Summer is coming , happy days Just booked English teacher for November in SWX. Album out today getting great reviews Did you get the DSP at Renato's? The guy who runs it has been doing it for some years out of old pubs and stuff trying to get it going I think, genuinely some of the best pizza I've ever had. Really need to get back there. As in Detroit style pizza ? Yes it was great , really different to most other pizza places I have been too. even though it’s extremely thick base it’s not heavy at all. It’s full veggie in terms of topping choices which wouldn’t be my normal pref , but we had one with plant based pepperoni on it and didn’t really notice the difference its called pizza is lovely and they run it from the upstairs in Renatos. They still sell pizza by the slice in downstairs bar also , but that is a more conventional style / thinner base Got a feeling they ran it out of the orchard pub for a bit years back but I didn’t try it then

I saw Gregory Porter was there , my Mrs fancied that, we did get up there for Ladysmith Black Mambazo though. Going to keep a closer eye on who's playing next year. Yes it was, plenty of non-jazz acts were there though, Sophie Ellis-Bextor!!!!

They have been supporting Jesus Jones/EMF on their recent tour, but weren't available for the Bristol gig, so I got tickets to see them as a supported band for the Fleece. I believe I have 'won', as we got a full set rather than a hybrid of shorts; we worth a viewing. Also, last night was my first visit to the Marble Factory on Avon Street to see The Wedding Present, what a great venue/facility, had a cracking night. Still a bit wobbly truth be known.

What is the difference between the Marble Factory and Motion ? I saw the Strypes in a small room and Gary Numan in the main room there , is it just the name ? Great facility. Next up, Cud - at the Exchange.

It always was that Marble factory is a smaller venue to the left as you walk in to motion itself, and ‘motion’ is the main room to the right. Nowadays (post lockdowns) seems to all be in the main room and called either option. Brilliant beer selections in both, either way.

Amazing how many of the 90s bands are still touring.
