  1. £214m spent and not a single season of Premier League football makes him pound-for-pound the worst owner in terms of footballing success in the entire football league. No-one else has spent more and achieved so little. But sure "Mr Bristol City" "club legend" etc Do me a favour.
  2. Tomori is having an average season and was a shambles in the two CL games against Chelsea. At fault for a goal at Stamford Bridge then got an early bath in the second leg whilst giving away a penalty in the process.
  3. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they made it to the Premier League before us. Well run, and flying at the moment. I dunno. Rovers got relegated out of the football league despite having one of the highest wage bills in L2. I can't recall us ever failing that spectacularly. They've spent a lot of time in the past 20 years in L2, which despite their shite facilities, is underachievement for a club with L1 support and investment.
  4. I'm sure there was an article on this in the Guardian a few years back and the general conclusion was Bristol probably is the biggest underachieving city in European football.
  5. Just left the ground. An absolute mess of a performance. Team selection, tactics, style of play, attitude - all simply unacceptable. And with us heading for the bottom three by close of play Saturday, it is not an anomaly. A lot of our fans are sleepwalking at the moment. I'm afraid Nigel and the players are underperforming badly and with a month break and January (where we are likely to lose personnel and players) on it's way, it's likely things are going to get worse before they get better.
  6. Very sad. Was due to see them for the first time this month in Bath, but obviously they cancelled the tour a while back due to Mimi's ongoing treatment. Such an awesome band still producing great music so late in their careers.
  7. Yeah, I've got no issue with a band changing their style and sound, if done effectively. Plenty of bands have done this over the years to great effect. This sound just does not suit the band at all, and I'm afraid I just can't take Alex Turner seriously as a frontman anymore with this crooner style. I've tried getting into the last couple of albums but don't feel engaged. I'm surprised they're persisting with it, as it's been a commercial disaster for them in terms of album sales. AM sold about 2.7 million copies, the last album 100,000. I assume they make most money from concerts these days, but still, it clearly hasn't proved to be a popular change of direction with fans.
  8. What time for Bivol? Or have I missed it
  9. We were doing alright up to 45mins. Delete thread ?
  10. Pat blaming the ref. Getting a bit predictable now. Some punishment for Saracens mind. Looks like they'll win the league at a canter again this season. At least their try scorer will be with us next season.
  11. Makes it all the more frustrating that we didn't take advantage of catching them on an off-day I'm afraid.
  12. Starting today. Should have a bit more spice and meaning than usual given we're only 10 months away from the World Cup in France. From a Welsh perspective it's been an up and down couple of years. Seconds away from a Slam in 2021. Then this year's shambles culminating in a loss at home to Italy, followed by an encouraging tour to South Africa this summer. No Dan Biggar but Tipuric, Halfpenny and Ken Owens back which is a boost. One thing we won't be lacking is pace with Rees-Zammit and Rio Dyer. The latter a 22 year old from Newport who's one to watch. Very interested to see how the Irish get on against SA and France against Australia later.
  13. Yeah could be. Given we've always assumed Exeter are one of the most competently run teams in the Prem, you've gotta worry for the rest.
  14. Exeter in a bit of financial trouble too. I wonder if this refers to selling Sandy Park? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/63520511
  15. Both Webster and Kelly were being scouted by England senior set-up whilst they were at City. Sure both will get their chance eventually.
  16. Is our wage bill regressing faster than other clubs in this division who have had to cut their cloth too? That would be interesting to see, and then we can make a proper judgement as to whether progress is a realistic goal.
  17. Not sure it would be given most clubs in this division are in a similar place post-covid to us. If we assume we are tenth in wages, then interestingly that would be the same as the 2019/20 season:
  18. No doubt he's significantly reduced the wage bill but didn't Gould say the other night it was still top 10?
  19. Couple of coach loads of well-oiled pigs have just arrived in Thornbury in the past half an hour.
