And show the incident on the screens, like in egg chasing and cricket
VAR is only used on appeal. Simples. You get one or two per game.
So for example in the Forest game, they appeal the first one and the VAR disagrees as happened. No penalty and no more appeals? Or is it a case of if you appeal, you'd almost be forcing the VAR to make a decision in your favour to avoid backlash?
I feel like that would just open it up to even more confusion personally.

I'm not sure how people think being able to "appeal" like in cricket etc would help. These decisions people are talking about have already been reviewed and people will always disagree with subjective calls

That's not relevant for me, I don't care what other people say. It's another good competitive game ruined.
Why was the game "ruined"? It was incredible drama and one of the most amazing endings to a game you could ever have

I don't necessarily mind the decision, and would generally welcome far bigger changes to the structure of all comps anyway, but not consulting all the clubs is a disgrace

Ultimately to try to protect the Lower Leagues and grassroots.
A free for all..how many would then just watch Liverpool, Man United or whoever is popular and attendances below the PL fall further.
Modern trends that really irritates "But who is your PL side, or your favoured PL side" (in addition to main side).
I guess that's true, although I'm not sure that really helps any more.
Enough people already get their football fix from the "big" games and couldn't give a toss about their local teams regardless of what time the games are

Seems pretty mental to keep the 3pm block only to just move half the games outside of that window to avoid the block anyway

He's 21 mate. I'm pretty sure you don't talk the same way as the generations before you either

Aye. Sykes, Twine, Conway, Wells and Mehmeti were awful last night..
Strange thread imo. Sykes has made a massive difference in the recent great form, starting from when he came on against Swansea to break the losing trend

I think common sense for me. Although it could well be given, I don't really see how that affects Bayern enough to cry about. It was just a little miscommunication that had no consequence to the gameplay itself
Ref was excellent in his general demeanor and control of the game.

Just the one Southampton this week. Nice to see him a bit more relaxed and open following the recent good form. Good chance to end the season well now and get people behind him for next year

People rightly slating Ben White for this, and yet it seems the majority are fine with Ryan Yates rolling round trying to get Madison sent off

It was Ian Wright. Dion Dublin thinks the Keeper should be losing his marker. Gary Linker thinks the rules should be changed.
Match of the day pundits opine regularly that ex pros should be a part of VAR decision making.
Incredible

Thank you to everyone (who has said it was offside). I watched the pundits' "discussion" and was worrying that I was losing my sanity - one of the most clear offsides you'd see!
I'm not sure which of the experts it was on match of the day but one of them even suggested that the keeper should just change his own position so that he can see

This Wolves one has annoyed me all weekend. It's one of the clearest cases of offside you'll get. It doesn't matter how tall you are ffs, you can't stand directly in front of the goalkeeper in the middle of the goal about a yard away from him in an offside position while the ball goes into the net
O'Neil, Wolves and the pundits on MOTD are a disgrace for acting the way they have about such a simple decision

Another enthralling half of front foot football I see
-
Seems a bit silly but looking at the table and the games remaining, I reckon if we won all of our last 6 games we'd make the play offs..

Is Hazard committing any fouls? I am going yes he is deliberately tripping (impeding) opponents.
He quite clearly has possession of the ball in all of those clips. Not sure how that's a comparison to deliberately putting your foot in front of another player with the only intention of getting hit and then claiming a foul

Voted O'Leary for legit reasons and Mebude for a laugh

Delighted would be ridiculous, but of course it's nice to be winning games. If we can get to 60 points, it'll give us a reasonable finish to the season where we can hopefully reset and work out what we actually want to achieve next season

End of season awards
in Football Chat

I found it very cringe worthy the way it was being hyped as seemingly such a "fantastic season" (Downsey's words) celebration but doing the awards after the match like that worked well I think and was a nice way to round off the last home game
