Got to be honest we’re looking like National league team here for the day out…. Distinctly average thus far, not sure we even have a midfield right now the way the West Ham are cutting through it.

Have we just entered a new period in the history of Bristol City

The last 2 games suggest it’ll take more than tweaks… -
Millwall at home match thread

Very untypical Millwall performance, other than having 2 experienced CBs who’ve played together for years, who managed Conway out of the game, plus the tactical genius idea of lumping the ball upfield to them when Millwall more or less nullified all our attacking threats, which let’s face it weren’t all that. -

Didn’t see the start of the incident, the forum’s been more interesting than the game. -

Handbags plus a good opportunity for Millwall to waste a bit of time.. -

Thought Millwall have played well, their change in management is clearly working. Although we are very good at passing backwards. -

Jesus, I’m having a ‘mare today, meant Cornick. It’s the effect of watching this tedium -

Clearly Manning does not rate Cornick. I think this is his sort of game, more than capable of handling the physicality. -

I’d be taking Mehmeti off too, their full back has got him so sussed, a couple of step overs and the inevitable cut inside. I’d be giving Cornick a little go if Manning is looking for the 3 to be narrow when we have the ball. -

BS - No he’s not. He’s a defensive rb, not an attacking wing back. Has nothing in front of him as Wiemann is pretty much anonymous, so has to pass it back to recycle. -

Exactly this, Tanner had a good game against a lively threat and I can’t recall him putting a foot wrong. He’s not Pring and you’re not going to get gallivanting runs up the right flank, but he will keep the ball moving. He’s not a bad understudy when Macoirie (definitely not spelt correctly) becomes the starter -

Totally agree, we’ve long heard about decision making and poor decisions costing goals at either end of the pitch, but it does appear that of late there is an environment being created might help that decision making process, plus a higher level of confidence. I don’t think it’s churlish to suggest that Sykes and Mehmeti both had opportunities to play people into better positions during the game but made the wrong decision, Sykes with Conway as you’ve mentioned, but Mehmeti with Knight also in the second half where he tried to play a cute inside pass to Conway when Knight was totally unmarked in front of him. I think that ruthlessness might come with time. -

I rather like a touch of salad cream to go with my humble pie, but a meal I'm happy to have. I was really concerned after the results and performances up to and including the Blackburn game together with some of the interviews that LM had combined with the fixture list up to Millwall, but whether he's tweaked his style slightly or the players have grasped what he wants them to do, the last few performances have been up there and this is becoming an entertaining team to watch again. -

He's had his detractors in the past and he's had fits and starts, but I would say that that was his best 90 minute performance for the club. Always in and amongst it, be it intercepting, tackling or generally disrupting Watford's flow. -

What part “let’s enjoy just the result” makes you think I need cheering up? I’m not sure you needed to go with the patronising kid line, but for whatever it’s worth I’m more than happy, but if being a WUM gives you a little ego boost, then fill your petty little boots sunshine, everyone should find their little bit of happiness at this time of year. I’m going to enjoy 3 wins on the spin and City playing some decent football and a bit of account blocking to remove the irritants. -

The good thing is that with a bit more tweaking there’s clearly more to come.
