Do you think they should know the lottery numbers too? No one gets every signing right. I notice you don’t have a name for the £300k striker, thought it was a piece of piss this recruitment lark?
  2. Baffles me as to why last night with this in mind & only making 3/5 subs Roberts didn’t come on at some point, even if Cam stayed on, either as LB or playing in front of him. Although Cam is suspended on Wednesday I don’t think Roberts will start.

Be interested in the name of a striker that you think we could have got for £300k to replace one sold for £9m. Wasn’t much unhappiness on here when we signed Mehmeti, he just hasn’t made the step up. Not sure anyone (Tinnion or Pearson) could have known that.

As it stands one of those hasn’t played in nearly two years now (he only made 7 starts ever when he did), another in Naismith is rarely available. I would start by seeing anything I got from Benarous now as a bonus & tell Naismith (& Mehmeti) they can leave if anyone is interested. As previously discussed, there’s a decision to be made on Bajic too. Only those seeing him in training know the answer there though, as not his fault he’s second choice & Max is someone with a great availability record.

Would make sense in lots of ways. Tinnion wouldn’t make a great poker player (wouldn’t mind negotiating with him) though & certainly praised Joe in a way he didn’t with Matty James.
  6. Nope, not forgotten. Fact is he’s achieved something (twice) that SL hasn’t & most don’t give a shit about shirts, as can be witnessed by some of the abominations we have worn recently.

Just listened, not as bad as I feared (low bar). Obvious from it that both King (which we knew) & James aren’t getting new contracts. Think we all know Conway won’t sign another one, too.
  8. Realistically you don’t win all of those either. My problem at present (I’m not rehashing the Pearson argument again) is I’m not even sure he’s making the best of what I accept is a thin squad. Knight certainly isn’t best utilised where he’s playing & if he is going to play 2 strikers (I like Nakhi but I’m not sure it suits us) then playing TC on the left sure isn’t the best way. Finally his refusal to give Roberts any game time at all suggests he doesn’t rate him & any time Mehmeti gets on in front of Bell or even Cornick baffles me.
  9. Did he honestly say that? Absolutely nothing to do with the fact it was two Prem sides & Leeds then? Dear oh dear, just when I thought I couldn’t have less respect for him.
  10. This. For the poster who thought he looked “ok” you should ask Cam Pring. He must be absolutely ****** off with doing the work of two once he comes on the pitch. His lack of game awareness is incredible, it’s like he’s only just taken the sport up. That’s before you get to his refusal to track back with any intensity at all. I would persevere with Bell as a squad option, firstly he gives you what he’s got & secondly at the start of the season he went on a scoring burst, at 21 there is no reason to believe he can’t do again. I’d move Mehmeti on this summer if we can find a taker, though.
  11. What a petty, tinpot outfit they are. It’s like describing the late Bobby Charlton as the former Preston manager.
  12. The Leeds point is spot on, but the general direction of travel is the worry. There are some absolute maniacs on here (surprisingly quiet about Max last night though). I can maintain perspective about last night because of the opposition but it can’t be the case against non parachute payment sides.
  13. I wasn’t. I know several elderly ST holders with Sky, no way were they venturing out for it. The Portway was closed from mid afternoon, Bristol has appalling traffic, few decent options to get to the ground without driving, followed by the nightmare of parking & if I didn’t live near enough to walk, I’m not 100% sure I would go.
  14. How many points do you think the bottom four will get? You have completely misunderstood my point, they don’t win. I say we’d definitely stay up, nothing more. We barely need any more points to stay up & aren’t going on a 17 match losing run.
  15. Vincent Tan? Brilliant example, just the two more promotions to the Prem than Lansdown. ”Be careful what you wish for” FFS.
  16. If any of the other teams have been running on 14 outfield players I’ll be amazed. At least 3 (arguably at least 4) of our subs are realistically never coming on, no way do the likes of Preston or Millwall have a subs bench like that, let alone the larger clubs.
  17. Worked very hard (as usual). I’m still not sure where we should be playing him though, don’t think his current position makes the most sense to me.
  18. Yep, but a completely different question. I have zero respect for our chairman or Tinnion.
  19. We would have been better taking the player off & not bringing him on. I bet Pring is delighted to have a bloke in front of him for half an hour who thinks it’s fine to jog back when we lose the ball, put an absolutely token effort in to challenge their defender seeing the ball out for a goal kick & generally switch off whenever we are defending. Bell has taken some stick on here but at least he puts in a shift, Mehmeti is often a complete passenger.
  20. So you reckon QPR, 6 wins from 29 games are going to make up a 13 point gap & vastly inferior goal difference in their last 17 games? Or Sheffield Wednesday? 15 points behind & an even worse goal difference? Rotherham? 19 points behind & a worse goal difference still? Want a £100 bet on it? Huddersfield (11 points behind, also a worse goal difference than us) won’t catch us, either. Behave.
  21. Rowed back pretty quick on the top ten budget lie though.
  22. Our last win was 4 games ago. I remember this poster giving me the facepalm emoji when I said we wouldn’t win back to back away games at Watford & Birmingham. I’m not sure anyone bar the Chairman & Tinnion ever believed the top six bollocks. Mediocracy- never heard of it.
  23. It was. We drew his next two games 0-0, then a 5-2 home defeat to Doncaster when JET took us apart, a great introduction. Very much the dog days of GJ’s time with us.
  24. Really minor in the scheme of things but thought we might see one or two of the 21s with no future (Idehen, Leeson, Kadji) paid up so they can find new clubs. Also Lewis Thomas the ex FGR keeper was on a contract that ran out in January & no information either way yet on whether he’s gone or being kept on for the season. Agree with the OP, there was a lot of “typical City” posting yesterday, we won’t sign anyone, why is Bird not announced, etc, but overall a lot of smart business. I’d have much preferred Bird here straight away but as I obviously wasn’t part of the negotiations have no idea if this was remotely possible.
