Pearson went because lansdown wanted him gone, you don’t seriously believe tinnion could make that decision do you?

Then Tinnion needs to step up and tell them that it's the wrong decision and that this is not the way forward. Instead, he moved up a role himself! Either way it's pathetic all round and he deserves all criticism from it

TBF his thoughts and insights into the academy players was pretty good, in addition to discussing the excellent U18 cup run and upcoming game against Man City he went on to explain the EY loan to Bath logic of being involved in ‘men’s’ football.. likening the move to Antoine and going on to say that only Lloyd Kelly wasn’t treated this way.. all good stuff and this is where he clearly excels..

Perhaps I'm being too simple and maybe he does excel in this kind of role, but it also seems a pretty easy role?

How much of the U18 success is based on big investment in youth levels and just talented young players they have? I struggle to see how there would be any difference with a "technical director" overseeing that.

Things like sending Yeboah out on loan is easy to talk about as a good thing. "We sent Semenyo there." OK but dozens of others have been sent there and never came back.

  3. I don't think he needs to sell, but he just needs to employ competent people below him. Jon, Tinnion, Gavin Marshall etc quite clearly aren't the right people

They were somewhat on the right track with Mark Ashton, other than allowing free reign to waste so much money

I thought/hoped Phil Alexander would be the right person to give us the direction we needed but he was also somewhat bizarrely binned off

Any reason why the OP never chose 15 games?

What were the 3 games before those 12, I just had a look.....  Watford - won, Hull - won, Sunderland - won, so add those 9 points and where would we be?

As much as I am certainly not convinced by what has happened, and probably agree that it actually seems we have regressed, it does show that plenty on here will choose what to present to suit their own stance (both sides too).

Any reason you only added 3 more games to that? 🤔

It's unbelievable that in a mini league of teams from 5th to 16th I bet we would be top. In the same league of 17th to 24th we would be rock bottom. Just another mad thing this season

Not sure if we'd be top but it's certainly not bad either.

Against those teams, we've won 6, drawn 5 and lost 4. 23 points from 15 games.

Was our record against the bottom teams as noticeably bad before Manning took over?

  6. Probably not entirely relevant to this thread, and somewhat harsh on Manning, but I still can't help be majorly disappointed that we got rid of decent, respected, experienced football people (Pearson, Flemming, Euell, Rennie) and replaced them with this. What a waste

I struggle to get my head around it mate.

The head coach we have got, is different to what we stated we wanted. Yes ticks a lot of their boxes on things like coaching etc but the main one is that his style is the polar opposite to what we said we wanted.

If they wanted to take a different path. That's fair enough, they'd be judged on that separately but as communication is now fantastic - Tony Wilkins 2024, then communicate that. But they are not doing that. They are still sticking to the line that Liam Manning fits with the plan that has always been in place. You and I know that is complete bull and just going along with that line just pisses people off.

Why won't they admit they've changed the plan to accommodate Manning? Probably something to do with the fact that if they do so it blows up their arguement about making the change to make us compete this sesson.

I remember when we played Oxford in the cup and beat them 5-1. We had the likes of Ian Gay crowing about how well they played. Honestly some of thr comments after that game were embarrassing. They lost 5-1 to us for God's sake, to us 🤣🤣🤣 I can only guess that Ian was in Tinnions inbox telling us to get that guy in 🤣🤣

The warnings were there in that 5-1 defeat. Looked OK at times but ultimately we're outclassed and lost. And that's how I'd describe Mannings time here.

What do Jon and BT know about tactics and philosophies? BT was an abject failure as a manager here. I can only guess that with their limited knowledge they were taken in by all of Mannings text book speaking.

Obviously it was just one game and it's not fair to purely judge Manning on that, but it still seems so bizarre to me that we've replaced a manager with a lower level one that got hammered by us in the same season 😂

I'd imagine that might be the only time that's ever happened

Pearson must be just so baffled
