  1. Watford have been absolutely dire, as Sheffield United were aswell. The quality of the championship this season has been the poorest that i can remember for quite some time.
  2. Bet you are gutted Watford having scored yet aren’t you?
  3. You just know what is going to happen if we dont get a goal.. we need to capitalise on this pressure.
  4. Dave is clearly referring to how poorly SL has ran the footballing side of the club over the years. I genuinely think the best footballing decision he has ever made at the club is appointing GJ in 2005, everything else footballing wise he has authorised has been an absolutely disaster and he rarely learns. Id genuinely like you or somebody else to name me some other good footballing decisions he has made in the 20 odd years he has been in charge of the club? Cotts wasn’t even his choice FFS. How many countless teams up and down the country have we seen overtake us over the last 15-20 years.. I’m just looking at the Prem table and Brighton ******* Brighton are 6th! They are probably the best example of a club that have done everything right over the last 10–15 years with a man in Tony Bloom (not as rich as Lansdown mind you) who clearly knows how to run a football club.
  5. Just pure ignorance though isn’t it but unsurprising really as many people in this country do genuinely believe the Premier league is the only league in the world the exists. What you hope and expect is that the man who gets paid millions of pounds a year to run the national team is looking and keeping tabs on players playing abroad, because if he is then it’s absolutely baffling if one or both of Tomori or Smalling is left out IMO.
  6. I’d take Chris Smalling over Maguire, he has been an ever present in Roma’s defence over the past few seasons and has really impressed over there by all accounts.
  7. I admire your positivity and i have been a big Pearson fan and still hope he can deliver for us. I’ve woken up this morning with quite a positive feeling about Saturday to be honest. I think we will see a good reaction from the team..!
  8. Agreed. Also worth noting that our average home attendances over the last 4 or 5 seasons at this level have been fairly impressive aswell considering how little success we have had over the last 40 years. I can’t think of many clubs if any with our lack of recent success and with no topflight stint since the early 80s that averages 20k at home..
  9. I don’t think Pearson will be letting Klose or Martin go anywhere in January unless adequate replacements can be brought in. I know both have been poor this season but better to have them in the squad then not at all will be the Nige’s thinking IMO.
  10. Exactly. I think we all need to be open minded with the next appointment to be honest.
  11. You say that but not many wanted Cotts myself included and look how that panned out.. I have a feeling Rob Edwards could do a good job here.
  12. That £8 million we spent on him plus the outlay in wages over the past few season is looking like yet another poor bit of business by the last incumbent..!
  13. I am still of the opinion we should have taken the dough when Watford came calling..Can’t remember how much it was alleged they offered, was it around the £10 mill mark?
  14. Didn’t build on it though did we and thats the frustration. All before FFP was a thing we could have really built on that 07/08 season but Lansdown true to form dithered and dithered and all momentum was lost. Poor football decision after poor football decision was made (appointing Keith ******* Millen in the process) and we slowly declined back to League 1 over the following 5 years. For all the good he has done for the infrastructure of the club in recent years the buck stops with Steve Lansdown and his horrendous mis-management of the footballing side of the club. It’s been done to death on this forum over the years anyway, I’m tired of taking about it to be honest. The usual lot will pipe up about being ‘careful what you wish for’ but I couldn’t give a toss now I’m happy to take a gamble on new ownership. Just sell the club Steve, please.
  15. That for me is the truly shocking stat. Once in 40 years we have finished in the top 6 of the second tier, almost 2 decades of those being under Lansdown’s watch. I would feel utterly embarrassed if i was him and had pumped the amount of dough in that he has.
  16. Cleary not good enough yet is he, needs some loan time in League 1 and hopefully he comes back in a year or so more ready.
  17. Some of our fans are deluded if they think Scott Parker would come anywhere near our club. Laughable really it was even suggested but just shows how clueless some are.
  18. Fair play to Rotherham, usually the whipping boys at this level but they look a decent outfit this season. Once again goes to show you don’t need to throw ££ to get a decent team at this level…!
  19. Nige’s post match interview is going to be rather interesting to say the least..
  20. Pretty much sums it up for me. I feel like hitting the bottle tonight, i have had enough - bollox to it being a school night aswell ??
  21. With all due respect there is still a lot of football to be played, it’s November not March. Not saying I particularly want Pearson to stay mind you however we all know how Lansdown’s mind works by now - he is a ditherer and won’t act fast IMO.
  22. God knows but Lansdown will act if he can see us genuinely getting dragged into a relegation dogfight. League 1 is not an option for the club.
  23. Watford has now become a big game though now, even that most staunch Pearson supporters must see that.
  24. He won’t go tonight regardless of result - Watford however has become a huge game though now IMO. Lose that and i think Lansdown could act and with the WC break after it could probably be a good time to get it done and somebody else in.
