  1. No excuse - just a fact of life for us at the moment. Cheapest way of increasing the ground capacity I presume?
  2. The only time we had a "tent" at Twerton was when some idiots burnt down the Grandstand, so a temporary stand, with a canvas roof, had to erected on part of the Bristol end terrace to accommodate the displaced fans.
  3. Surprised to read about that. There is quite a strict criteria for getting disabled tickets. A friend of mine had to produce documentation to show that she was registered as being disabled, plus a current letter from her Dr confirming that she needed a carer to help her attend games.
  4. A Gazebo is open on all 4 sides - I'll have you know that we've got a feckin' tent! Actually, we've now got 2 feckin' tents since the new owners rolled into town.
  5. "Nostalgia" - as in getting soaking wet standing on the terraces, wading through urine to use bogs that don't flush, queueing for 20 minutes to buy a burnt pasty, listening to a tannoy system that is either uninteligable or deafens you, etc etc.
  6. Thought the same - had to scroll back and have another look. Bad idea - there are some things that you just can't unsee!
  7. How would you rate the EE with regard to difficulty for other fans to take it, back in the day? I remember reading in a book that Arsenal fans got a nasty surprise, and came out a lot quicker than they went in. From memory, the EE had a tight, compact feeling, which created an intimidating environment.
  8. If you knew the demographic of those who sit in the Tent, you'd realise how hilarious your post it. A few Barrow fans overdid it on the ale, and were a bit lairy in their block - nothing to see, move on.
  9. Heard he had to take early retirement after a punching incident a couple of years ago.
  10. Work had to start on the site this month in order to retain the planning permission, the car park is first on the agenda, so a few diggers have been active for the last couple of weeks. Q&A session with Wael + the Chairman tonight. I'm not expecting to learn anything new at the moment, usual soundbites and everybody will go home happy.
  11. Linesman had just taken over the whistle from the original ref, who had pulled a muscle or something. People think that's a can of line spray tucked into the rear of his shorts, maybe it's a roll of dodgey £50's.
  12. Mickey Barrett ? Both clubs have an element of morons who don't know where to draw the line.
  13. Our fans charter states that tickets will be half-price for fans attending an abandoned match, when the fixture is re-arranged.
  14. He may well have been supporting Chelsea when we played them for the final time in Division Two of the old Football League. No doubt we took the Shed End in the away game, and he's never forgotten how we travel in numbers!
  15. To be honest, I couldn't even make sense of what he was trying to say!
  16. Ooops - must remember to switch my web-cam off in future!
  17. Yes it was - one fan on Radio Bristol said it was aimed at the team, maybe he was not situated at the tunnel end of the ground. Several idiots started chanting "Mildenhall" when the 2nd goal went in - of course, that was really going to boost the young lad's confidence wasn't it - they are idiots. He got lots of calls of "Roooooos" when he handled the ball, unfortunately not everybody is familiar with the "Luuuuuuuke" support which golfer Luke Donald gets, so didn't get the gist of it. I am sure that Roos did though, as he probably would have had the same chant at previous clubs. When our fans are idiots, I have no problem in saying so. Similarly, when something has been misinterpreted or mis-reported, and I was at the game, I'll also say what I saw/heard.
  18. It was the Ref who got booed off, not the players.
  19. Cheers for that - my finance expertise is limited to the price of handbags and shoes!
  20. Not sure what you are looking at - the Companies House website shows:- Accounts Next accounts made up to 30 June 2016 due by 31 March 2017 7 charges registered 0 outstanding, 7 satisfied, 0 part satisfied Apart from a few weeks, the accounts currently filed cover the final period of Higgs ownership, so, except for the Wonga loan being paid off, we won't see any hard evidence of what the new owners have done until accounts are filed in March 2017. I'm no expert on financial matters, so, if I'm looking in the wrong place, please enlighten me!
  21. It did feel a bit strange, but my son was very young and he wanted to see Liverpool play.
  22. Ha ha - in the away end that night, as usual.
  23. From memory, the tickets were really cheap for the re-arranged game.
