  1. Yawn. Perhaps consider your own advice. Let’s just enjoy the result.
  2. He has, you just needed to have a dig. Just enjoy the afternoon and be done with it.
  3. The keg of North St cider I got delivered for Xmas is tasting that bit nicer tonight…
  4. Very very much liking what I’m seeing. I’ll take back all the reservations I held about the changes made in management. Very nice to dick Watford at their place
  5. Always nice to see how someone who went through the ranks adapts to higher league football. You don’t care, but others might appreciate how he’s getting on. Dont like it, then ignore. Simples. Excellent FH at Watford mind
  6. Look at the video that’s been attached to this thread, the player in there is not utterly out of his depth at this level, 10 mins here or there, usually towards the end end of the game where we are either absolutely going for it or trying to shore up is not going to bring a player back to form nor is it going to play to his strengths. By your definition using Martin as a baseline Conway is utterly out of his depth too. Give him a run of 6 or 7 games starting and I think we’ll see a different Cornick.
  7. To my mind forwards need to play regularly to pick up the speed of the game, to get their rhythm and more importantly confidence. Playing 15 mins here or there and playing wide just doesn’t suit Cornick. 6 or 7 consecutive games of 60 mins or more then Cornick does not misfire on the one on one he had at the end of the game. I think he’s another one like Conway, better as a 2. I like him as he gives us something we don’t have in terms of a slightly more physical and in your face element, the video shows clearly what he’s capable of, we just don’t lay him to his strengths.
  8. We absolutely cannot be allowed to be relegated. It’s difficult enough to compete with ex-Prem teams with parachute payments, being relegated for a season or so would put us so much into a back foot with regard to income and budgets that we’d struggle to compete going forwards and become a Rotherham-like team, that being good enough for League One promotion but not good enough to stay up. If Manning is unable to change it around and we get pulled into a relegation battle, then the trigger needs to be pulled, young coach with exciting ideas or not. Paging Mr Warnock for his annual getting a team out of the mire and keeping them up performance.
  9. Brand new account, we are arguing with either a Bristol Sport employee or a troll. Block and not worth the time and effort of a reasoned or sensible argument, you can’t debate an agenda. There’s a few accounts like this on the forum at present. All with much the same type of post.
  10. No you are not, you are employed to get results… Nothing needed a major overhaul, that could have been done when the season was all but over, namely mid table obscurity or preseason. Unless he can make this work effectively there is a real possibility of being pulled into the mire. Let’s see where we are come kick off against Millwall.
  11. You tweak and not make wholesale changes, and slowly introduce your ideas, to don't turn it upside down not mid-season. NP's teams were solid if not spectacular, he was building in spite of having players sold around him, but we were by and large difficult to beat. The concern is that we could easily be pulled into the lower end of the table, playing well for 30 mins here and there won't cut it. God knows what the game plan was last night and then with the substitutions when it looked like we were coming back into the game, there is a theme with odd and counter-productive substitutions right now.
  12. I commented on this last night, it was not so much what he said but the body language and the conviction with which it was delivered, he’s not the best media performer granted, but I felt it was almost that he did not believe what he was actually saying. He had a good starting point in a team that was relatively solid, so surely the starting point was to add to to what was already there rather than rip it all up and start to reprogram the players mid season in a competitive league, he has to accept responsibility for that rather than say the players are overloaded, there was no need to do it. As fans we’ve got little choice other than to give him time now, agreed we are playing it fits and starts but that is offset by our ability to concede soft goals which was something that we’d seemed to have sorted prior to the change. Jan will be very important as will our league position at the time, if you are a League 1 starlet would you be interested in a comfortable mid-table with play-off potential or a team skirting the relegation places where there is a risk of quickly returning from whence you came. I genuinely feel for the bloke, when you sign on the dotted line you are ultimately thinking of being successful, we appear to be some way from that, and if (appreciate again this is speculation) he’s questioning himself at this early stage I hope he’s got a support network he can reach out to.
  13. Not sure you can describe a potential relegation fight as season write off, as that’s where will be if this lot can’t get their collective acts together…
  14. You’re not making an unreasonable point, but better made once the anger has died down. No amount of protesting will bring NP back, and I suspect he would not want to. I think that LM is out of his depth and needs some support either from the fan base or a trusted contact. Maybe he’ll learn from the adversity and be a better manager in the long term. he does sound a bit broken tonight.
  15. Starting to feel sorry for the bloke. I’m absolutely sure he’s got the best intentions and is trying to implement what worked for him previously, but perhaps he’s taking too many big steps forward in his career before he’s ready. The Championship is an unforgiving place to manage.
  16. That’s worrying 5 or 6 games in. That’s the pressure of the Championship I guess.
  17. Wholly unnecessary driven by bruised egos when confronted by the truth by somebody that knew more about football than them.
  18. Is it worth asking Oxford if they have a refund policy on slightly soiled returns?
  19. I felt old whilst describing the benefits of Beta Max prawn
  20. Are sky bet likely to give odds on what time the first “dont know what you’re doing” chant is recorded on Sat?
  21. Perhaps just massively pissed off by bollocks. Kindly do one.
  22. Not sure I agree with that, needless 2nd set of substitutions that lost our impetus. Plus a terrible Blackburn team that scored twice to our once. The currency of football is goals and points not how you got them.
  23. Perhaps some owners with a bit of drive, that don’t do nepotism.
  24. This has been a OTIB good thread, made me smile whilst ignoring the game
  25. No you all had it too easy, hiding said vhs or Betamax in the garage so your parents didn’t find it…
