VAR will NOT be operational against Fulham
Coxy27 replied to Never to the dark side's topic in Football Chat
The use of technology has no bearing on the likelihood of a particular outcome in a game. All the games are being refereed to the exact same set of rules - which is the crucial part. No two games are ever refereed exactly the same regardless of technology, but the rule set being used is the same. It's perfectly fair and doesn't have a bearing on the chances of progression for each team. No bearing on chance of progression equals no affect on teams not involved in the games without technology and therefore it's perfectly fair for the competition overall. -
VAR will NOT be operational against Fulham

What difference does it make? Each individual match is still 'fair' as both teams are treated equally. -
They just want Salah and Mane back for it...

I think the 80% refers to what the previous owner had. Maybe the £100m is Mr. Solak's investment, and he's also backed by a number of other parties for the total deal. Either way I doubt it's only £100m unless the club is in financial trouble or the previous owner just wants out at effectively any price.

Isn't it also true that cocaine traces can be found on virtually every bank note in England... Don't think this really proves anything. I bet human feces was on every toilet they swabbed as well, but they probably didn't conclude that people were ingesting that and causing violence...

4 goals and 4 assists this season for a team as shite as Newcastle isn't bad. He's certainly a lot more productive than Traore. As others have said I think he'd be quality in a better side. Traore however, I doubt would be any different really.

Clubs/Managers/Whoever at clubs may well have thought about requesting, or even actually requested, postponements under the guise of COVID but really just to benefit themselves because of injuries - I agree with that. However - as the Chelsea example demonstrates (Again I fully agree that it is ridiculous to suggest Chelsea should have been called off when you look at the team they fielded, with Saul, Barkley, Kovacic on the bench as well!) it required a level of proof that there was indeed a certain level of cases within the CLUB - not just the playing staff necessarily. No premier league games have been called off because of injuries or suspensions. Chelsea is the prime example of that - they requested and were rightly refused. The games called off were because of COVID - cases among players and staff, and the likelihood that continuing to train and play would spread it further. If you listen to Conte's interviews this week he says that they were forced to close the training ground for three days - the club had no power over that decision, it was the same at other clubs. The Premier League isn't just arbitrarily deciding over each game with no evidence!
-
That didn't happen. Clubs had to prove there was an ongoing outbreak within the 'club' - staff as well. No one called off because of injuries.

He doesn't have the skills. I'm tired of people saying it. He's shite.

Bit homophobic mate

Newcastle will certainly be paying £25+ million for multiple players in January.

Spoiling the integrity of the league by allowing that to go ahead.

So, we`re four games off the half way point of the season
Coxy27 replied to Lanterne Rouge's topic in Football Chat
What we've seen in the last two home matches is a bit of progress. A bit. I don't count Barnsley really as the performance was not at the level that would really win you many games. Last time we won two in a row at home in the league was January. I think that's reason enough not to expect to win both those home games. 4 points would be excellent from them. -
Penalties are a bit stupid most of the time anyway when you think about it. Is a free shot at goal from 12 yards a fair punishment for any of those incidents? Probably not. But the rules are as they are, and probably won't change. I'm glad none were given.

What do you think they earn, Dave? I wouldn't have expected Callum's wages to be too high. Andreas I can see why they may be.

Seemed desperate for us to get a red card for some reason. COD's early tackle described as "a naughty one" despite being a standard challenge you see every game, and he actually pulled out of it. Then wanted Scott sent off for again, just a fairly standard tackle.

OTIB outage: Jesus that was difficult - pay your subs!

I only got a 5 year deal - option to renew in 2026! -
Or it could just be that they've got a rubbish manager, players not performing (who aren't that good anyway, i.e. Maguire, Pogba), and no central midfield. Ronaldo is world class, even now. He's not making any team worse.

Watch the QPR away game and you will see what he offers. He's young and he's not the finished article so will have bad games and make some mistakes. However, when he is playing well, he's one of the best players we have in my opinion. I think that QPR match is the best example.

Can't disagree with that.

There is a bit of a discrepancy between Companies House and the OS. I think you're right about SL judging from Companies House. Marshall however, is a Director: Along with JL, Harman and Gould.

There are 5. Steve Lansdown, Jon Lansdown, Rochard Gould (CEO), Doug Harman, and Gavin Marshall (CFO) Totally agree with your second paragraph.
