Nakhi looking very lively. One very good through ball for Bell to score, a well taken goal and, a moment ago, an impressive solo run - robbed of a second goal by a last moment challenge.

Wells-Bell

Assist-Goal.

Happened v Swindon too, nice problem to have Wells v Conway as the striker with a possible Wells-Bell linkup emerging.

Bell was always ahead of Conway until the start of last season wasn’t he?

No, TC was ahead, was pairing with Wells pre-season, Bell was behind them....hes flying this pre-season tho'.

Wells yet again. I know it's hard to judge on these pre-season warm-up games and, like the Swindon match, City do look far too strong for the opposition, but that said, Nakhi really has had a very good first half.

What’s impressed me with Wells over the last 18 months or so is not just his performances but what he brings out of Conway and Bell.

And even defenders like Atkinson - Atkinson said on the commentary that Wells went out of his way to give him advice re what he as a striker would like/dislike when up against a defender. Wells does sound very supportive to our younger players. Top pro.

Belly was probably a bit ahead, before Andy Rolls got his hands on his hamstring before the Stoke home game in the covid season that gave Tommy his chance to take place.

What’s amazing is they’ve played together through all the age groups and are now starting together for the first team. It really is the academy pipeline dream.

No more Rodri’s on 6 month deals ??

I think John Motson wouldn’t be too impressed! Trying to catch up with Newport’s squad numbers for my notes is not the easiest…

Good performance though so far - Bell, Wells and Araoye looking good and some bright moments from Williams too imo.
