A total of 732 clubs will take part in the Emirates FA Cup during the 2023-24 season, with the list of clubs accepted into the competition now being revealed.

Among the list are Harleston Town, Heacham and Okehampton Argyle who are among those entering the FA Cup for the first time.

And there's also a spot for Bury FC, previous FA Cup winners in 1900 and 1903. They return to the competition following their merger with Bury AFC, who were formed following Bury's removal from the EFL in 2020 and being placed in administration later that year.

As the FA Cup applications were oversubscribed, it has not been possible to accommodate all clubs that submitted an application to enter. The maximum number of clubs that can be accepted to participate in the competition in its current format shall be 732.

And having reviewed all applications, seven places were available in the FA Cup for clubs at Step 6 of the FA National League System. These places have been awarded to the seven highest-ranked Step 6 clubs (that applied to enter) not promoted to Step 5, based on their points per game (PPG) from the 2022-2023 season.

For ease of reference, the seven Step 6 Clubs to be accepted are Brislington FC, Hartpury University FC, Liskeard Athletic FC, Okehampton Argyle FC, Stockport Town FC, Wells City FC and Wendron United FC

Alongside the round exemptions and prize fund, the same details for the FA Youth Cup, Isuzu FA Trophy and Isuzu FA Vase have also been released ahead of the new season kicking-off in August.

Exeter mate! The fabled A30 derby!

Liskeard v Plymouth would be the one - mind you, they play each other every pre - season anyway.

Six out of the seven that were accepted are from west of Gloucester.

Aren't Saltash United in the FA Cup. Just across the Tamar Bridge from Plymouth.

Okehampton Argyle? Despite living there and going to school there I have never heard of them ?

Liskeard was always a bloody odd place too, where literally everyone drank chicory coffee, no idea why but it's totally true

They`ve certainly been a thing for the thirty odd years I`ve lived down here - they play in Simmons Park.

Edit. Founded in 1929 according to Wiki

Wow. Simmonds Park. Scene of so many of my, er, formative experiences, if you know what I mean.

More of a Rugby town really, unlike their neighbours Chagford.

Small Village side that went from South Devon league into the County League in the year of it's conception.

Lasted 2 years then it went tits up.Play in the Devon and Exeter leagues i think now.

Have to say their pitch was the best surface i ever played on being on the Moor anytime of the season it was perfect.

The National League is delighted to announce the rollout of National League TV to cover Vanarama National League North and National League South division clubs for the new season.

All games not subject to UEFA Article 48 regulation will be streamed exclusively live on National League TV – this means all midweek and any other non-Saturday 3pm games will be permitted on the platform.

Since its full launch on Boxing Day last year, over 117,000 people from 57 countries have tuned in to National League TV, watching over 300 games.

Ten test events were held last season to gauge the appetite for streaming in the North and South divisions – with thousands of fans streaming games.

The first round of North and South Divisions games to be streamed on NLTV will be on the week of Monday 14 August.

National League General Manager Mark Ives said: “It’s great to be moving forward with our plans to stream National League North and South games domestically next season.

“It means over 300 extra games will be available to supporters on top of what is already a brilliant offering on our streaming platform.

“The games being streamed will be available to both domestic and international supporters.

“Attendance figures suggest streaming hasn’t had a negative impact on crowds. In fact, our spectator base has massively increased over the course of last season.

“Across the three divisions, attendances were over three million last season, up by 22 per cent.”

More details about how to purchase an NLTV Match Pass will be released before the start of the 2023/24 Vanarama National League season on Saturday 5 August.

On August Bank Holiday (28th) Cadbury Heath Fc will be hosting a memorial game at 3pm in memory and celebration of thier late president Terry Mitchell who was a stalwart for many many years and who sadly passed away recently. A cadbury heath legends team will be pitting their wits against a team made up of former city and rovers legends who will be managed by Terry's son in law, Mr Ian Holloway (booo hiss!) More details to follow.

I did not know Holloway was Terry's SiL until now. But explains why he was chosen to open the old changing rooms when they were built ??

Hemel Hempstead 1 - 0 Yeovil

St Albans 2 - 1 Weymouth

Taunton 2 - 1 Braintree

Few shocks yesterday on the opening day as there always will be but this is undoubtedly the biggest shock of the day

Had an awful summer with ownership issues and were days away from not being a club.

