  1. Some of you might like this. Plenty of City crowd shots.
  2. I'm surprised so many are saying the San Siro. I've found it really boring and I've been a few times. Middle of no where as well.
  3. Interesting view on a comment made by NP considering my op. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nigel-pearson-bristol-city-transfer-8257567
  4. Thanks for clarifying. I misread what had been posted. Thank you. ?
  5. Perugia is one place I never watched footy...only visited on my travels, but what a lovely place. Very lucky man ?
  6. Most fans are apolitical at the grounds RR...however the Ultras are something else. And it's the minority that make the noise and get the focus. They have battles amongst themselves, new leaders trying to out do the old leader. Different points of views etc. It's a forever evolving cycle. Atalanta have definitely gone back to their old ways. The curves are full of ' gangs' each following their leader. All trying to out muscle one another. Having followed Lazio for years, and travelled to many grounds, I've seen it first hand many times. It's very complex.
  7. Oh it still does RR. Most of the extremists in Italy attach themselves to football clubs. The whole political system comes out on a ' Sunday afternoon ' at most grounds. It's completely different to here. If you want to vent your political frustrations or allegiance, it's done at the football. It's not always representative of the City. Often historical like you imply. However Atalanta are what they are, regardless.
  8. It's political. They have made a bond with Atalanta who have ultra left wing idealogy. Atalanta have a bit of an old Millwall feel to them...as in they thrive in no one liking them. They've got some of the nastiest yobs in Italy. My lasting memory of them was at Zidane's last game for Juve in 2001. The Atalanta fans started ripping seats out and throwing them. The Police ran and even let some of them just carry on.
  9. I've been to Napoli a few times. It does have a lot of crime, but it's very rarely against tourists. Mostly drugs, extortion and gang related. It's a bit like visiting Rio...if you stick to the ' correct areas' then you won't find trouble. Don't wear Jewellery or flash watches etc. It's been run down for many years. Just read up on it's history in the past century. It's an attack on all the senses, in the same way the Medina in Marrakech hits you for the first time. Definitely has a completely different feel to other parts of Italy. Almost Arabic, African. It's worth going just for the experience. Then from Napoli get to Pompeii and down the Amalfi Coast for a more relaxed experience. This is worth a watch to get a feel of the people. This is also an entertaining film on BBC iPlayer about life as a gang member in Napoli and gives an idea on how the corruption works, and how people live often hand to mouth. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000yw74/piranhas
  10. Chris grew up in the flats overlooking the ground. He'd go out on his balcony pre game to look at the pitch, then take the short walk to the ground. His Dad and family would cheer him on at games from their balcony. Couldn't get more local. Here's a great pic. On a side note...Buster Footman was also inducted last Saturday.
  11. He doesn't look fit to me. The opportunity he had yesterday to equalise towards the end of the game...summed up what he has done most weeks with us. Unbalanced, flat footed, tired, no confidence. Such a weak strike. Fingers crossed he improves.
  12. Last time I saw a kit where they couldn't match the colours the same, was back in 1976.
  13. DaSilva is a liability at LB. What the hell was that. Let me just stroll over and not even make an effort to block the cross. He's so passive at this part of the game.
  14. No way is that bloke indigenous...he sounds like he's come off a market stall in sarf London. It's like a sketch from the office ?
  15. So Wenger would have signed him for Arsenal if he had visa approval. Gutting for him. Know how he feels re visas ?
  16. I've heard the same from people who collect shirts. Sizing up seems to be the thing to do.

I made that decision last year. A friend came back from yesterday, and also said he won't be going again. Shame, because I used to love it.
  18. It'll probably be better quality as well ?? https://uk.dhgate.com/product/87-90-92-94-96-97-99-01-08-glasgow-rangers/661001110.html#dspm=wapen.seo-uk.list.2.&seo_type=1&page_id=1|#s1-2-1;uk|3572761458
  19. On reading it back...it pretty much does ?
  20. Coaches still use numbers to describe a players position. As it's so ingrained. A couple favs... A false nine is a centre-forward who repeatedly moves towards the ball in deeper positions from a high starting position, often dropping to receive centrally. The main intention is to get on the ball away from the opposition centre-backs – and, in doing so, to draw players out of position and disrupt the defence. A false number ten is fielded in the central attacking midfield like a traditional number ten. However, other than the more old-fashioned number tens, he is barely involved in combination plays and does not show any superior creativity. In contrast, he opens holes and behaves intelligently off the ball. Another form of a false number ten is called central winger. He, unlike a traditional playmaker who stays behind the striker in the centre of the pitch, drifts wide when in possession of the ball to overload the flanks.
  21. Jagger at same gig in City shirt.
