  1. £120 up here in BS4. Straight in the coffers for Bristol City related Christmas presents for nephews and nieces, just the way our lord & saviour Steve Lansdown intended.
  2. Also speaks a fair few languages by all accounts which helps with recruitment and new player ‘settling’
  3. Listened to the interview/podcast in question last night, and I personally couldn’t see anything more clearly than he’s going to leave Oxford too to work with him here. I believe the phrase he used was “I really couldn’t imagine working with anyone other than Liam”
  4. Has Mark Carter looked at his win % yet? He’s going to get a right hard on!!!
  5. The point of Rennie is an interesting one, and one that hasn’t been discussed by the club at all actually. Will there be a replacement appointed for him? Will they just see it as saved cash and let someone do 3 roles in 1 like with the CEO role? Paddy Orne is also leaving, so not many senior/experienced people left there in the near future
  6. Not a chance in hell it’s £600k buyout. It’s reported to be one years salary, no way he’s on £600k a year!
  7. But then Gavin Marshall came out on his glory and said promotion is the expectation.
  8. Who was extremely deflective about everything, wouldn’t really answer any questions about the rumours, openly said he felt awkward, and also said he couldn’t imagine working with anyone else other than Manning. If I was an Oxford fan, I’d feel extremely resigned to the official news of it very soon after hearing that.
  9. And I’d say a cheap option is someone without a club, not someone who we’re paying a 6 figure sum to get out of their current job.
  10. This for me suggests 100% that it’s Tinnion’s show now, and he heavily influenced the decision to get rid of Nige. Not a chance in hell Steve or Jon are thinking ‘hmmm….Liam Manning at Oxford looks good…’
  11. I watched that game, and Oxford played them off the park. Really well worked goal, and missed 2 absolute sitters that should’ve made it 3 or 4-1. You’ve obviously already made your mind up on him, fair enough, but just try and look at the positive sides too - it might help!
  12. MK Dons still got relegated that season, IIRC in a worse position than he left them in, so not exactly a failure on him is it? If anything points to external circumstance, I.e losing a load of players, it’s that
  13. Depends how you wanna look at it. Rob Edwards had never managed league 1, McKenna had never been a manager…
  14. There will be days and days of negotiation through agents. Manning will say there’s no contact, because technically there hasn’t been….the contact is through third parties.
  15. Scouring Oxford forum for salty tears, and someone’s said Oxford put in a break clause that they could sack him for minimal £ if they went down last season, but Manning himself put one in for similar low cost if club in higher division came in for him
  16. Will have been writing the story & article up for a good half hour tbf
  17. @Sandhurst Red all hail the new understated king of OTIB ITK
  18. Too much time off!!!’ Sack the medical staff!!!!! oh wait hang on
  19. The eggs are out the basket, and ready to be placed on faces
  20. I read it as “as of this morning, there’s been contact but that’s as far as it’s gone”
  21. The cynic in me, and I’ve been cynical for the last 8 days, says no way in hell they’d have wanted to feed Hines/Ball/Cisse to the lions of the media this week as part of pre/post match duty. Much easier and better for a close friend and ‘his man’ Flem to do it. Imo that was a consideration
  22. They lost 8 players without really replacing… Oxford were in the relegation zone when he took over, and now they’re top. Any nuances in that?
  23. A fair few people, for whatever reason!
