It's barely even news is it?! Young lads out having a couple of drinks...they have Wednesday's off anyway.

No doubt team spirit etc is enhanced by things like this.

Hope they had more luck gambling then I did today...

I think you should contact The Sun and get them to change their headline to that.

I have no problem with young professional athletes having a few few drinks at the right time - frankly this is not the right time. Sure go to the races, sure enjoy yourself, but getting involved in stuff like this isn't on.

Lets see how may on here that are condoning it are happy if we lose 0-3 on Saturday.

I am not a professional sportsperson, I wish I was, but there is a time and place, and for extremely well paid footballers - yes even at BCFC - that is in the summer, not now.

Your absolutely spot on. Yes they are young lads and yes, they have to let their hair down and enjoy themselves....BUT...this was not the time and place.

These lads get paid an obscene amount of money, and for that reason...they should be professional at all times. I have no problems with going out on a Saturday night. They more then likely have Sunday off. Today though? They are preparing for a big game on Saturday...and to be out drinking just 4 days before just isn't good enough.

Really disappointed  to see this I have to say

Was a City player pictured with a drink? Every picture I saw had them standing around. And if they have had 1 or 2 for example the effects of it would be burnt off through the rest of the day before they've gone to bed and therefore no lasting effect the next day. If the club don't trust them to be professional then I highly doubt they'd have even been allowed to go or expect there would have been someone from the club there keeping an eye on them.

If I was his manager I'd be having seriously strong words with him, in fact I wouldn't even wait until 2moro I'd be banging on his front door. You want the right players at the club, players who can act professionaly at all times. He himself has done no wrong but by socialising with the wrong type him and the club find themselves on the front page of the sun. I'd be warning him strongly about who he associates with. Personally it appears he is somewhat enjoying his friends behaviour and that's worrying. I think this could beginning of the end for him here.

I very much doubt that they'd have been drinking if they weren't allowed, knowing that the place would be rammed with paparazzi.

Fairly certain Ayling has a glass of bubbly in his hand

And the fact in one photo he is draped all over his mate says to me he has had a couple

Ahhhhh is this the right time to use the word "Banter"?

Fxxk give a couldn't - rearrange that sentence and that's my feelings on this.

A scene replicated in the majority of the boxes and beer tents at Cheltenham today and the rest of the festival (where I've seen much worse by the way)

I was in a group that included a few England internationals that evaded the Met's finest at Lords after "high jinks" got a bit out of hand - didn't stop one of them scoring a hat trick the following afternoon.

As long as they are right for Saturday what they do in their spare time is their business.

Footballers are famously not the brightest,  bit I genuinely can't see there is anything to comment on here.

Some players on a day off stood near some bloke from another club who made a **** of himself.

I agree. And if we win on Saturday I'm sure this will be forgotten by most!

The unfortunate issue is we have made similar excuses for a Bevy (bad pun) of players particularly, but not limited to, from the Wilson era.

I agree with your sentiment but fear a culture we have seen before too many times. My guess is LJ will not be pleased not necessarily about the drinking but the reflected ignominy of being stood next to a 'piss artist' and around birds with their baps out!

The beginning of the end? I'm not even sure if you've wrote all that just to be controversial, in fact I hope you have because if not you are an absolute b*****d. What has he actually done apart from stand there and watch his mate do it? What's he supposed to drag him to the toilet? Get off your high horse, asif you have never done anything like that get a ******g grip
