  1. Where has all this nest egg bollocks come from all of a sudden? I get that the Lansdown’s are marmite, but do we want owners like the Venkys, the current Sheff Wed one, or be run like Reading. There is never in a million years that Lansdown will recoup the money he’s put in, so hardly a nest egg. Football will always be a selling game, we produce a star player and they will always want to a) test their skills at a higher level, and b) maximise their earnings in what is comparatively a short career. IF a player wants out then invariably they will get sold on, NP has always been clear that he only wants players in the squad that want to be here. Surely it makes good sense to maximise the income from the sale of a player who clearly is destined for a much higher level than we are currently capable of achieving? That’s not creating a nest egg that’s just sensible practice. Arguably unless you are a top 6 Prem team you are a selling team, likewise teams perennially below us with player with potential are our targets. I don’t think the current custodians of the club have got everything right, but I’d rather an ownership with local affinity rather some US debt leveraged affair fronted by a once famous quarterback…
  2. He could equally of scored but for a very good last minute tackle, he’s got pace and he’s a handful who will only get better the more he plays. We’re crying out for Conway to start but he came in as a bit part substitute when he first started getting first team minutes. Every minute on the pitch he’ll learn he could and should have been much further back helping his full back for their 3rd, but again that’s learning. we can’t big up our academy and then not give them opportunities, then knock them if we lose.
  3. I get you are pissed off, but that is a ridiculous statement, they've played well in pretty much all the games this season bar Birmingham and from 40 mins in this one. This is not a relegation team, far from it.
  4. I'd personally start Cornick over Wells in the middle at present, looks much more effective there than wide
  5. Pretty much that I think - 3 shots on goal, 3 goals. All 3 of them arguably defendable, that was city defending of last season, not this, just looked really disjointed at the back again especially after the substitutions
  6. Handball to my mind, it is had not of hit his arm I think the ball would have rolled to the oncoming striker. Ref was never going to give it though, he was giving Leicester soft stuff all afternoon, so would not be giving us anything vaguely contentious.
  7. Exactly that Naismith’s been squared up if he doesn’t try to challenge then it’s probably a goal, so has to stick his leg out, no forward minded player is ever going to turn that down, made it easy for the ref.
  8. There are positives to be had, Leicester are a very good team, I think anyone finishing above them will be promoted. Good defensive display given the amount of ball they had, but the defensive display meant that we could not be as attacking as we could have been. Thought we were a bit slow passing in midfield at times, we’re better when moving the ball at pace.
  9. Pretty much decided he would end up just chasing a shadow, better to move into a position to pick up the ball if the player is tackled further down the field. But hey it’s Cornick so must be at fault. Wells and Bell had been doing that pretty much all game.
  10. Slow passing in midfield is not helping us, TG with the hospital pass
  11. We sort that issue of taking the chances when they come, then I think we’ll have an exciting season. Pearson does point out our decision making as a weakness at times
  12. Don’t need to do much to get this ref to make a decision Leicester’s way. Naismith made it easy for him though.
  13. Has The ref been offered a Thai holiday with “extras” surely that’s handball?
  14. Tanner’s going to have his work cut out, they do seem to be targeting his side with diagonal balls.
  15. Think it’s tactical on our part, making midfield very crowded to stop Leicester playing the intricate stuff through the middle. The cost though is not having so much of a forward presence.
  16. Not really, to use a cricketing analogy, rather than the chip shot just dropping in front of mid-off he ended up giving it a full blooded drive right down his throat. So it this case he managed to get his left foot right around it hence dragging his shot towards the centre of goal rather than the right hand corner, that’s how you can do it too well.
  17. Agreed on the difference of the benches, it was more of an observation that generally that we are slow to react to tactical changes and with hindsight today of how the flow changed when we went to a 3 then 5 at the back
  18. Said on the match thread that if anything he hit it too well and ended up pulling it centrally, any less of a touch and that’s in the corner.
  19. Great performance I thought until the legs started going for a few of the players Wells, Pring and Naismith, amazing tackle from him at the end. I think it’s fair criticism to question the delay in our making changes, arguably making those 10 mins earlier might have stopped the WBA pressure. My only real concern is that at times we are slow to react from the bench.
  20. He got hold of it well enough, arguably too well as it went more central than into the corner, giving the keeper more of a chance. Won’t be enough for those that have selected Cornick as this season’s scapegoat though.
