Nick Carle Gone To Palace / Replacements

Lets hope all of this will be over soon.

I think it will be.

However, the delay could be that like someone said, Neil Danns is also part of the deal and he has to have a medical and could have been on holiday.

What ever it is, I'm sure all will be revealed tomorrow.

well i suppose we will see tomorrow if it is true :dunno:

For once, it is.

Remember, Crystal Palace is the buying club and it's their transfer to reveal when he signs. I assume the delay is because Carle can't get to London to sign until tomorrow.

There's no way City would announce it before Palace do, given what Adam said in his blog about transfers the other day.

I know our Palace friend a few mails back said it was all done and dusted, but......!

Palace are also after Yeates from Colchester who has failed a medical with a shoulder problem. Anyone else think that maybe Yeates is their first choice and the delay in finalising the Carle deal is that Yeates is off for specialist checks on his injury?

According to Skysports last week.. they quoted Warnock as saying Yeates was indeed just that... No.1 choice. That is public domain info by the way.

Doesn't look like the announcement was delayed to coincide with a major transfer in as some on here hoped then. :disapointed2se:

Maybe its was delayed until someone signed. Just because there is no announcement as yet, does not mean we have not signed someone!

Disappointing to lose a player with Carle's skill on the ball but it does seem there was more to this than what is currently public from GJ's comments and he's earned the right for us to trust his decisions.

I think this means we will see another central midfielder come in to supplement what we have already unless GJ has decided that Artus is good enough to compete at the top of the Championship this season.

:D :D thats for the Artus remark. Mind you, would that not be fabulous if it were to come to pass.

Yep, very disappointing news on the face of it and I for one wish the guy well and thank him for entertaining us. A little frustrating Gary J is not prepared to divulge all but he must have his reasons and indeed perhaps so might Carle. I hope City turned a tidy profit.

I do trust GJ more than i care about Nick Carle..so it's alright. But would like an exciting signing in the summer especially up front. I'll start being dissapointed if it's September and noone else has come in. Which as I trust out manager, don't believe will happen.

4 year deal though, must have paid alot to tie him down for that long.

CARLE COMPLETES PALACE MOVE !!

Nick Carle has completed a permanent transfer to Crystal Palace for an undisclosed fee. The Australian has signed a four-year contract after agreeing terms and passing a medical with the London club.

It brings to an end the midfielder's seven-month stay with City, whom he joined from Turkish club Genclerbirligi back in January for an undisclosed sum.

Gary Johnson told www.bcfc.co.uk/ "You can't always give all the reasons for why you've done something, but the most important thing is we're doing it for the right reasons." Gavin Williams joined last Friday, but Gary insists the former Ipswich Town midfielder is not a direct replacement for the outgoing Carle.

"That would be unfair," he said. "They're different types of players, although of course both are midfielders. You want to get your midfield players scoring goals as well as creating them and I'm trying to get the best team together to do that.

"I can understand any surprise there is amongst our supporters [about the Nick Carle move] but I think I've been here long enough for people to know...[that] every decision I make is for the betterment of this football club."

Carle made 20 appearances in City colours since his switch from Turkey, but failed to find the net once.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I wonder if there's any significance that there were no positive words about Carle in GJ's statement? No "so long and thanks for everything".

But does Gary ever give praise when a player departs? He is, from memory, quite matter of fact about things and remarks that it was right for the club. I may be wrong though.

not happy

very dissapointed with carle for leaving us like this, showing little respect to the club.

thought he would want to stay whatever

do not clap him next season against palace

Isn't that a bit odd seeing as we have no idea why he left yet? Perhaps he'll be unprofessional and break the silence in his signing for Palace interview.

Has anyone ever said it was his decision to leave?

I am very disappointed that he's gone. The best football we played was at the end of last season when Carle, Trundle and Noble where in the team. We scored 8 goals in the 4 matches he started, a far better return than when he didn't.

I will clap him next season to thank him for his performances for us, if it wasn't for Johnson being forced to play him at the end of the season due to injuries, I doubt that we would have even made the play-offs!

From this article, I think he wanted to leave.......to a massive club :noexpression:

Carle actually started 14 games, starting all bar his last 5 appearances in a wide position at that.

Is that a mistake by City, or is someone trying to distort the facts to suit how they want to portray Carle's time with us?
