  1. Dave Rennie must be hiding in the bushes influencing things!
  2. I think Tommy will see the potential in the £££ from the clubs sniffing around him more clearly than the club potential/fan views!
  3. Already providing division and some revision around Pearson’s last few months in charge it seems, interesting. I really hope to god we get good results and play good, ‘different’ football in the next batch of games after this break or it’s going to get a bit ugly, and damn right deflating imo. Tanner & Hogg today rebutting/refuting talks of pushing for promotion, Tinnion et al being clear that Pearson & co went because we’re expecting to be pushing for too 6, fans clearly seeing the squad is not equipped for that. No money gonna be available in Jan. Can’t personally see there being any reality where Conway signs a new deal this season. Interesting, and concerning/exciting in equal measure, times ahead.
  4. Fair bit of backtracking/rebuttal from both Tanner & Hogg about promotion. Colour me surprised.
  5. Definition of shitting the bed. Not sure what they’re hoping for tbh.
  6. Yep, them and Torquay are both full time. Absolutely crazy. Full time in the 6th tier. Only in this country is that possible
  7. Never been given a reason as far as I’m aware. As a guess, would be because it might result in stuff being said/discussed that the club aren’t happy with or don’t want in the public domain. Again a total guess, but I’d imagine the Ashton interview with Twentyman was such a horrific car crash (and rightly so) that it put an end to anything that the club might feel slightly uneasy/uncomfortable with. Hopefully changes at some point as we (Stan) had some cool stuff in the pipeline/planned up that would’ve been great for fans to hear.
  8. Game of the season so far by a distance. Can’t remember ever thinking a game ending 4-4 feels about right and fair for both teams!!
  9. Nope, none from an osib perspective. Tbh we are now just actively ignored, or told computer says no with the few odd requests for access for things we’ve had over the past few years. And the powers that be hilariously now say communication & openness to fans should be better! Ah well.
  10. Honestly no one knows. He got moved from a coaching role into recruitment, make of that what you will, but never mentioned as part of the team for any of the incoming/outgoing deals over the past few years. Suddenly made a coach again when Pearson etc were sacked. All a bit odd.
  11. It was yeah, certain posters pretty much implied the win didn’t count because of it, but it was mentioned they brought on their big guns for the second half and still couldn’t score, but we did (again). How does Brian have his coffee? Milky with 4 sugars?
  12. Second game, if you want to be pedantic. I disagree on the second point too, of course it absolutely matters when you play them! We’re probably a bit fortunate to have played Preston when we did, and unfortunate to have played Birmingham when we did. Cardiff will have been fortunate to play us when they did, loads goes into the mixing pot. yesterday was certainly up there for the worst I’ve seen. Will it have been any better or worse under Pearson? Who knows, we’ll never know. Doesn’t mean fans can’t call it for what it was.
  13. All the best coaches I’ve ever seen operate “on the grass” have been extremely quiet, shy, introverted people off it. It really makes no odds now he comes across from what we will see. How this guy is when he has a camera shoved in his face, will in no way be how he is every day with the players. Coaches/managers can be hugely eccentric, but if they’re screaming and shouting a load of crap does that make it any more inspiring?
  14. That was horrific, but worth remembering Reading were top 6 at the time and had momentum. Yesterday was a lot worse, in any way you want to cut it. The final 10 minutes of us actually looking like we wanted to score saved it from being one of the worst games I’ve ever watched live, from both sides.
  15. Well, they’ve said there’s no money in January. And they’ve said they expect to push for promotion this season. So I’d say yes, they really do expect him to wave a magic wand and turn the exact same group of players into top 6 contenders.
  16. Was truly incredible today, again. He’s really carried us defensively at times this season. And he was pretty much signed by Sykes. Says it all really
  17. Last two games has made it even clearer to me he’s heading straight for the nest egg, full steam ahead. His goals are drying up, the “saviour” arc & buzz that he had after Rotherham hasn’t continued at all, and he’s hardly impacting games. Certainly can’t do it solo anyway. Had interest in the summer, and those conversations are probably on a simmer ever since, and Alex going will only be turning his head more. Be truly amazed if he’s here this time next year, and wouldn’t even rule January out.
  18. As I said in MDT, play like that against Boro and it’ll turn sour very quickly. That was really, really bad. If anyone was of the opinion that Pearson not being a ‘touchline manager’ made Any difference during games, case in point it makes no difference whatsoever. I’ve no idea why we try to play through & not over first half, they had a very high line and we had pace on the wings. Southampton away after Boro too, talk about baptism of fire. JL & Tinnion currently writing up their narrative for back tracking re: this not being a top 6 squad.
  19. All I’ll say is, if it’s like that for the home game against Boro, things will probably get sour quite fast.
