah Dennehy for example. Hopefully, it will be the same with you.

Whilst I get your point Nketiah didn't leave us because he never played for us. Much better comparisons are Tomlin and Reid, who albeit I have heard a lot of abuse towards I'm not going to lie. The ***** definitely aren't a family club, on a separate note  is anyone really a family club anymore? Every fanbase has mongrels now that I think the term is worthless.

That’s why I put ‘leave’ in quotes. We felt let down by Eddie and they felt let down that we had had the temerity to activate the (publicised by them) release clause in Taylor’s contract. The sense of let down was probably commensurate but the reactions weren’t.

Hi Bob, glad you enjoy reading out forum. You loser. :)

He can only read your forum. Any time anyone of us tries to post anything we get banned. Your forum is like the Soviet Union. Yet we let you come on here spouting your moronic bile.

  13. Difference between us.

Nketiah ‘leaves’ us for Leeds, reaction on here “I hope his loan there is a failure and he comes to regret it”.

Taylor leaves them for us then goes to Oxford and gets injured, reaction on there “ I hope it’s career ending”.

    Family club huh?

Mind you, wouldn’t surprised me if those morons south of the river abused her. After all, they’ve defaced a memorial how many times? The fact that they tried buying tickets for the Oxford end says it all
    Sad bunch, still obsessed"

Just out of interest. Did ANY City fans try to go to the Swamp today?

Presumably, in the ENTIRE history of football, a player has NEVER returned with his new team to a former club.

When Flint, Joey and Bobby come to ashton Gate later this year, the ONLY issue will be if their applause is merely polite or something more enthusiastic.

Sue him for lost revenues?  If they cap it at 8,000 then Matty will have put 800 ON the gate.

    This is superb.

How disgusting of City, Oxford and Matty Taylor for not taking into consideration the the feelings of butthurt, bedwetting Sagheads when when this transfer went through. The FA should’ve done something really....

Always the victims, it’s never their fault...

So if their troglodytes cause trouble, it’s City’s fault?
