Personally I think he did recognise at least that they didn’t play well enough. He said forget about tactics, we didn’t get the basics right, but he didn’t appear to have any self awareness of possible poor sub decisions or lack of adaptability in approach to play. Once again there didn’t seem to be a pan B. Subs also aren’t always automatically the answer.
He knew how QPR would play he didn’t underestimate them, it just felt like he didn’t change anything, when it was obvious what we were doing wasn’t working. And this has been a criticism of him in other games.
Mebude Little Boy Lost.
i think we actually missed Mehmeti after he was subbed, cos he was at least creating something. And to not use Twine but bring on Cornick and Mebude when the thing we were missing was any creativity.
No one was being brave or taking initiative. I’d struggle to call a MOTM tbh.
HE didn't get his basics right! Initial team selection and substitutions were inept and clueless

We were in this exact situation just after Christmas, riding high off the back of successive wins against top 6 challengers. Then came Brum and Millwall where we got one point and no goals.
Same situation today, and many said beforehand (only partly tongue in cheek) that it would be very us to labour and lose. As of course came to pass.
I know we’re not the professional coaches but any ideas what we should be doing differently? Or is it a case of giving LM the windows he needs to build a possession squad given we currently have a squad assembled for transitional play. Which would of course mean another year or more of stagnation, as we’re all too familiar with in the Lansdown reign!
Yep, playing our strongest team

Reading LM post-match comments, think we will see Sykes and Twine from the start next Saturday.
Ah yeah but then the bench won't be as strong and before the game that's all most were focused on!

They should be getting a rocket at HT
He should be bollocking himself for that team selection
Showed QPR no respect and getting what he deserved with that selection I'm afraid

The park and ride isn't 24/7.
From memory the times don't often suit night games..
There is little logic with our councils. Not fit for purpose.
The park and rides are superb in the clubs defence
They sort of circle the ground so how they are not convenient for some and they prefer to trawl around Ashton trying to get closer is beyond me

Strongest bench we have had this season
Only because the 3 starting up front shouldn't be!

Portway park and ride is superb, if you get the first bus to Ashton gate it's only £1 return!

Did the QE2 from Southampton - Maderia,Canaries, Spain, Gibralta, Portugal (that was a while back)also Costa Fortuna around the Med from Savona (Italy) ..Rome, Egypt, Cyprus, Greece etc; there were "rough bits on both Bay of Biscay and from Greece back to Italy huge ships but huge waves. Summer time should be ok though The North Sea can still be rough at times.
Also watch out for hidden gratuities/service charges which can mount up, apart from that everything you want will be on the ship and the size will amaze you, Food, meals and service are to die for, you will want to go again.
Was hoping to do that same trip as you but funds and other stuff have got in the way....so far, have a great time, you wont forget it.
No hidden gratuities on P & O all included in the price, it's very transparent what you pay, can also keep up with what you spend on board via their app

Wife just reminded me that we always book the early sitting for dinner as it gives more time to take in the shows etc.
Great advise we did the same!

Hi all,
We’ve just booked our first ever cruise, on P&O Iona to the Norwegian Fjords in summer 2025. It’ll be me, my wife and our two kids who’ll be 14 (boy) and 11 (girl) at the time.
Excited about it but also slightly nervous - we’ve never considered ourselves to be “cruise people”, but it’s a great value family holiday and clearly a great way to see the Fjords. We’ve booked a balcony cabin. We haven’t booked a drinks package because we’re not big drinkers (generally maybe one with dinner and another at the bar later) so didn’t think it looked good value for us.
Really keen to hear people’s hints and tips to make the most of it - cruising generally but also Iona and the Fjords specifically.
Cheers!
Hi Mate
Did our first ever cruise last year with p and o on Ventura went to Spain, Portugal and Guernsey and after all our apprehensions we loved it and can't wait to go again!
We didn't do drinks package either, drinks were cheaper on board than they are at hall and Woodhouse in portishead!
You are wise to not tick the upgrade, we choose a cabin similar to what you have and it was fantastic, the balcony is a great option
Loads for everyone, including kids to do, I'm sure you will love it.
You going from Southampton?

To be fair, I guess they’ve scheduled so much this week because it’s half term.
The works on the A369 are more tree works, ash dieback. So they’ve got to be done.
What’s a pain if you live in Portishead is that they’ve chosen the same week to close Naish Hill for two days.
I just go through portbury, they are all roughly the same anyway

I've never seen so many people moan as I have since manning took charge. Some of the flack he has took is a joke. New to this standard and club it would always take a bit of time. We have put good performances in the cup and if we can replicate that in the league we will do well. Watford away was outstanding and today was also pretty spot on from the small part i watched ( I was working today)
I really think that people are giving him the flack for decisions that are beyond his control (NP sacking).
We are safe this season, so just sit back, shut the fck up and lets see what happens in August.
EDIT
Oh and if you want to slag me off for daring to see things different, go ahead. I could not give a shit.
If watching City really pisses you off that much, you can always go and watch the sags. You wont be missed. What a weird post

Ditto , it’s not just about the game either
breakfast the travelling , away pubs chatting to the home fans ( hopefully ) the game ( usually disappointment ) the trip home with more beer then usually given the cold shoulder by the wife because your drunk and late home
then Sunday doing everything she tells you to make up for Saturdays shenanigans
what more could you want on a weekend
I don't do loads of away trips, normally about 7 or 8 a season and enjoy every one of them, most take the form as you quoted above!!

Fair play to those making the trip and especially those who have to travel from Bristol.
I never really understand the appeal of going to these away games unless something riding on them, especially with the cost associated to it. Rarely do I go past the midlands
You don't understand the appeal of travelling to support your team? Strange

Afternoon all,
Martin is my brother, and fought this vile disease with such bravery and determination, I couldn’t be any prouder. City was his life and had a fantastic network of friends who have been incredibly supportive of Martins battle. A stubborn so and so at times and did not let his diagnosis stop him. Martin was given 5 years when diagnosed nearly 12 years ago.
Thank you for the kind messages, they will come as a huge comfort for myself and the family.
My sincere condolences to all of your family
Sleep well fellow red, you have some great company up there

With the trips on vpn airways and streaming services, tonight felt like a trip down memory lane, where most of us would be listening to away games on the radio and waiting for the first fans to arrive back and start a thread or a post with “just back from….”!
Was quite enjoyable listening to BBCRB again, been a few years.
So anyone that’s been, be good to hear what it was really like.
I just got back!
Thoroughly enjoyed our performance, was a real team effort and the shots at goal we forgot in previous games was back!
Thought we looked strong at the back, o Leary did well (credit where it's due) and Williams was a monster all night!
Mehmeti doesn't do it for me, he just gives the ball away to much and as for Cornick, it was there tonight for him to be the hero, don't know how he missed in all honesty
Forget the few negatives after Fridays debacle this was champagne football, we really deserved more
