So you think we are in the market for players that West Brom don’t want to lose?

Prepare to be very disappointed over the next week and indeed for however long you support us, then.

Strangely I’m going to judge him on how he performs but in contrast to a lad who couldn’t get in Bolton’s side, this one is far more logical.

Could of course still turn out to be a dud, that’s life.

What does your coment 'However long you support us' mean Ive been supporting for 55 years and aint going to stop now

Just read on a WBA forum on their TGH thread that they are open to offers for Mowatt too..he was rather good at Barnsley, thoughts? Or would that be the wrong profile of midfielder.

Didnt do it at Boro, bang average there and WBA. Will be on a fat wage too.

He is a player I've wanted us to go for for a long time and his value is in our range now bit like Dickie was due to recent form. Not sure we can offer suitable wages but I think he'd be brilliant and would add a real presence in midfield.

At Middlesbrough he was under two different msnahers so and West Brom possibly isn't the most stable of clubs right now. 4 goals from midfield and 2 assists in 2021-22 there (Ismael then Bruce)...Among other things we lack goals from midfield albeit perhaps a duplication of Knight's role.

One of those I'd be on the fence about. He was great at Barnsley.

We did, unfortunately he's injured.....

I mean I wouldn't say he was a specialist as a RB as a bunch of Rangers fans had him down as a defensive midfielder and quite a few Aberdeen fans said that "playing him at right back is playing him out of position". I mean we may have signed him with a view to playing him as a right back but transfermarkt has him as a defensive midfielder, so do most of the Rangers fans I speak to and a lot of what I've read says he's a midfielder too. I would call a specialist someone who has always primarily played in a certain position, McCrorie doesn't fit into that category IMO.

One to develop by the sounds of it. Have no idea where we are looking to play him. Played everywhere bar up top by the sounds of it. WBA fans rather they keep him as there’s a player there.

Not knocking it but could do with players now that are specialists in their position and ready to hit the ground running.

Time will tell.

This is very true, hence why we won’t ever compete in the championship. Just a shame every player we bring in is either an absolute dud or gets injured and never plays.

I'm sorry but are you ever positive? You seem like a person who could win the lottery and still moan the shops are shut.

Definitely looks to be available on more than just a loan - rumours earlier in the window that he was off to Brum for c£1m. I’d suggest if we were to get him in I’d try and err on permanent at that price (or certainly have a fixed fee in the loan agreement). If TGH comes in and performs well, then we may have to pay significantly more if permanent comes on the horizon.

FWIW my view on him is that he’s a decent, neat and tidy midfielder who likes to get in / around the box, hence the comments from Corberan that he sees him as an 8.  He can also play RB.  He’s what I would call a “midfielder”, and like Knight can play various roles.  He’s not as much of a pest as Knight, he’s more technical with his passing.  Wouldn’t say he’s a tackler, but on the ball he’s decent.

If this was 2 months ago, and his name was cropping up, whether perm or loan, I think most of us would think, 21, circa 50 games at this level, Eng u20, plenty of growth…that fits the brief.

I’m not sure how that changes.  Continued below.

Some WBA guy on Twitter saying TGH having medical with us tomorrow. Not sure how reliable this guy is but over 5,000 followers (apparently that makes a difference)

The West Brom financial struggles make this one very interesting.  It’s probably easier for them to raise some funds by selling a younger player on low wages (relatively) than someone like Mowatt who they probably can’t shift because of the commitment to his wage.  I’d imagine Mowatt signed a pretty decent deal when moving from Barnsley, and would likely be above our wage limits.  They are probably gonna get an impairment on a signing-on fee if not part of the wage bill, if they try to shift him.

I think this will be a loan, but would not surprise me if it’s a perm either.  Could well be one of those deals where done as a loan for speed, and made perm after the window closes.

His Viz of anyone interested (as a CM).IMG_8454.thumb.jpeg.b945df80cfee86c3b4585542dfa881d9.jpegIMG_8455.thumb.jpeg.4671e65737a517c5ab91089d3b6850e1.jpeg

and as a RB:

I guess at this point we don’t know if this is for McCrorie or spending some of Alex’s money.

I’m not trying to be negative, I think TGH would be an astute signing for the position we’re in where we need cover. But we are in a desperate situation once again where we are needing to dip into the loan market already. We also need to replace Scott in midfield and get in cover for when Williams and Naismith get injured.

Mowatt is a nasty ****** just what we need to break up play. Wages may be an issue though.
