  1. It’s a city and club with facilities that surely deserves to have premiership football…. And I’ll have a couple of quid on a least one reference to Hull and Dean Windass. I’ll take any cliche so long as they don’t use “plucky” in front of our name, more patronising than anything else.
  2. No, as per Mannings post match view we need to be “turning that good into outcomes”… Rather than coaching book speak, we simply need look like scoring goals and not look like conceding them, I’m beginning to think the only outcome that we need is to recruit a manager who actually knows what he’s doing, and perhaps employ a consultant to find that manager as the current board seem clueless on manager selection and retention.
  3. My view is only based on what I’ve seen of him, and as Ive only missed about 2 or 3 games this year, I think is a reasonable amount of time for a fair reflection. in fairness I could be wrong about his crossing of the ball, he’s normally tackled or crowded out by the time we do the obligatory step over and cut inside… Might as well have 9 outfield players on the pitch with him at times. Worth a relatively cheap punt based on Championship fees, but not good enough in this team. I didn’t say that Yeboah offers more, he offers something different. We could do with a half decent wide player brought in on both sides of the pitch.
  4. Then you adapt the style of play to suit the players you have available… previous regimes understood that, maybe our new man should read the section in the coaching handbook about turd polishing…
  5. One half decent season at Wycombe does not make him a championship player. Can’t cross the ball, can’t head the ball, poor at tracking back, poor decision making, he could have all the technical ability in the world but that does not translate to being a championship player. Yeboah is not the finished article either but he has got a bit of determination and pace, and that for me is much more useful and unpredictable which is arguably why the previous manager chucked him on for 15 mins at the end of the game and did not select Mehmeti that much.
  6. Agreed, the odd bright spark has hidden the insipid performances.
  7. It’s no agenda, he’s just not a Championship player, arguably yet, but not now. You might as well replace him with Yeboah, at least he’d scare people with pace, rather than a couple of step overs and the predictable cut inside.
  8. Absolute bollocks. Dreadful and pretty much toothless. As dire a 2nd half performance as I’ve seen for a while. Not impressed with the team or manager, subs too late to make any difference.
  9. It’s the 12 year old alternative to getting a big cigar out and sitting back…
  10. Control the second half and maybe a couple of goals…
  11. That’ll do, job done on us. what’ll it be this time excuse-wise bravery, decision making, or behaviours.
  12. No that many and none that are totally reaaonable. The keeper ***** up once every 4 or 5 games it’s a goal, mehmeti ***** up every 10 mins or so it’s a throw-in. If Max does not come out then it’s a one on one, one of those damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t calls.
  13. Can’t argue that’s not been coming, balls up all round.
  14. Depends on the logistics, time delay, what medical teams are involved and the nature of the medical emergency I guess. I’m sure there is some sort of requirement about the level of medical cover available on pitch side and in the ground. If they are otherwise engaged then that might prevent the game from continuing.
  15. The context of the post was more based on the fact we had a massive support, but looked exceedingly fragile to the quicker pace and movement of WH, sitting on the side of the pitch you could see the midfield looked really disjointed with WH seemingly playing between the lines at will. We were so much better in the 2nd half and looked a totally different team more than matching them, that’s the city I want to see. Perhaps I was just little frustrated especially sitting amongst a whole heap of WH fans who thought it would be a cake walk. Top day out though, and those that were in the away end were brilliant today, I was pretty much sat in a cockney library
  16. The WHU fans I was chatting to had the same view. They don’t like his brand of football. Mad really probably about as successful as they’ll get.
  17. I noticed just before the goal that Mehmeti was playing more inside, that’s kind of support Conway needs.
  18. Take into account the context of the game I’d say that it’s his best goal for City.
  19. Much better second half. I perhaps should have put my original post in some context as I might have unwittingly triggered the forum… The 2nd half performance was up there with the best I’ve seen this season, the first half not so. West Ham won’t be looking forward to the replay.
  20. Much much better 2nd half. So much better. Much more Championship than National League. Did not look outclassed at all. Forced Ward-Prowse much deeper reducing his influence. I’d have kept Conway on personally.
  21. Absolutely this is much more like city. Much happier, although a very curtailed celebration in the Billy Bonds stand
