I’ve said elsewhere I do wonder if this may be a case of unfinished business. Highly unlikely I know and there would need to be quite a change in the club, but I’m sure Leicester City felt the same at the time.

Stranger things have happened though I really can't see for as long as we have our current ownership. It's a shame, if he ever did come back after a bad run by an existing manager, I can only imagine what the atmosphere would be like, a real lift and fight behind the club once again. One can hope.. 🙄

You should follow bosfinesse on insta. Bristol food blogger. He always finds decent places - some off the beaten track.

Not for everyone of course but he's just reviewed the Koocha vegan roast - had it myself and it's outstanding stuff. Really impressive.

I've seen loads of posts criticising LM, saying he's out of his depth, boring, lacking confidence etc. The forum is rife with them

Oh I see what you're saying, I thought you meant calling for him to be sacked.

I do agree I think we as a fanbase should be doing better to keep the heat off of Manning, I think generally most people are doing that though and directing their frustrations above him.

You could argue that there wae still enough to get more points on the board than we did. Anyway, the fact still remains that it's illogical to judge a manager after six games or whatever it is. Even if you have an agenda (as many people do), what good will it do haranguing LM out of a job before he's been given a fair crack of the whip?

Who's been doing that? I haven't seen many (if any) posts suggesting that.

Complaining about the board's ineptitude in getting to this situation isn't the same as wanting LM gone, or not wanting him to succeed.

I'm now starting to question the departure of Alexander. I believe in his leaving statement he said something along the lines of "the club is in good hands with Nige and his team"

So I'm wondering if the writing was on the wall for Nige back then? Obviously something caused Phil to leave and I do not believe them when they say it was a reshuffle.

I'm guessing when I say this but maybe Phil was an advocate for NP and the lack of funds he was given etc.

So therefore in order for the board to get rid of Nige, they needed to get rid of Phil too?

Oh, he was stitched up.  Another who made the mistake of daring to question a Lansdown!!!

    Oh for **** sake.

I hadn't clocked this at the time but this is exactly what has happened isn't it?

I know exactly what you mean and feel, my angst is not with L.M. I really wish he does well. My 60 years of supporting is now disturbed and challenged on how to overcome this contrived situation that has been forced upon what was a very supportive, understanding, and patient support of the N.P. era.

Yep exactly. And just like you, as much as I feel checked out / disinterested, etc, I should clarify that I clearly think LM is a decent bloke and of course I want him to do well. I’m completely clear on that.

It says a lot that even through inconsistent results, you could see what Pearson was doing. It was always the right direction and I’m certain we’d have been in the play offs within the next 2 seasons had that continued. From then on then who knows, but it would have been better than this.

Optimism is just gone now. I’ve watched no more than 10 mins of City without switching over since LM came in and haven’t been down the Gate, just totally disinterested.

  7. Lost interest the minute Pearson was sacked and things are only getting worse.

At least before that, we as fans at least had the illusion of having some sort of a say in the club, a bit of influence. Now we all know it’s only the owner’s opinion that matters and sod the rest of the paying lot. I’d take Nige back in a heartbeat as bizarre as it would be.

Never been so disinterested in City, and it’s not just being dramatic. I feel mentally checked out.

  8. Must admit I find this a bit weird too, but let's be clear - 'offensive' was one of the terms used, but they also said it was 'old-fashioned' and 'irrelevant', so it wasn't all around offence.

I do think it is all a bit cringeworthy and completely old-fashioned to be fair - and it was called upon by the students, so arguably it should ultimately be up to them. Can't say it should really bother anyone either way though.

Incidentally I graduated over a decade ago from a different uni and have no recollection of the anthem being played there either - I don't think it's really a big deal.

I think the problem with his public speaking skills is he doesn’t have experience to fall back on, to think on his feet, because he’s not had the real-world business exposure someone in his position would have.  His dad, although arrogant at times, has been there and done it and can draw upon what he’s been through to word his way around a tricky question.

JL just comes across as awkward.  He shouldn’t need to flounder at a simple question from Christine about engaging with fans.

This is absolutely spot on but on my side I don't really think it's a negative. Whether intentional or not, I'd rather have someone who is either being too truthful or incapable of being anything other than transparent, over another Mark Ashton type character or whatever the alternative would be. Not that I think SL is the latter for one second, but I think JL being unable to fumble his way around a tricky question is not necessarily a bad thing for us as a club.

Maybe I find myself being too quick to jump to his defence after some of the battering he got on here, I'm not sure, and I have absolutely no idea of his actual competence in role, I can only go on what people say. I suppose I'm saying that I'd take his method of communication over a smooth talker who ultimately says nothing. I think the only reason JL basically said nothing yesterday is because the questions didn't really demand anything of interest.

Glad I am not listening. After the last month I am no longer interested in what BT, JL, SL and Robins Bristol City State TV have to say. It is all fart and no s*** as far as i'm concerned.

No matter how they spin things or whatever they say their decisions over the last 5 years have left me with little hope we will be successful in the future and that isn't LM fault in any way and I genuinely wish him the best in luck as he'll need it.

Completely agree with this stance but in all fairness they've all been fine. It's more that the questions have been basically pointless.

I was looking  at booking this exact thing. 28th and 29th December. You been before?

Yeah Oas-Is are good fun, always a good atmosphere when they have so many well-known songs. I loved Supersonic last time I went but I'm a big fan of the Roses and some of the 90's Britpop stuff. It's been a few years though.
