Queens Park Rangers at home match thread

Is the problem today that the forward line isn't firing, isn't playing as sharply as they have done? Weimann's been flat, Conway and Wells have been kept separate by QPR and those two aren't clicking today.

Ultimately there's not enough pressure on QPR, allowing them to put more pressure on us. We all know our defence is fragile.

And then we blow out one big chance.

Naismith is rapidly becoming a liability

Yeah he’s frustrating because he shows you glimpses of quality and then within seconds he’ll stupidly put us under pressure which has on numerous times this season cost us a goal.. he really shouldn’t be the central defender, needs to be pushed out to RCB when TK returns.

20 mins of great football.

25 minutes of general garbage.

The authors of our own demise…again.

Guilty of giving the ball away too often in dangerous positions and then compounded with too often a complete inability to track runners.

Naismith pressed hard and into more mistakes as the half went on. The team generally losing it’s way after the second goal - Conway with a shocking decision to not feed Wells for an absolute sitter for 2-1 on 42 minutes.

QPR press well and get forwards quickly and with good support, but we’ve gifted them two goals there.

Next goal for us and the game could get interesting for us but you fancy QPR to get a third in the second, so huge mountain to climb.

First half thoughts

Despite playing some nice stuff we’ve not threatened their goal, Zak Vyner and Tommy Conway having the best opportunities to score.

We’ve been punished for really poor decisions/giving the ball away cheaply in transition. They had further  good chances on 31, 32 and 41 minutes to add to their lead. Frightening how easily they have opened us up on occasions and how often it’s been due to our errors.

Obviously the next goal will be vital. Think NP will make changes at half-time.

Thats not a problem, some days our offence will be kept quite, its when your defence is leakier than a leaky persons leaky bits while on a Saturday afternoon swim in leakville.

HT 0-2, after a bright opening start, QPR have been on top since the 2 quick goals and it could have been 3 or 4 for them.

Weimann does not look fully fit, Conway has hardly got in the game and cost us a goal with poor decision not to pass just before HT.

I'd take Conway off for Semenyo, and Weimann off for Wilson - moving Sykes to play attacking midfield.

I'm just not sure the defence is actually playing any worse than usual.

But the lack of pressure up front means that standard performance at the back is exposed even more than normal.

I'd also say QPR have played well, and have competently taken advantage of our weaknesses.
