Flagon
I don't really get this decision. How many other games around the country have this treatment? Are the police openly stating they have no way of controlling this match unlike countless other high if not higher profile games? I understand it could be harder work and a pain but at the end of the day they are employed by the clubs / councils to keep order and safety. What's the point of stating it will be reviewed in future should there be little in the way of trouble when in all likelihood if there are hardly any of us there if it gets boycotted and or just nothing really happens because of the awkward measures put in place? It's not exactly the greatest measurement to assess it against. When I went over last time a policeman told me it was the largest escort that they had to do and they were surprised by the numbers that travelled by train.....erm it's like half hour or so on the train for alot of fans and not exactly expensive so it was hardly surprising. I wonder if a club like Cardiff took some action against the police for loss of income, due to less away fans attending how that would stand up in a legal challenge? I know Leeds are in legal dispute with Yorkshire constabulary about £500,000 bill over the last two seasons. It all boils down to tthe clubs only paying for police inside the stadium, but Leeds were charged for outside and surrounding area of Elland road. I remember Louis careys testimonial match v rovers had a £82,000 police bill. Which with a small crowd 9,000 couldn't have made much profit. Police are definitely having more of a say on things, kick off times and days.
Bar BS3
The best solution to this is for everyone still to go and smash up the services, scare innocent passers by and all get drunk there. They wont want us going there again if that happens...!

They wont want us going there again if that happens...! the worrying thing for me is that could be the reality. Only need a few idiots from both sets of supporters and there'll be carnage. On the bright side, only gonna cost me £5, and I can go straight to the ground (Disabled Policy).Gonna feel a bit lonely waiting for the rest of you to turn up. Flagon
I don't remember there being any problems when they came to Ashton Gate last time and that wasn't a bubble or with restrictions. Could it be Avon & Somerset handled it better? Why couldn't they just learn from what was done when they came to us and what was wrong about when we went there? I assume when Spurs play Arsenal they don't get a voucher and collect a ticket somewhere on the m25
Flagon
Just to confirm before I try to book tickets tomorrow - can we make our own way to the services? Or do we have to be on CATS?as far as I'm aware yes, but you cannot collect tickets until around 6.15pm. CATS service also in same position. The idea behind it being if limits the amount of time hanging around in the city before the game as I suspect it will be quite tight timescale assuming we still sell loads. Initial allocation of 1500, if they all sell that's quite a few tickets to hand out from 6.15pm to allow those at back of queue to get to the ground and in before 7.45pm. Someone decent at maths could probably work out the speed they will need to hand them over. If they gave us full allocation because we sold it I'd be amazed if everyone got in before kick off

Jamwoo
Tickets booked, but I can't seem to get the season ticket price for CATS. It wants to charge me £19 a seat, even after assigning tickets. I'll get on to supporter services but really looking forward to this game. Even with the over the top policing trying to put a dampener on it!

Even with the over the top policing trying to put a dampener on it! Just got mine. It said 19.00 for me too for CATS but once selected it automatically reduced to 14.00. I phoned the club just before because I initially thought it was going to charge 19.00. If you are still getting an issue they can do it over the phone. Flagon
All booked. My first away day of the season. Just the three of us is it?yep. I got coach 3 to myself. Chance of quick drink or two at half time without the queues and a pie. What's not to like. Hopefully nearer the time, not that long though, interest will pick up despite arrangements. I see on their forum a few posts thinking they are selling theirs well and a few saying they are up for it wanting a great atmosphere.
