Delighted would be ridiculous, but of course it's nice to be winning games. If we can get to 60 points, it'll give us a reasonable finish to the season where we can hopefully reset and work out what we actually want to achieve next season

Starting to dominate now

Plymouth lots of possession but are no threat at all
Let them burn themselves out before we get the win
As opposed to no possession and no threat

Watched a clip of it and its a different sketch your seeing a lot from a still picture fella and its a foul. The foul is there in the picture you cant clout a leg whether your looking at it or not hes not clearing the ball hes clearing a shin.
Not trying to be rude and disrespectful but your going end up having a law where its legal to kick a player and not the ball!!
If you're applying that logic then no trip would be foul as it's the other player's fault for running into the leg

Bit harsh, I thought he did well creating problems which helped open things up a bit for Mehmeti and Sykes. Conway started well but faded and the change was needed

Worth noting that this is only reflective of current and then championship sides rather than the whole country, where presumably we haven't seen as much growth as the numerous teams that have strolled past us to the Prem

It was a good win against a poor Leicester team. Nothing to get carried away with and the next few games will be an opportunity that we can hopefully make the most of this time to kick on a little bit

Just absolutely nothing of substance from Manning yet again, despite some good questions being thrown his way.
6 minutes ago, JP Hampton said:One thing I thought was better from Richard Hoskins, was his questions were a bit more probing. For example about substitutions, which Liam didn’t really answer because “it’s in the past” but think RH got that right.
That question was great and a perfect opportunity for him to explain his thinking even just a little bit but his response was just so empty.
He even turned it into a "well there are plenty of times I've made great subs" completely missing the point of the question. It's that self-defensiveness and arrogance that people really don't like.
To say that he's not bothered about looking back at the West Brom game because it was a long time ago, only to then reference multiple other games that were much longer ago sums it up.

That quote can't actually be serious

Everything about this club is just so weird/frustrating at the moment

My opinion is if you don't go up then its no more of a success than finishing 18th for example. Both teams will be spending another season in the Championship.
The problem was that other clubs strengthened and we didn't.
That's ridiculous

I know it's his job and ultimately he did fail when it came to managing at a higher level, but it must have been a right pain in the ass managing the likes of Trundle and Noble

That's a terrible slogan

Ah, good old propaganda

Nice to have the proper coat of arms badge rather than Jon's robin "crest" as well

How many wins would manning need between now and the end of the season, with city playing well, to give him time and good grace with the fans? And then offset that against the likelihood of it happening. This crude formula tells me there is no chance he turns it around before the start of next season, at which point the toxicity will be off the scale. Worrying times
Maybe 3 or 4 wins and a couple of draws would of course ease the pressure a bit
A lot would also depend on the manner of wins as well. If they're one off wins similar to the Swansea performance he was so pleased with, then that will do little good for him
He's got a couple of weeks to reset things a bit, try to get a cup like performance out of the Leicester game then we really have to be beating Plymouth (particularly if we lose to Leicester as expected)

Championship stability is certainly some kind of progress, in a way. Although it definitely feels like us and Preston are stuck in limbo.
Probably most frustrating about the lack of improvement in the last 16 years is that there's no real reason for it other than incompetent leadership from the top.

All I know is that for a good five or six years now the football has deteriorated rapidly at Ashton Gate. The club has literally forgotten that you are there to ENJOY what you are watching. I was able to swallow it under Nige for a while and was hoping that THIS SEASON was the one where we would move forward in terms of moving the lack of style on a little bit. However we know what happened there. The football we saw last week (Bristol City v Swansea) was an appalling indictment of the "Tactics Board" over-coaching that now seems to be prevalent. Liam Manning, Ian Foster, Joe Edwards, Luke Williams.................I couldn't care less what professional coaches, data analysts and the like say, as someone who pays money and contributes in a tiny way to your over-inflated salaries I would just like to say that, as entertainment, your football really is SHIT, it's BORING and it's nothing more than BINARY BALL with the odd exception every now and again in our case.
26 points in 23 games and 26 goals in 23 games having been shut out 9 times - how turgid is that? It gets worse though - it's very spooky but it's also 12 points and 12 goals in our last 14 matches with seven where we have failed to score (or half). Have a think about that for a moment - TWELVE GOALS AND SHUT OUT SEVEN TIMES IN FOURTEEN MATCHES. If that's what coaching genius means then stick it right up your hairy arsehole.
03011113400012023010210 for those who are interested. I know others do some great stats but simple ones we all understand show that this is what Tinnion's and Manning's "front foot" football looks like (since Boxing Day in brackets):
Nine games - 0 goals (7)
Seven games - 1 goal (3)
Three games - 2 goals (3)
Three games - 3 goals (1)
One game - 4 goals (0)
In fairness to Manning, and I never thought I'd say that , it looks like he had a similar start with Oxford last year when he took over.
5 dull draws and 2 defeats to nil in his first 7 games.
From what he's said about "not working much with possession", it seems quite clear that the only thing he's really bothered about now is working out of possession with his boring, block football.
I would assume he's then looking to implement whatever he wants to do with the ball from next season when we can look to strengthen in those areas.
I kind of get it, but it smacks of not being able to read the room in the meantime and concerns me how adaptable he'll be in the future when needed. Not to mention that it's almost blind faith that what he will implement over the next pre-season will even work anyway.

No time off. They're all working really hard don't you know. In at 7, out at 7

You just know it is going to be “There is only one Nigel Pearson” all around the ground - guaranteed!
If I was Nige, I'd be doing everything I can to get to this game in some capacity whether as a pundit, special guest of the away team, or sat directly behind Steve and Jon throwing popcorn at them

Just been listening to a piece on the radio regarding Coventry which stated they are 18th in the Championship regarding budget
No chance. I would imagine though that their budget is somewhat comparable to what we had a few years afo

He quite clearly has possession of the ball in all of those clips. Not sure how that's a comparison to deliberately putting your foot in front of another player with the only intention of getting hit and then claiming a foul
