Having seen another vid in addition to this, it's pretty damning when the PV steward throwing punches is dragged back by a Police Officer and a Steward and thrown to the ground. That's unusual. I accept there was possibly provocation, but the steward threw 5 or 6 haymakers and the Police Officer grabbed him straight away. He is clearly seen being escorted by the Police out of the stand. Who knows what was said, but blimey, there were at least 2 stewards who completely lost the plot. Rent-A-thug spring to mind. Be interesting to see if any of them are charged. It might be a bit too early to accuse Rovers this time. 2p

In the Net
I believe that one steward was arrested, presumably the one throwing punches. Port Vale fans have said that the stewards are "rent-a-thug" types, who enjoy a ruck to the extent that they try and provoke people to react. Throw some kids who've had a few shandies into the mix and it's not going to have a happy ending.

I'm sure you jest, however I have no doubt whatsoever that City fans, without a game on Saturday, en mass, converged on the Port Vale match day staff hut, over powered the stewarding department, relieved them of their high vis attire and waited in situ to attack these poor, innocent, family club supporters.

Ska Junkie
They seem to be complaining that the net wasn't moved which is what I was told. I imagine the stewards told them to bugger off into the mass swathe of empty seats to their right. Maybe they don't know which way is right? Now I understand why the stewards didn't move the net, they didn't need to move the damn thing! As he's a self employed plasterer, that's a real problem for him. I've been told there were not enough seats in the assigned area and that the stewards were telling people to sit down when there was nowhere to sit and it kicked off from there. They MAY be the innocent party for a change?
