  1. I'm only telling you what was said by presenter on the radio programme. You are of course allowed to not believe it. Perhaps you are correct and it is bullshit. He did however do his best to get sacked, with various public moans and, if you or I were sacked, would we get compensation? Especially if we'd bad mouthed the bosses policy and lack of investment publicly. I expect he was asked to resign.
  2. No, just resigned. No mention of a gagging order. That said they could have a gentlemen's agreement but, that would take gentlemen. Pure speculation but, if Wael had threatened him with the sack over misconduct, say for speaking about the clubs lack of investment, amongst other things, then he might have had to resign with a gagging agreement, or, face the sack for misconduct, which isn't good on his CV. Either way, no compensation.
  3. There was a phone in yesterday morning, the presenter John Darvall? was talking to a woman Rovers supporter that lived in Portishead. He asked for her views on several points, then went on to say that Will Hosken? had confirmed this morning that, DC had received no compensation, as he had resigned.
  4. Heard in an interview with a fan from Portishead on RB that Will Hosken confirmed DC was paid no compensation, he resigned with about four years remaining on his contract. Add to that Stewart also left with no compensation, as he asked to be relieved of his position and, Wael has made a saving of two wages and a reduction in contract length by employing the Irishman. So, even if he's on an increased wage, it will be an overall saving for the club.
  5. They've effectively saved two wages in DC and MS, less any compensation they might have paid DC. So, this is a money saving exercise, that'll go hand in hand to stave off administration this season, with the hope that they'll sell a few early bird STs to allow continuation of trading. They are muddling along with no long term plan, other than the one to win this months lottery.
  6. Kidding aren't you? My first job was in a warehouse, 2nd as a plumbers mate, third as a labourer, then I trained to be a plumbing and heating engineer.?
  7. I think you and possibly others have misunderstood my intention. So, let's nip this in the bud. At no point did I say that people in those occupations are thick. I preceded my statement with the word "Gasheads", and went on to say how "they were thick gullible village idiot types", referring to those Gasheads that I've met in those jobs, not, all people in those occupations. I know plenty of people of high intelligence who work in those occupations but, the fact of the matter is that, the qualifications required for those occupations is not as high as in other forms of employment, so it's more likely that you'll get a thick, gullible, village idiot gashead in one of those occupations than say, as a doctor, teacher, mechanic or wherever higher qualifications are required. So please don't get offended for other people, especially when no offence was intended
  8. It's been bullshit from day one. Everything stated by Wael has been a thinly disguised part statement with not a single hard fact in any of them. It's always a question of, we're working hard, these things take time, can't divulge anything because of breach of confidence, we're working on the plans, we want the best, we're in discussions. All utter bull shit, and long may it continue to hoodwink those dimwits.
  9. Makes a change mind, all previous administrations laid the blame solely at the feet of Bristol City Council. Even though they never put a single planning application for a new stadium to BCC. Bristol Council even got the blame for their failed bid in Mangotsfield under South Glos and, their failed bid at Severnside when their consultants failed to ask the question about whether a stadium could be built in what was an industrial area. Now they're just saying we've failed with one attempt but can't say where it was, why the hell not?
  10. There is another group of Gasheads. They are the dustmen, ice cream sellers, warehouse cleaners and labourers, who are thick, gullible, village idiot types, who, are mouthy, up themselves, full of shit, arrogant, verbally violent, smarmy assholes who think they're superior but, are too thick to realise they're inferior.
  11. They'll have sold any valuable assets by then and, by the time he realises there's nowt in the pot, or even a pot, the transfer window will be shut.
  12. I didn't say they hadn't invested, I actually said, "their only investment had been from ticket/player sales", so effectively not their own investment and was referring to projects, other than purchases of land/property. I then said that the only investment they had made (omitting the original purchase) had been for the colony, which was a speculative deal and like the rugby ground was secured against the property. So they haven't actually spent any of their own money, they've just invested in some property. No wires crossed, just put differently.
  13. Which is exactly what I have said in my previous posts. There is no risk or very little to their investments, as they are secured against property which is increasing in value (at the moment). I have never said any of their investment was for Rovers benefit and I've never compared their investment to that of SL. I don't know where you are coming from when you correct my interpretation of events, when it is the same as yours.
  14. I can only assume that it was put forward by a well minded person and they (al Quadi's) thought, why not? It was worth a punt. Keeps the fans interested by stating they're building a new training ground and, they're likely to make money if they can waffle on for a few years to keep the mindless ones happy, then sell it with PP for housing as it doesn't meet their training requirements. These things take time mind, it's not all smoke and mirrors, especially if it's not from the club, it could be rumours.
  15. Not sure what's not entirely true and they have the rugby ground and the colony to show for it.. When you say spent, would you purchase something like a re sellable asset and say it's spent, as opposed to invested? Because the term spent, means it's gone. That is most certainly not the case as, any money gone from their accounts, has been secured against the assets, so is effectively still there and, in this case increasing in value.
  16. This sounds very much a case of the owners carrying out a damage limitation exercise. They just could not let Clarke undermine their non plans with his vocal outbursts, which effectively was telling the fans that the owners had no intention to invest any money into the team or ground. The only investment has been from ticket/player sales, apart from the purchase of the colony, which they hope to gain PP on for housing, as the adjacent site is planned to be developed, just like the rugby ground, it's secured investment. Clarke knows they don't have any money, so he's shouted loud now and they've had to act and pay him off, with whatever they could get away with. They probably thought that nice man Marcus Stewart would take on the mantle but, he's burst their bubble and jacked. Clarke has got out with his reputation relatively intact and a bit of a pay off, and the owners look like they've finally been rumbled, along with their smokescreen non descript, non committed Chairman and CEO.
  17. If anyone started such a group, they would instantly be outed as gert shitheads, and be ostracised. As it's not possible for such a true and loyal group of best fans in the world to have such dissenters within their midst, so they must be Teds. Long may that head in the sand attitude continue.
  18. Agreed but, the wreck I refer to is still a wreck and is there for all to see, apart from a few,. They are known as the fewers.
  19. More like the Mary Rose, lot's of dead wood, down in the depths. Now resurrected as a wreck for people to look down on.
  20. Don't be mean to them. They only have history.
  21. Definitely Trumpton, season we were both promoted, 89/90. Some habits die hard.
  22. You have to take the offenders into a special room.
  23. Is that an agreement you have Bert? Let's hope it's watertight.
