I've been to the Stadium of Light once. Soren Andersen got a late equaliser I think. Which was nice.

The most one sided game your likely to see , got absolutely battered then soren pops up with that beauty 😂😂

Personally I’m looking for some sort of consistency in our performances , obviously want us to win it but would deffo take a good performance draw with a style of play ,

thought tactically we got it right against Leicester and the Plymouth game despite a few on here having kittens the first 20 mins when we’re under the cosh a little ( that was always going to happen in my eyes ) so today a team lacking confidence and what can be a toxic crowd sometimes I would like us to try and take control of the game , think the first 10-15 might be a bit sticky as I would thought there would be some sort of reaction to there 5-1 loss last week .

big game for me as hopefully we can build on the last 2 and try ( TRY ) to get some positivity moving forward but if we morph back into a poor lasklustre performance the knives will be out for him again big time

Apart from the back post volley by Whittaker I’m not sure they had any real chances.

They started well & had about 4 corners in the first 6 minutes but in truth they didn’t threaten very much at all.

Second half Whittaker had another shot that Max palmed away but that was it.

In reality it was a comfortable win.

I think they got into some great positions in that opening 20 mins, in which had they chosen a better final pass or taken a shot (wow they were reluctant to shoot at times!) they might well have scored.

I agree that after than point it was comfortable and looked like there would only be one winner.

To be honest a point each from the next two games would be decent , Sunderland a wounded animal and not as  bad as the last result ( won 2-0 at Cardiff game before ) and Blackburn hot at present

Would definitely take an entertaining 2-2 with 2 good open play goals from us rather than an ugly 1-0 win with a set piece goal.

It's not our responsibility to provide an entertaining game for opposition fans at their ground.

A solid City performance is important but I'll take an away win however we get it, as no doubt will travelling City fans.

Home games are different and with Blackburn, Huddersfield and Rotherham coming up we should be looking to win all 3, win them well, and finish the season at AG in style. My expectation as a fan is that Manning will really go for it in these 3 games with an attacking outlook, hopefully leading not only to entertaining games but plenty of City goals.

I didn’t say it was for the benefit of their home fans. I want to see us play entertaining football home and away.

Yep, I would go along with that.

I'll be at the game this afternoon, and as much as we all hope for an end-to-end thriller packed with incident and goals every time, I would be just as delighted to sneak a 1-0 with a fortunate deflection off Nahki's knackers from a yard out in the 96th minute 😂

I expect a Sunderland response after that mauling last week. It’s likely we will have to soak up some pressure early doors but if we can nick a goal I expect their fan base to react angrily, they are a passionate bunch.

A good performance is what I’m after for consistency, personally I’d take a point in one of the most meaningless games in the league today 😂

You said you'd take an entertaining 2-2 draw with open play goals over an ugly City win from a set piece.

Away from home entertainment is not a big consideration and in the Championship an ugly away win will always be acceptable afaic.

They did lose 6 in a row before that mind.

And Blackburn hadn’t won since early February before that.

Other than that, spot on. 😂

I'm only talking for myself, and I'm speaking from my experience of following City away for many seasons (rare these days) when the most important thing after travelling for hours was to see a City win.

Not something that happened frequently enough to be too fussy how it came about, and I'd never have preferred an entertaining draw instead of celebrating the 3 points.

For fans of classic pub interiors, The Dunn Cow (next to Sunderland Empire) is a must visit, although on Thursday all their ales were a bit hoppy/hazy/citrusy for my taste. For a more traditional Sunderland pint, they have Double Maxim in The Peacock up the road. If you have time for a stroll across the city centre, there is Black Sheep at the Barge and Barrel on Burdon Road, close to the (towering) war memorial.

Went to that game. Tues night away at Sunderland, what was I thinking???

Got home at 3 30 am, ready for work at 8. Crazy game, but a great goal by Soren.

I went with a couple of mates and we decided to stay in a cheap hotel.

Got so pissed before the game it's all a bit of a blur.

I went for a pee during the first half and somehow managed to re-enter the seating from the concourse into the wrong section. Took my seat, wearing my City shirt, and quickly realised I was surrounded by not very happy Sunderland fans. Luckily for me a copper spotted me and escorted me back to the away fans section before any shoeings were dished out. Got some applause from the City fans for my efforts.

After the game we went to find a pub and were just about to walk into one when a friendly mackem lass advised us that if we entered that particular pub it wouldn't end well. She kindly escorted us to another pub, full of Sunderland fans, where we were brought drinks all night.
