  1. I think people are doing Gary Neville an injustice here. One of the greatest full backs this country has produced. He used to bomb up and down, often to make space for Beckham, but could still make a good cross.

  2. I don’t mind seeing him come on for 10 mins when we’re 2-0 and closing the game off. He’s not a player to bring on when you want a goal.

For 300k and a good attitude, I’m not too upset he’s around the team. He just needs to be 3rd/4th choice, not our 2nd choice striker.

His signing will allow us to not renew Janes’ contract next season imo.
We are not playing everything through James now like we used to so i can see him and his wages being released at the end of the season.

Different players. You don’t think having a player like James, allowed TGH to have an impact further forward?

Yep, but I’m not going overboard after 6 games when he’s had minimal numbers & no opportunity to bring anyone in.

Would I have liked Nige to still be in charge? Yep.

Would I still like to be in my 30s & have a full head of hair?

Yep, neither of those things are going to happen, though.

I imagine that’s something you and Manning have in common!

Have to admit, I’ve heard the phrase “baby shower” but have no idea what it is. Presumably it’s because I’m old!

It’s like a mini version of a golden shower. Just a taster.

Probably only trumped by Hakeeb Adelakun who inexplicably arrived at the same time, cost £700k, & made just 5 starts, spending nearly all of his 3 (!) years with us out on loan.

Now a squad player for Lincoln, which is basically the level that he was always at.

Whoever was in charge of the identifying potential signings in that era should have been sacked years ago.

I believe he got a promotion.

  7. He’s starting to remind me of O’Dowda. Has no bottle to try and take a man on the outside and get in a foot race. He has limited footballing intelligence. He will get the odd goal when the ball lands at his feet in a good position.

LW is starting to become the biggest priority for recruitment.

  8. He is an owner and ultimately has the last say on major decisions, no matter how much JL is pushed forward. I expect to hear from him occasions, especially as the change is the budget available to Nige was squarely down to him. He should have fronted that up and not sent out a CEO who he sacked not long afterwards.

    Outstanding again.

Yeah, it's really good. I'm not a fan of Chinese food but this place is very decent.

Pasture just have it spot on. The atmosphere and service you get as soon as you walk in just sets it up for a great evening.
I went to a similar place in London but it just wasn’t the same.

  10. I noticed Manning said he is looking to sign an attacker in the January. For me, this must be someone who can naturally play on the left.

Bell is out of form. He contributes nothing to the build up and can’t beat a man. Mehmeti just isn’t doing and can’t be trusted to play from the start every week. Sykes is our most effective attacker and needs to play in his best position on the right.

I'm amazed there aren't two massive Bristol City and Bristol Bears badges on the outside

All we seem to get, is on a matchday with the lights being either red or blue on the outside

Absolutely. I guess some fans would moan about having the Bears badge on display.

Something to raise in one of your meetings?

Come on gents, no-one still thinks the sole reason Nige was sacked was because of results, do they?

He was sacked because the Lansdowns found him difficult and intractable.

And because he hadn't appeared at training for six weeks because he couldn't walk and had no prognosis.

Now we can all cry till the cows come home, but those were the reasons. Not ******* results - we were 8th four days before he was sacked. And you think he was sacked for being 8th? A few pts off the play offs? Come on...

No-one should be dumb enough to believe that shite.

I don’t believe it. However, as the Lansdown/board said that was the reasons, I’m judging them on it.

By saying they want better football, better results as we have a top 6 side squad, they have made Liam Mannings job a lot harder. He is going to get less patience from the fans because of the Lansdown.

If they had an ounce of leaderships between them, they could have told us the real reasons in the summer and sacked Pearson in the summer. They could have stopped pretending there was no money and gave their chosen man the chance to improve the squad.

Possibly so but it can always lead to complications. Supposing the Lansdowns don't trust a new owner to be a responsible custodian they may not be keen to let the ground go, which then puts a whole takeover in doubt.

Well, if you believe what SL and JL say, they wouldn’t let anything go to someone they don’t trust.

My problem is, I don’t trust their judgement.

What’s his background and qualifications? Is he a numbers guy, a commercial guy, a management / people guy?
I know it’s only a small sample as he only said about 20 words but he didn’t seem hugely engaging. My guess is he’s from a finance background.

Yep. Finance guy. They generally all have that sour tone.

I saw walking around Ashton Gate, during the working day, wearing very short cycling shorts. That was enough for him to decide he’s a wrong un

Yes but his job title is kitman, as I said a new bloke might question that sort of money, and yes kitman is the perfect part time job, I'm just being realistic

How do you drive a van to Sunderland and back in 8 hours?
