I’m pleased for Mark Robins. It’s been a long journey for him scrabbling around the lower divisions. Wasn’t he interviewed for the City job some years back?

Bristol CITY owner Stephen Lansdown is flying in to complete the Championship strugglers’ chase for a new manager.

Lansdown is due to meet ex-Barnsley boss Mark Robins, 41, and will make a formal approach to speak with St Johnstone chief Derek McInnes, 40, in the next few days.

Life is a cruel world, people die from cancer everyday while this clown gets sympathy from all and sundry because he played football

He was the best England player of my generation. A clown might be a little harsh ?

He’s a grown man and clearly needs money and will earn a couple of grand I should imagine, not bad for a nights work and what he does with the money is down to him

I know the organisers and they are always worried about booking Gazza in case he doesn’t turn up. He also attends the gigs with someone that asks the same questions so everything is pretty much scripted as he knows the questions already, same scenario also for Frank Bruno.  I think the poster has already said he wishes he hadn’t gone which is why it is sad.  You are right though, it’s a source of income for Gazza but very sad how it’s all turned out.

There was nothing new at all mate in all honesty, I think I had heard every story in one guise or another

I think the organiser also pays the person who asks the questions (especially for Gazza), so likely same old questions.

Went to BAWA last night for "An Evening with Gazza". Thought it was really sad to see first hand what he has become.

Obviously well documented his problems and demons but to see him like he was last night was really eye opening and sad

So obvious, so many still making money out of him and pimping him around the country

He looked and sounded to me as a man who desperately needs professional help

Sort of wished after that I hadn't gone at all

But the event organisers would know about his issues, they are just trying to make money out of him, very sad.

Bet Southgate regrets not starting him against France now!

Bet he regrets bringing him on with 5 mins left, pathetic decision considering he was bang in form during that tournament.

  7. Can't see what all the drama is about ?.

Fawlty Towers is undoubtedly one of the best comedy shows ever to be produced in this country and is still screened in this country and around the world.  There is huge excitement in this show coming back.  Like most returning shows, it might not work this time round and some would argue it has aged badly like most older comedies but I would much rather see a remake with John Cleese in it than without him.

More worried about how many people might have died (and others who  may still die) because they took the advice of a bloke with a high public profile, but no medical or science qualifications whatever that "holy water" and "prayer" would protect them from Covid-19.

Take it you want Nakhi Wells out of our club then ? Do you turn around when he sets up a goal or scores for us ? ?

It isn't to do with taking a vaccine - which isn't intended to improve your tennis. It's to do with spreading harmful nonsense.

Ah I remember you.  You are the same person that called me a liar when I mentioned that my niece had been damaged by the vaccine, ending up with pericarditis. Choosing not to believe something is happening and dismissing it as nonsense while waving your vaccine passport around in the air is your choice.  Not taking the vaccine was Djokovic’s choice, who knows ….it might yet turn out to have been the right choice.

Well you aren't in the public eye, but you certainly have been a massive idiot since Covid arrived and have hitched your star to a series of grifting liars.

Still killing 1,000 people a week in the UK, but you'd never know it from some divvies assertion that it is "over".   It was certainly all over for my friend Barry who died last September  in his mid-40s. A working postman who had the misfortune of being a diabetic, the virus spread to his internal organs and caused liver failure.

Because things like this happening, I have little time for millionaire sportsman who think they understand more about virology than experts, and who reckon "holy water" and prayer can cure you.  **** Djokovic.

He seems to have done pretty well for someone that chose not to take the vaccine.  Arguably one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

  11. Great win for Djokovic and scenes of real emotion at the end ?.  Unable to play last year due to Australia’s draconian measures which this year look pretty pathetic.  Glad to see him back and emphatically beating all his opponents.    Top bloke and world class player, your body, your choice ✌️

  12. Djokovic to win ? for me.  After the appalling way he was treated last year by Australian's and then ridiculed around the world for his health status,   Djokovic then came over to UK and won Wimbledon, so in my opinion he should have been overseas Sports Personality of the Year but there was no way the BBC would allow that.

I really hope he goes onto win this tournament above all others ?

I met him a few weeks ago on a train going to Leeds he said he almost got the job a few years ago ?? really nice bloke

Possibly 2020/2021 then... instead of Pearson or Holden.  If we gave up the chance to sign Warnock by opting for the cheap option that would have been the worst decision ever.

If you had ever been in Saudi you would understand that a Camel is seen as a sign of great wealth and esteem.  If you have never been to Saudi then you are entitled to your rather childish and uneducated opinion.

Fairly sure the Goat wouldn’t need a Camel, just sh1t loads of ?

As we have all said above,he wanted to do but nobody wanted him,he has somehow managed to nearly quadruple his wages while being crap, you have to doff your cap to him

No other club wanted him because of his actions towards Man Utd and then to Portugal in the WC.  Those recent actions showed that he cannot be trusted and can only move to a club that will play him every game.  He has burnt his bridges around Europe.  He will most likely break records in Saudi as he was Man Utd’s top scorer last season but no player is bigger than the club.

@piersmorgan: "If it was just about money, you'd be in Saudi Arabia earning this king's ransom, but that's not what motivates you. You want to keep at the top."

    @Cristiano Ronaldo: "Exactly."

    That was a month ago.

What he says about that club is ? true tbf,he should know after being around top clubs since leaving United how far they have fallen behind in everything from team to ground to training ground.Do we want people to tell the truth or not

Depends who wins out of it ? Has Ronaldo done well out of telling the truth ? I thought he wanted to leave Man Utd because he wanted to play Champions League, except after that interview and his display in the WC, nobody wants him.  He has taken a backward step and Piers has got good publicity out of it, he has been played IMO.

Good luck to him but that's a proper tough gig to take on, they're an absolute mess on and off the pitch.

He would still be managing our club if it was up to you ?

The comparison has been made sometimes.

    What do you think?

England are one of the top 5/10 international teams in the world whereas BC settle for bottom half, just about escaping being dragged into relegation fights within the championship and are quite comfortable with that, so no… no comparison at all.

And then the young striker that replaced him pops up with the first goal ? priceless !

Sorry, the hat-trick.  I would be shocked if he doesn’t remain on the bench for the next game.
