So does this mean I cant go because I haven't bought a ticket to a game in the last 2 years?

Imagine there will be some kind of ID checking when picking up tickets so I cant even borrow someones ST to get myself a ticket?!

Without meaning to be judgemental, you're 22, 2 posts on the forum, haven't been in a game in two yeas; I'd say you're part of the group of people causing these restrictions to be in place.

Junction 33 as well? I'm not used to driving on that side of the river (thankfully), but to me that looks further than is necessary to go to get to the stadium, or is that the way most people would drive?

it makes you go the long way missing centre of Cardiff and takes you in back way.

I thought it was like a bubble last time we were there? 100's off the train station then pushed in to a pub they could not fit in to but no one could leave and at full time kettled in to the car park with the fence around it and gates locked with a line of Police with battens out, you were then put in an escort and marched all around Cardiff and pushed towards the train station regardless of how you traveled to to Cardiff and not forgetting being baited like animals in a cage being poked and pushed by Police for a reaction so they could arrest you for their statistics.

Sod them Cardiff are not getting my money and sadly sky will win this one as i'll pop down the Spanish bar with a pint and watch it there, arm chair supporting sounds the right thing to do than being bullied by the Police on a Monday night.

exactly my experience of that day. A LOT of the problems that happened that day were more than preventable.

like don't put 500 people in a pub with a capacity of 200

Yeah i remember that well after being escorted from the station to the pub i managed to get in but my friends didn't. After 5 minutes i went back out to find them and then wasn't allowed back in again. I managed to bluff my way out through the barrier of police, walked about 100 yards down the road and saw our community police officer who recognised me and said to go back, which i ignored. I waited for my friends to bluff their way out too which worked, then went to a pub down the road. Had a good time there and a nice chat with the locals, no problems whatsoever. After the game we held back from the escort and made our own way back to the pub. The police were definitely over the top and the ones causing trouble. I hope no one goes to this game and when sky asks where all the away fans are they can say how over the top the police are.

not necessarily, the frequency of my posting has little, if not, 0 relevance to this. I'm just not really into posting/discussion on this forum..

I have however been to a few games over the last few years (was a ST holder 6/7 years ago) albeit not as regularly as many due to the fact that I play football on a Saturday instead nowadays.. But when I have been to games in the last 2 years (most recently the Birmingham game) it's been buying/borrowing from other ST holders. Not once have I ever instigated trouble or wrong doing..

as the old saying goes 'don't judge a book by its cover'

Just recreate the match at home.

The missus has already agreed to make me wait 30 minutes for a coffee at half ttime, throw cups of piss at me from the other sofa and hit me at random intervals with a baton for no apparent reason.

Job's a good un

Without a shadow of doubt - the funniest thing I've ever had the unfortunate pleasure of reading on here.  Whose urine is she going to be throwing at you???

Funny thing about football is that it is meant for entertainment yet they make it inconvenient for the fan. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Is there not someone that communicates to the club on our behalf? What's too far? I don't like this but I'm one person. Not going to make a change because I don't like it. Everyone needs to make a stand. We need to press our club to say no. Have Bristol City refuse to sell any tickets or not accept an allocation then don't give Cardiff an allocation. It's a joke this is.

That was pretty much my experience of that day Mr T Red. Although when the pub into which we were herded got too claustrophobic me and my mates just walked out and pushed through the police lines as they came out with the old classic 'if you leave on your own we cannot guarantee your safety"...!!!!

So we found a pub up the road and had a couple of pints whilst having a chat with the locals, no problems at all.

After the game we said to a police guy who looked a bit relaxed that we just wanna go home without being marched along streets in an escort and he just smiled and showed us an alternative route back to the station, top man.

What was hilarious though is that back in Bristol we were then thrust into the Reckless Engineer pub and locked in (!!) by the police saying that Cardiff fans were reportedly on the train behind us making their way to cause trouble in our fair city!

We watched out the window as at least ten police vans hurriedly made their way up to the station but nothing seemed to be happening. So, locked in the pub with lots of fellow City fans we took advantage of the cider pumps and waited for the band to come on....
