Well we're 220 odd ahead with 7 wickets down..if we get up to 250 plus that could be a good target to set although can also depend on overhead conditions a bit.

Headingley like Trent Bridge and st times Lord's can be somewhat dependent on overhead conditions for how a game can play out...certainly been the case in the past.

Talking of Trent Bridge, Notts are surely going back up. 4 batting points, 1 bowling point to dare. Needed iirc 7 points absolute max...well they're 576 ahead and Durham have 4 wickets down in 1st Innings, won't lose that one!

Surrey have won the title and clearly aren't going for it, well Lancashire are weather permitting in a strong position there.

At least we know we have two good batters coming in next year.  We could do with a good overseas to add to it.

It sounds like Siddle is definitely coming back, maybe with coaching duties.

Strange season in strange cricketing times. A very enjoyable T20 campaign and great to maintain our unmatched run in the top flight.

Now time to concentrate on City, starting with a the very busy month of October

2 wins to end the season, nice!

Some of our 2019 Division Two form came to the fore, too late but maybe if we keep as much of the squad together as possible we can have a go next year.

I was looking back at games, there were two fairly close ones v Northants that we could have won at least one of, fine margins eh...

Well done Glos, shame didn’t find form a bit earlier although I think we’d be waving goodbye ourselves

I wonder how much was because the pressure was off knowing they were relegated

Yes, if they’d had the same attitude for the whole season that they have had in September. As others have said, maybe the attitude changed and nerves went once it was too late.

Having said that, 25 points from safety despite consecutive victories, is falling quite a bit short. Hopefully they’ll hit the ground running next season.

The bottom line is we snatched defeats from the jaws of draws. At Lancs and Hampshire, we were a handful of overs away from securing draws. We should’ve beaten Northants at home and at Somerset. We’ve been soundly outplayed four times (at Kent and Essex, and at home to Somerset, and Hampshire).

If we keep Zafar for next year, we should be there or thereabouts at the top. Who knows what division we could end up in after the Strauss Review, though.
