  1. Hadn't noticed that - presumably dictated by Sky again.
  2. Of course, no drinking establishments in the Ashton Gate area have ever been advised by the Police to close when Millwall have been coming to town with a promotion place at stake?
  3. Not sure that they would need to "gloss over" failure to get into the play-offs. I don't think that back in August anybody would have put money on us even being in with a sniff of a chance of the play-offs at this stage of the season. As for the stadium, I'll believe it when I'm sitting in it (or, preferably standing) - far too many false dawns in the past.
  4. Millwall at home - last game of the season!
  5. Do the bookies pull names out of a hat every time there is a vacancy?
  6. Not sure that we need to worry about unlocking the tunnels just yet, I have a feeling that it will be a case of "as you were" for both teams next season.
  7. Most of those seats had a crap view because of the pillar. It's a pretty dire place to go to, but having made the effort and paid for a ticket, surely it's reasonable to expect to get a decent view in a stand which was nowhere near capacity?
  8. I believe that one steward was arrested, presumably the one throwing punches. Port Vale fans have said that the stewards are "rent-a-thug" types, who enjoy a ruck to the extent that they try and provoke people to react. Throw some kids who've had a few shandies into the mix and it's not going to have a happy ending.
  9. Ok, I'll go with that explanation. Although, hacking the supporters club account probably means that somebody knicked the cash tin from underneath the counter!
  10. Seems a bit convenient. If you are able to hack an account, surely you'd go for one with more than £150k up for grabs?
  11. Yes, we are sometimes referred to as "Bristol" by the media and other clubs/fans. I feckin' hate it - we all love our clubs because there is something unique and special about them in our eyes. The club name is major part of my club's identity, so I find it insulting when people get it wrong. Can't recall seeing "Bristol" on a scoreboard, but I'm not particularly a scoreboard watcher.
  12. He may well have heard it, whilst I didn't. Maybe you hear more of the away fans if you're on the same side of the ground, I'm usually behind one of the goals. Or maybe I'm just getting a bit mutton Jeff in my old age!
  13. Didn't hear that one myself, even though I was in the tent next to the away fans.
  14. Maybe slightly less concerning than Higgs and his watertight contract, and how that would have ended though?
  15. Isn't it common practice in football for the assets to be owned by a different company than the actual footall club (liability). This was the case under the old regime, a different company owned the ground. @Monkeh What have they backtracked on with the training ground?
  16. Thanks for clarifying that. Seems I was being stereotypical Gas and talking b*llocks!
  17. I don't think any contracts have been cancelled, but if they find a club after the window closes the contract can then be cancelled so they are free to sign elsewhere.
  18. Getting a few off the wage bill certainly won't do any harm. It also lets players know exactly where they stand, so they can be pro-active about finding another club now, rather that in July when hundreds of others players are looking for a new club.
  19. Where has this thread been for the last 24 hours?
  20. Shouldn't they be going in the back door?! Allegedly, beer at £1.90 a pint was the attraction.
  21. Which, of course, you wouldn't do if the fixtures were reversed!
  22. Never really understood the issue either - it's not as though he's commited tax fraud.
  23. South Stand tent has been there approx 15 years - apart from the annual summer vacations to Wimbledon. Guiness tent in situ for a couple of seasons, then disappeared. This season a South-West tent has been added. As has often been mentioned on here, our owners are not billionaires, so have to cut their cloth - or tent canvas - accordingly!
