Admin Ian M Posted May 16, 2012 Admin Report Share Posted May 16, 2012 He's always been touted as a good young player but he's never really found a club to give him that consistency. I wouldn't be very excited about him but he's obviously better than what he have. Well considering we don't have any specialist left backs, I'm better than what we have. And I'm very very shit! West Sussex Red
Joe Mattock released by WBA. Possibility for us? I know Haynes tore him apart that time but he could do that to anyone on his day. http://www1.skysport...om-release-four what about nicky shorey as another possibility? brad blit
The thing is, the only place we've been linked with him is on here and i'll be honest, going purely off last night (which isn't really fair on him I admit), he doesn't look that great He's already spoken to McInnes, again I'm not saying how I know or if the deal will go ahead but City are currently his preferred club (he is wanted by 3/4 others)
Dan Robin
Stevenage will be in League One next season so if I were Del, I would try to sign one of their defenders (maybe Laird). Then,a prolific goalscorer like Beavon could be a good addition in attack (if the price is ok), and for the midfield IMO a creative player to provide competition for Kilkenny could be very useful: what about Huddersfield's Roberts, or S****horpe's O'Connor? However, an alternative could be a midfielder with an eye for the goal: maybe Wordsworth would cost too much, so maybe...Sweeney?

Not too expensive either
redcherryberry
what about nicky shorey as another possibility? Old washed up and on big wages. Not the route this club should be taking especially with the new financial rule coming into play soon. Laird got to be our main target for me at LB. Young local cheap and talented. Steppng up from a team like Stevenage to us he would have somethng to prove. He would be hungry. You wont get that with older players whose already had decent careers (& injuries) like Shorey. What about Draper at New Saints, the New Zeland international,he is English born.So would not need a work permit. He fired them in all season. And might be able to step up,if guys like Vardy are going for a million. And playing at about the same level. That is a good shout Jock to be fair. I presume you mean Greg Draper who play's in the Welsh league? If so then another local lad (somerset) but i doubt this club has ever heard of him. Chris Wood when here on loan from WBA said their's loads of NZ lads who could peform in the Championship. Hopefully he mentioned him to Del. Bound to be a few second rate gems the prem clubs don't want... or maybe he just fancies a trip to the Ukraine.

Not too expensive either Laird is available for free, as is Lewis. Barnett wont happen and not sure Freeman is good enough for this level. McManus would be on high wages and isn't he left footed? We want a right sided centre half to partner Fontaine.

Paul Taylor - Peterborough who has been transfer listed I'd love to see Whitbread here, provided he's over his injury problems. I have a couple of Norwich-supporting mates who've said he's been very good when he's played in EPL, I think we'd have to be in early for him mind Other than that, I think Pack is the player I'd most like to see from that list although I'm only going off what other have said about him
The Jock
http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/18027438 Wonder if we was one of those clubs. Quite possible. Johnny Russell would be good. Russell is to good for the championship. The bids were from EPL clubs. And the news is about a week old now.Russell got his first Scotland call up for the USA game.Keep to trying to sign Ryan Donnolly off Airdrie.Tune in to the second leg off the play off game on BBC Alba and get a look at him soon. brad blit
Have I not mentioned this several times on here? Sorry if I've not. but seemingly naff all chance of him coming here. Mousinho and Laird to PNE by all accounts after their contracts ran out to link up again with Westley and, PNE need a LB. It's well known in Preston that that is at least what the proposed deal is. If it doesnt come off for some reason I'd be surprised. And i have also mentioned various times that we are his favoured choice of club! Again not saying how I know but he has already spoke to McInnes and is wanted by 3/4 clubs but City are his first choice. Whether City decide to sign him (they would be stupid if they didnt) or not I dont know, but thats the only way I could imagine him going to Preston. Its purely speculation about Preston due to links with his old manager
Lew-T
The ITK's think it's a done deal up here, rather than speculation for both Mousinho and Laird, which is why I mentioned it. They were bang on the money with Welsh signing from Tranmere, so I've no reason to doubt them How come we are his (Laird's) favoured club? Maybe the others clubs are in league one? i.e. Preston

Im not doubting you are going by what you've read, especially if its from someone who has got deals correct in the past. Im only going by what iv been told, Scott is a local lad and all his family/partner are still based in Somerset so he wants to stay in the area. We've all seen threads by people saying they have been told by the players agents mum twice removed uncle who heard something at a game of poker......... but this is definitely correct! Unless someone else has approached him since i last got my information, Scott's preferred club is City (out of 3/4) and he has already spoke to McInnes direct. If we are his preferred club why does he look set to join Preston? I know they have his old manager but we are in a higher league and are local to his birth place..
