  3. Very true. And, a lot more recently than that, the days when most of the discussion about it was about how much money we were wasting on it. Fair play to SL for sticking to his guns, and sticking with it. It’s another of the decisions he’s called right in the end. And - assuming he was involved - in Tinnion an appointment he’s got right on the footballing side.

  6. Only paper talk, I know. But it would make me laugh if this happened. If only because of all the discussion on here about whether he struggled with the transition from Monaco to Bristol. Burnley FFS! At least there’s a marina in Portishead!
  7. Big game for Han and Auxerre next week. Between Auxerre and Nantes for the final relegation place, Auxerre have a two point advantage, although their goal difference is much worse, so effectively one point. Both at home on the final day, Nantes to the bottom side and Auxerre to the side in 2nd place! Interesting.
  8. It’s a Fire…….Portishead
  9. The Southern version of Wigan v Blackpool!
  10. Yep, I think so too. I’d rather lose Luton than Coventry. And to be fair to Luton, out of the 360 minutes that we’ve played both those teams this season, the first 45 minutes at Luton was the only time either of them really impressed. They were very good. But my money would be on Coventry. With the anticipation of seeing Kasey Palmer and - possibly - Jay Dasilva in the PL!
  11. Now you are being silly!!
  12. One of the worst away days I can remember. We were at Huddersfield lunchtime kick off - and we were truly awful that day. Then had to drive all the way home listening to one goal after the other going in……….
  13. Wasn’t there another club once who spent only 20 minutes in a relegation spot all season and got relegated out of the league as a result? Can’t for the life of me think who though…..
  14. I don’t see anyone “making excuses”. What he did was wrong and he’s been punished as a result. It’s simply about looking at the circumstances, understanding what happened and why, and also recognising that he might need help to deal with an illness. A century ago soldiers who couldn’t cope with what they experienced on the battlefield were shot for desertion. Nowadays we recognise PTSD and treat them accordingly. Is that “society today…..making excuses”?
  15. At least the pitch is looking better……

  17. A good point. And in the right positions too. Potentially (depending on summer business) we have a relatively young and inexperienced back line. Plus, JB is a pretty versatile player so could bring that experience to play elsewhere.
  18. Blimey! I was just about to suggest looking there ?? Makes you wonder what’s wrong with that £6.10 one!

  21. Stretching the theme of this thread….but this is some car! https://www.rte.ie/news/newslens/2023/0523/1385127-full-size-lego-ferrari-goes-on-display-in-denmark/
  22. I’d agree: very, very unlikely! There was some discussion on the Retained thread about the possibility, but I think that boat has long sailed. He’s established himself fairly quickly in a Ligue1 side, has been getting good reviews, he’s continued his progress through the French international under 18s, 19s,20s and now plays for the U21s. He’ll have other options on the table without a shadow of doubt. Why would he come back to a side that clearly plays a style and a game plan that doesn’t suit his strengths (although I think he’d be far happier in the midfield 3 we now play). No criticism there of either him or us - it’s just the way it’s worked out.