Down to their bare bones yesterday only fielding 4 subs as a result. But they came up against one of the title favourites Oldham and won 4-0.

Oldham won’t win the title under Unsworth. Clueless manager

We have recently been made aware by the Football Association and the Southern League, that due to the dimensions of our current changing rooms we can no longer hold anymore home fixtures at Platinum Hyundai Park.

We were aware that our changing rooms needed to be made bigger in order to meet the standard of league criteria, however, we thought that we would have more time to rectify this and so this news came as a shock to us all.

In order to compete at step 4 certain requirements must be met, and although we have made enormous strides off the pitch to comply with the rules and requirements of the Southern League. The home and away changing rooms need improvement, they need to go from 16 square metres to 18 square meters, and the officials changing room needs to go from 4 square meters to 6 square meters. Although this may sound straight forward, it’s not quite that simple, especially financially.

The future of the club has weighed very heavy on our shoulders this past week. But in saying that, there has been lots of positive meetings with everybody involved pulling together to ensure we continue our Southern League status. So, as a short term solution we will be supplying the officials with a portacabin, which falls in line with the leagues criteria and is due to arrive hopefully by the middle/end of September. One of our supporters, Jim Pickernell, has kindly offered his services to make adjustments to our current changing rooms, by knocking through the officials changing room in order to achieve the league criteria of 18 square meters for both the home and the away teams. A massive thank you to Jim, again it shows the importance of supporters and volunteers in non-league football. We’d like to personally thank both the FA and the Southern League for their co-operation and support in dealing with this matter.

So, you will all be thinking, what do we do for now and where will we play our next four home fixtures?

Having heard the seriousness of the matter above, Melksham Town Football Club have come to Westbury United’s aid and have offered the club a lifeline to remain in the Southern League. We are extremely grateful to the Melksham board and especially to our friend, Darren Perrin (chairman), who has gone above and beyond in the last 10 days to ensure Westbury United Football Club can continue its step 4 status. Darren reached out when he heard the news and acted very swiftly to offer us a helping hand, by very kindly offering us the Oakfield Stadium facility to play our next three league matches, and more if we needed.

We can’t thank Darren, the board and Melksham as a community enough for their generosity and support. We will forever be grateful to them for their kindness and approach in helping us through this difficult time.

The FA Trophy game on September 9th against Bemerton Heath Harlequins, will now also take place at the Oakfield Stadium, home of Melksham Town. This fixture could have taken place at Platinum Hyundai Park, but with the changing rooms under construction that week. Darren has kindly offered us the facilities of the Oakfield Stadium.

Our plans that were submitted to the league with regards to the building work on the existing changing rooms are still in place, and we hope to get this work started on before the start of next season.

Lastly, we’d like to say a massive thank you to our sponsors and supporters for their continued support, help and understanding in this matter. #StrongerTogether

Games now scheduled to be played at the Oakfield Stadium:

Melksham Town FC - 28/08/23

Malvern Town FC - 02/09/23

Bemerton Heath (FA trophy) - 09/09/23

Wimborne Town FC - 28/09/23

Just a heads up, cash only. Not quite with the modern world to have card machines ?

Thinking of heading to BMF for the game today against Yate - anyone have any idea what parkings like?

As of right now (just gone in) theres a few spaces on the road that ends at Sea Mills Station which is only a 5 minute walk to the ground

Probably 15-20 spaces in the car park at the moment from a passing glance

Watching BMF against Yate today, can’t shake the feeling that Yate are in trouble. I expect Manor Farm to be one of the weaker sides at that level, but they bullied Yate early doors - great finish by Grubb. Yate got back into it with a pen that looked debatable but created the square root of nothing.

What was more disturbing was the fact that Yate seemed to have no gameplan and frequently didn’t do the basics - every corner was long as they didn’t account for the slope, nobody seemed to want to be an option, the pace was slow and within a two minute period the team tried to let Lewis (on the left) and Tooze (on the right) beat three men alone with no support. They feel like a very badly coached side at the moment, and the fact Sainsbury was MoM tells its own story.

Pretty much directionless, tactically not there and lacking effort. Those things tend to lead to a managerial change sooner rather than later.
