  1. Had it on RB coming home from work and the commentator remarked that the wind and rain could hopefully cause an abandonment. Jolly Keith Brookman , the cheeriest, optimistic Sag you could meet said " No thanks, that would mean we have to come back"

The signs are there.  They've been there for quite some time. It's never been enforced there on match days - there was a thread at the time wondering whether they would be, but I think its all gone quiet since and just assumed that a blind eye was being turned.

Yet another example where it really doesn't do any harm on a matchday - and now that's another 50 or so cars having to drive round trying to find somewhere else - likely in Long Ashton, where it will become a problem.

Except that they will be replaced by another 50 cars that currently park elsewhere, unaware of the restrictions and so it will go on.

On a personal basis, I steadfastly refused to clap Russell Osman. Disliked him then and time is no barrier.

Mark Shail appears to have aged better than anyone else.

Interesting that they came out in positional order after the coaching team other than one man.

But I’m sure there were more players mooted - Scott and Edwards I’m sure were on the guest list originally?

And, where the hell were Junior Bent and Liam Robinson??

    Why wasn't Bruce Grobbelaar there?

Have thought this for a few years now

Their actions do not match those of owners who have that drive and ambition to succeed.

Considering how bad our pr is and their inability to communicate well with local media they would get ripped apart on the national stage (top six squad comment would get laughed at for example)

Think they are quite happy where they are in their comfort zone (no idea why as only way to get some return on investment is through promotion to the prem?!?)

Lansdown would sh1t himself if we ever went up. He would have to spend big money even to just compete at that level.

Yep, they were supposed to go on sale at 10am iirc, got down there at 6am with my mate and the queue was from the Williams ticket office, onto Ashton Road and way back past the Dolman entrance.

They were selling 4 tickets per person so people were buying them, going to the back of the queue and offering them for double face value, that's how we managed to get tickets in the end.

They were sold from the portacabin which used to be the shop, in front the Williams main entrance but yes, the queue was that long at 6am.

IIRC After the Walsall PO Semi 2nd leg  , we got back from Walsall and immediately began queueing for tickets, and overnight ,  for the Play Off  back at Walsall on the Monday

And they started selling tickets two hours before the advertised opening time as they could see there were more in the queue than tickets available.

Get this post to Jon Lansdown. It illustrates in two paragraphs why the cheap under 12 Season Ticket system is flawed. People are openly abusing the good intentions of the club and it illustrates why the South Stand has waves of empty seats each match.

Maybe there should be a way of stopping someone buying a cheap child's ticket, if it wasn't used for say, 60% of matches the previous season.

Yes, good shots of the stadium, particularly the old "Cowshed" stand where the Dolman is now. There doesn't appear to be anything down the side where the Williams stand was/ Lansdown is now, was that due to bombing in the war, or was it just like that originally?
