Who was extremely deflective about everything, wouldn’t really answer any questions about the rumours, openly said he felt awkward, and also said he couldn’t imagine working with anyone else other than Manning. If I was an Oxford fan, I’d feel extremely resigned to the official news of it very soon after hearing that.

And I’d say a cheap option is someone without a club, not someone who we’re paying a 6 figure sum to get out of their current job.

This for me suggests 100% that it’s Tinnion’s show now, and he heavily influenced the decision to get rid of Nige. Not a chance in hell Steve or Jon are thinking ‘hmmm….Liam Manning at Oxford looks good…’

I watched that game, and Oxford played them off the park. Really well worked goal, and missed 2 absolute sitters that should’ve made it 3 or 4-1. You’ve obviously already made your mind up on him, fair enough, but just try and look at the positive sides too - it might help!

There will be days and days of negotiation through agents. Manning will say there’s no contact, because technically there hasn’t been….the contact is through third parties.

Scouring Oxford forum for salty tears, and someone’s said Oxford put in a break clause that they could sack him for minimal £ if they went down last season, but Manning himself put one in for similar low cost if club in higher division came in for him

The cynic in me, and I’ve been cynical for the last 8 days, says no way in hell they’d have wanted to feed Hines/Ball/Cisse to the lions of the media this week as part of pre/post match duty. Much easier and better for a close friend and ‘his man’ Flem to do it. Imo that was a consideration
