Anyone else use to read SHOOT! (incorporating Goal) Magazine in the 70s? When they unceremoniously sacked off 'Goal' and reverted just to 'SHOOT!', I stopped buying it. Just didn't seem right, somehow.

!

I read SHOOT for a bit and then I moved on to 90 Minutes....which itself disappeared. A couple of the contributors went on to start Loaded Magazine.

Highland Toffee is still about.

Too many pubs have gone too mention including the Wedlocks and the Ship and Castle.

I often walk/drive past what used to be 'The Progress' in Coombe Dingle (now a nursery) and think to myself..."what a shame".

The Plough

There's four more Bemmy pubs that have bite the dust.

My granny, who was Scottish, called Highland Toffee "Coo candy" (cos there was a coo on the wrapper).
