  1. I still don’t know why Joe Jordan didn’t step forward to take a pen - this guy had played for Leeds, Man Utd, AC Milan, Scotland etc - scoring goals at the highest levels and in multiple World Cup finals tournaments - yet he didn’t back himself to splaff one in against Mansfield?! He let five Bristol City defenders take penalties in that shoot out without speaking out as a gnarly old, highly experienced, international centre forward ....
  2. Always a bit silly to declare the result way before the end of the game though ... remember the poster on here who went off on one when we were 0-3 up at Derby? Slagging off everyone who didn’t rate LJ and basically telling everyone who didn’t think LJ was superb that they didn’t know anything about football etc - the final score was Derby 3 Bristol City 3 ...
  3. Really? When was the last time an away team scored three at the Emptyhad?!
  4. There isn’t a vacancy at present - but nice to see @Bristol Oil Services is a fellow pedant, we need to stick together!
  5. I don’t think anyone is ‘stooping to gaschat levels’ - interacting with @Miah Dennehy and @In the Net doesn’t automatically equal “being salty” - banter and having a laugh with them, not at them, is more how I’d describe it. Sure the discussions on more serious subjects get a bit heated and passionate at times but that’s the whole point of a forum, within reason. If anyone had ‘stooped to gaschat levels’ those two gasheads would have been instantly banned from here as soon as they’d opened their gobs ...
  6. Where did you get seven goals from? Surely you must know Martin scored more than that?!
  7. A couple of gas midfielders may be worth that investment ...
  8. Yep, I particularly liked another Beadle goal at Ashton Gate - you know, the one he scored against roverzzz when we demolished you live on TV in December 2000 ... what a special night that was, especially as Bignot gave it loads when he put you ahead in the first few seconds ...
  9. I’m sure that’s the opening line to an Ian Dury Classic ... ???
  10. Steady on Liverpool fan - facts are facts, they are not pedantic ... ??
  11. Division 4 as I like to call it! ???
  12. “Tinkering at the Edges” - a perfect description of my dance floor activities at Papillons back in the day - it’s a phrase that is also in the running for the title of my autobiography ... along with “Life as a Pedantic Pr!ck” and “Raw Meat and Malbec” ...????
  13. “They’ve been lucky to stay up so many times” - really? In the last 16 premier league seasons they’ve finished: 4th, 11th, 6th, 5th, 5th, 8th, 7th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 11th, 11th, 7th, 8th, 8th, 12th, 10th ... those are the finishing positions of a solid, established premier league club ...
  14. Da Roverzzz got the “Best Away Fans” award for the 38th year running ...
  15. Which interview? I could give you a link to the Flint interview saying Carroll and Crouch were his most difficult opponents ...
  16. How do you know @Davefevs wasn’t at the Senior Reds event?
  17. @Davefevs being one of the most committed ‘pool fans on here ...
  18. Surely the one Mr Lansdown built for £40m+ is good enough for you?!
  19. I dunno what you mean by 20 out of 30? Anyhow, whatever you mean it’s less than 20 - my list of 10 was just an example, I said there were more - eg Middlesbrough, Blackpool, Bournemouth etc ... in addition to my initial example list of 10 clubs these have also been recently relegated from the premier league with parachute payments and haven’t made it back ... and there’s probably yet more examples ... eg if Sheffield United don’t go up this season you can add them to the ever growing list ...
  20. You were at a Senior Reds event Dave?!
  21. Fair play - he obviously forgot about Chris Martin when he said Carroll and Crouch in that newspaper interview ...
  22. Really? Which interview was that? I recall a Flint interview with a national newspaper when he was asked ‘who was his hardest opponent’ he replied “Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch” ...
  23. Cheers, thanks for getting back to me - the number of “loyal and true” roverzzzz fans who attend their home games would fit into our Lansdown Stand easily because there would be about 3,000 empty seats to spare - it’s absolutely hilarious - Joey thinks they could sell out our stadium when they’d struggle to fill just one stand within it - given their average crowd ... but, don’t forget, they are coming for us ... ??
  24. I’ve posted for years on here that Weimann is the best, and most intelligent, footballer at our club. And I’ve been criticised and shouted down for that point of view - mostly from the “he only runs around a lot” brigade. And I reckon most of the early sceptics are now the ones on here singing his praises! Yep, there are a few, and they know who they are! I had a brief chat with Andi in the Sainsbury’s on Winterstoke Road in the days after a horrid defeat - he was magnificent - it was obvious he was still gutted and he said he felt the lads had let the fans down and they were all absolutely determined to put things right. He was brilliant and a credit to our club. Not many players would come back from a horrible injury, as Andi has done, and deliver a 20 goal return - he is our best player - and he should be our captain next season ...
