DolmanGaz Posted March 4 Report Share Posted March 4 I've only had a ST for 12 or 13 years, despite my age, but went a fair bit before that. I increasingly doubt I will ever enjoy a season as much as that Cotts year in L1... getting spanked every week in the prem wouldn't be fun that's for sure, but hoping one year we put together a run in the Champ and get there, but even if I see another 30 seasons I've no confidence it'll happen!! 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

However, the team who just got hammered again will most likely dominate the championship next season. Heckingbottom or NP with the squad, doubt the latter does any worse. Wilder I thought might have rallied them a bit. Heckingbottom never ever a PL manager. Went up with a higher budget side with some standouts when Covid still a factor. His PPG with Leicester and Watford in the PL was fine, competent. As were some of the underlying stats. Sure, may go down but certainly giving it a good go, i would take that. Or god forbid maybe we would even do a Brentford or Bournemouth and consolidate for a few years? Many Championship clubs promoted to the PL struggle, with the odd exception of course. Sheffield Utd, Burnley, Luton and Forest are the current bottom 4. Historically it’s always been that way. For several seasons the Baggies were a yo-yo club and Burnley are becoming the same and it’s likely that Leicester will become the same as well. Going back further Ipswich survived for two seasons but got found out and were relegated. If/when City reach the PL we’ll be exactly the same will happen. However I quite like thought of seeing top PL teams at AG but obviously SC prices will go up and will it be worth it to see City getting stuffed as the Blades were last night? Yes they are shite this year, but no doubt both will be in the top 6 next season with parachute payments. There's obviously a chance you can give it a good go like Luton, and even the almost miraculous that was Brighton / Brentford and pushing on further.
